Star Wars Misc. Catch-All

I liked it too but can't wait to see where it goes. Felt a little slow at times but it's a first episode so hopes are still high.

Yeah, I think these types of series have to be taken as the full thing vice episodes standing alone. Some parts were slower but all that is set for future eps.

Spoiler:

The fight scene in the city was poorly done for me. But I loved all the flashback stuff.

100% agreed. The scene was poorly shot and the action seemed off.

Also when Boba gets dressed after the bacta tank, you can easily see his armor bend like a cheap plastic costume. I don’t normally see this stuff, so it stood out.

Enjoyed the rest of it though, looking forward to more.

Was disappointed in the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett. Obviously this starts right after the Mandalorian but instead of the badass we saw there, we get what I akin to a sad Steven Seagal aikido demonstration.

The storytelling of how he got out and whatnot was the saving grace of the episode to me.

Yes, I felt the same. The fighting scenes were a big step down from the Mandalorian episode. I was almost waiting for the story to explain it in someway.

IMO Boba was still tough in the episode. Guy got ambushed and was not ready for it. He takes like 10 electro hits while fighting before finally going down while the assassins take one electro hit and go down.

I think the point of this fight is to show that right now Boba feels he is at the culmination of his life path before he got ate by the Sarlacc Pit. You get to be crime boss, everyone bows down, you live it up. He is so sure of his "crime boss plot armor" he is just strolling around Mos Espa with zero situational awareness and minimal support. So the ambush catches him with his pants down (and helmet full of coins).

I think we are gonna see in future eps that his time with the tribe has changed him and he will step to a different path after a bit.

I don't disagree. I just think it was a really badly done fight scene. I have come to expect better from Robert Rodriguez.

I've seen that video around a few places now. Can anyone tell me where it's from? It looks like a town hall meeting where some random dude is trying to filibuster.

Parks & Recreation and that’s Patton Oswalt.

And in the context of the show he is a random dude trying to filibuster.

It was also an improvised extended scene. Just awesome.

I just saw Boba Fett kill a Thark. That’s enough to win me over for a few episodes at least.

I liked the first episode. The feeling I got was that even though he's now "crime boss" he's got a different set of goals and a different set of things he's willing (and not willing) to do to reach those goals. And and viewers, we're still trying to figure out his point of view- and as a character he may be trying to figure that out exactly as well.

It's episode 1, looking forward to seeing where the rest takes us.

Also, because of the number of new posts in this thread today, I thought episode 2 was up- it wasn't. When does that come out?

Wednesday.

We're getting some real deep gaffi stick lore and I am here for it.

Vir-gin-ia!

I've watched the first 2 episodes of Boba Fett and it feels very uneven. Given who he's supposed to be I was expecting a lot more blasting and a lot less talking in many places, the second episode in particular feeling like it was forced to be polite because there may be young children present, as it were

Spoiler:

Why didn't he just blast the mayor? That entire scene I was expecting Fett to just shoot him. The entire scene was basically building to exactly that and then....... nothing happened. Weird

However, when it's storytelling it's really rather excellent. The entire sequence with the Tusken Raiders was extremely well handled and was really rather beautiful in places, especially the robing and gaffi stick stuff.

I want more Bad Wookie growl.

(Apparently he's Black Krrsantan, a Wookie Bounty Hunter)

Spoiler:

Can I get high by putting any lizards up my nose or only some lizards?

Not super into the character of Mr Fett but the world building is fun.

Seems kind of obvious that at some point Boba gets the Tuskens to help him take on Jaime the Hutt and Cersei the Hutt.

Spoiler:

I think the Pyke Syndicate on the train should have run marksmanship classes for the Storm Troopers. Those fish looking dudes can shoot. From a moving vehicle!

Honestly I'm more impressed by the Tuskens sniping Pykes through the windows of a moving train.

Spoiler:

He was raised around bounty hunters, not Mandalorians. It's clear from Bo-Katan that Mandalorians aren't keen on him either. I don't know his story between Clone Wars and ESB. I'm getting the feeling that his experience getting Sarlacc'ed and time with the Tuskens has changed his outlook. Hence the "Jabba ruled with fear, I intend to rule with respect" line.

I think he's from the Marvel Darth Vader and Doctor Aphra comics. The Mandalorian got me to go watch Clone Wars and Rebels, and I'm glad I did. This might get me to go read those comics now. Which I suspect is also part of Disney/Marvel's plan.

Spoiler:

The outpost in the middle of nowhere is Tosche Station. The two human patrons were Fixer and Camie, friends of Luke before he left Tatooine, and in a deleted scene from A New Hope.

It's harder to shoot from a moving platform than an unstable one, but it's probably a wash. Both are moving.

Is this thread like the Marvel thread where spoilers are assumed?

Thanks for that. I'd have made the connection if the Power Converters were there.

Wait, really? If that's the case, Fett really could have waited another 20 seconds or so before stepping in. Dude probably didn't deserve what would have happened if Fett hadn't been there, but I'm not sorry his butt got roughed up a bit.

Just going by what I remember from the radio drama.
