Post a picture, entertain me!

How do you get the image URL from Twitter on the app? I think I did it once but now I can't remember how. Might have been in a mobile web browser I guess.

I seem to remember saving it locally, uploading to imgur, and posting from there, but I am old and new technology like Twitter is scary.

Heh. Get off MY lawn.

He's actually in the right timeframe for me to know about if I enjoyed any of the music he did, but I stayed willfully ignorant of bands around that time like Matchbox 20 and 3 Doors Down, so much so that I invented a rule---Rule 311: any rock band created after 1990 with a number in their name sucks (and yes I include Nickelback under that rule, just because).

While their pop hits are kinda dull, Matchbox 20 had some amazing song-writing on their melancholy album songs. See: Rest Stop and Last Beautiful Girl. Rob Thomas is one of my guilty pleasures.

I believe while in twitter, I right click on the image to get to the option to 'copy image address' and then open the image in a separate browser tab, and then copy that link and insert in a post using the img button insert in the forum post? I think maybe the extra step does something to interrupt the usual redirect associated with twitter content.

Edit: o yea this is a picture thread, let me test again to make sure.

Edit Edit: If I can do it and you cannot, that's probably because doogiemac whitelisted me because I post too much random questionable sh*t in this forum and I still need access for administrative reasons. Apologies if this is the case.

Explain to me again how they weren't obviously making this up as they went along?

I mean they were. That’s what tickled me about that meme. Also…

What I find funny is that doesn't feel that long ago. Now put up an image of DOS 6.1 disks and I woul think that was old.

I'm this many old

More how old I feel than how old I am.

Older than the invention of this as a computational notion:

It’s funny. My formative years were actually spent with anything but Windows.

I grew up with TRS-80 and Commodore 64. The first computer I bought was a Mac and I think the system disc for that was a CD-ROM.

Then in college I volunteered at the computer lab and worked with my CS professor installing Linux on CS lab computers, I think using CD-ROMs as well. Mid-90s. The very first copies of Red Hat Linux.

My first real touch with Windows was in 1998 when I got a job working with it, I believe.

I recognize that serial number! It's the MSDN volume license number. I'm sure at one point I had it memorized.

My first computer was a Sinclair (RIP) Spectrum 48k. I taught myself to program BASIC by typing in pages of code from Sinclair Programs magazine, which Google tells me ran from 82 to 85. I think we got the thing in 83, when I was 8.

I was basically an adult before my family owned a computer and our first one was an Apple Performa 600CD that a friend let me have when he got a fancy new PowerMac.

My mom did try to get us a computer before that once though. One of the jobs she worked at before she became a nurse upgraded their systems and they let the employees take some of the old ones home. They were just terminals that were completely useless without a mainframe. Took me weeks to figure that out pre-internet.
