Hidden Gems of Netflix's Watch Instantly

Cowboy Bebop ep 1 + 2
Thought these episode were great and captured the spirit of the anime best they could. Acting action were all good. The only person I thought looked dumb was Vicious. There are two main characters from the anime that haven't appeared yet. I hope they are in show because I feel their absence.

I'm a little further and enjoying it for what it is. I still don't know if it needs to exist, but I don't see how they could have done any better with the task of making a live-action version. At the least, we get a bunch more music. I wish there was a special features episode for each episode showing comparisons to the original because I feel like there are a lot of nods to the anime, but I forget the anime completely.

Binged Cowboy Bebop. I watched the anime a long time ago, once, so I have no emotional connection to it except for "it looked and especially sounded cool". I really enjoyed the whole thing and thought it was well done and very enjoyable.

Finished Arcane and really enjoyed it overall. The animation style and quality is through the roof. It suffers ever so slightly from the "we have to jam all these characters in here" syndrome, but not nearly as much as I would have thought considering the source material.

Made it about half way through the first episode of Cowboy Bebop before I bailed. The action that works in the anime just had me eye rolling here. And Spike and Jet maliciously joking about killing that one guy, and repeatedly physically assaulting their prisoners is what completely put me off. I remember a "whatever happens happens" vibe from the anime, but not the casual sadism seen here, but maybe I'm just misremembering. Overall I'm sure it's fine, from what others have been saying. But the original is a masterpiece and my brain can't stop comparing the two.

Most of the way through Cowboy Bebop. I've never watched the Anime and I'm exceedingly unlikely to, but all for the slightly violent "high jinks" going on - which the show handles really quite well I thought - to spends so much time going through the emotional backstories of the 3 cowboys it sort of gets in the way of the fun. I guess that's sort of the point, but it's bogging it down more than a little.

It's a bit all over the place to be honest. Not unenjoyable, just a right mish-mash of ideas.

I sent the bizarre and misguided blackmail clip to my bestie, and he used to to illustrate to his wife why he is not enthused about this version.

Goddamn, Arcane finishes strong. The fight scenes in the last few episodes were incredible.

It's gonna be a long wait to season 2.

Watch LoveHard with my wife. Typical RomCom nothing fancy but found it entertaining and pretty funny.

I am enjoying Cowboy Bebop quite a bit!

Hell yeah, I ended up enjoying this show a lot more than I expected.

Sums up my thoughts.

Just came to me one of the reasons I don't like Vicious. He reminds me Lucius Malfoy.

I know they're trying to do the same visual effects with Vicious as they did in the anime, but that's a hard thing to pull off. 100% on the Lucius Malfoy reference there, but to be honest, the moment I first saw him, my mind went immediately to Riff Raff from Rocky Horror...just with a bit more hair on top.

After the first episode, I was convinced that I wasn't going to watch any more given how much I love the anime (and am in the process of re-watching it) and how much the show tried to be like (and wasn't really that much like) the experience of the anime. I saw on it for a few days and realized that there were aspects of the show that I really did like. I've kind of come to peace with it now and have shelved it under "really well done Cowboy Bebop fan fiction" and am back to watching the show again.

I'm only a couple of episodes in right now, but I think it's hilarious how this version of Spike and Jet bicker like an old married couple. I also really like this version of Faye so far and am looking forward to seeing more of her. I also LOVE all of the little Easter eggs and random other pop-culture references that show up in random places as background pieces in the scenery. I'm going to have to re-watch the series just to make sure that I didn't miss any of them since they go by pretty quickly.

Finally a shoutout to the amazing soundtrack. I own a lot of anime OSTs done by Yoko Kanno even though I've never seen more than a few of the actual anime series that they came from. The music is really what brings this series home for me.

Oh, I also just finished Arcane and....WOW!!! That was an amazing series and cannot wait for season 2. I really hope that they make a lot more of these. I've never played LoL (and really don't care to) but I've greatly enjoyed all of the cinematics that Riot has put out over the years on Youtube.

Tiger king 2 is straight up Florida trailer trash

I also enjoyed Red Notice.

I knew it was pretty much going to be that, and gave it a shot anyway. Gave up after 10 minutes when it was even trashier than I anticipated.

Just finished Arcane. It was fantastic from beginning to end.

It wasn't just trailer trash, the "true crime" angle it took was transparently sensationalist in a manner that seemed to needlessly invite scrutiny on a poor woman that was already unfairly victimized by public idiots. Say what you will about the cringeworthy antics of Carole Baskin, but the chances that she was involved in her husband's death strains credulity. The dude was a mobbed up dirtbag who liked to diddle kids and the DHS thinks he is still alive (I assume after having turned state's witness) and his kids are clearly just after his sweet, sweet mob money.

Shhh, you're making the Florida GWJers homesick.

Hellbound is not at all what I expected it to be. I binged it in two days so to say I liked it would be an understatement. I expected it to be a show about the creatures, and the world trying to stop them, and it ended up being a statement on religion, love and humanity. I thought it was a stellar show and I can't wait for the next season.

Felt a bit like a Korean Midnight Mass.

Yup. And just not that menacing. Not even as menacing as Lucius Malfoy.

Watching Masters of the Universe: Revelation.

Non-stop action so far throughout Ep 1 and 2. Some good story and character development as well.

It's pretty good.

Finished all 5 episodes. It is really, really good. Some interesting twists that will surely drive the purists completely mad.

Spoiler:

And the ending of Ep 5 made me cry again.

So excited to watch!!!

I went from completely disinterested in the show to now being very interested.

Me too. Midnight Mass was great.

Watching cowboy bebop and the soundtrack is the best part

Yeah, I thought Masters of the Universe was pretty fun overall. Once I started, I couldn't stop until I binged all the episodes.

Finally watched and finished Squid Game. Felt like I really had to see it due to all the pop culture references, and it holds up. Pretty amazing stuff and can't believe how much I cried. Gonna probably watch Red Notice as a palate cleanser and then maybe some more Korean stuff, or Alice in Borderland.

I found Red Notice very...neutral. It wasn't exactly bad, just "safe," which made it ultimately disappointing because it should have been better than it was. It was incredibly generic and felt like a waste of the talents of everyone involved. At least they all got a decent paycheck out of it.
