ESPN is dumb?
Dubs gonna be a PROBLEM.
Dubs gonna be a PROBLEM.
They’re, what, 10 deep? And their star draft pick and fellow future Hall-of-Famer are currently injured.
Why is a terrible game between two 1 win terrible teams on ESPN tonight? There are multiple other games between actual playoff teams they could have chosen.
Assuming you mean Detroit-Houston, it’s because they have the number one and two picks from the draft.
When he's on, I think Steph Curry may be the single-most morale-murdering opponent to face since Jordan.
My God, Curry had a night. Nine 3s? Time to celebrate.
Warriors looking like the team to beat early.
and Klay's not back yet. Would love for him to be as close to what he was before injury as is possible. Non-KD Warriors are fun.

That definitely isn't waking old finals nightmares.
This is not a photoshop, FYI.
Steph genuinely has an argument that he is the most influential player, on the court, in NBA history.
Until they change the rules because of him I am not sure I agree. They changed rules because of Wilt, Russell, Michael, Barkley / Shaq, Harden.
What rule could they change? Move the 3 point line back farther? There's not much more room on the baseline.

Check out Sprawlball. Kirk Goldsberry wrote a whole book about all the rule changes they should consider as a result of the modern NBA. Stuff like widening the court and the line or getting rid of the corner 3 altogether.
Widening the court might mean losing a row of seating. And being even more different than FIBA. Probably not going to happen.

I haven't read the book. A simple answer might be to move the line back or make the arc extend to the corners instead of being shorter. Allow hand checking again? There are lots of options.
In other news, the Kings are gonna King. Fired Walton today so now they are on their 11th coach in 15 seasons. Some owners never learn that continuity matters.

ESPN published an excerpt a while back that was pretty good.
Ironically one of his proposals, eliminating the corner 3, would have no impact on someone like Steph. Part of how Steph has changed the game is by forcing defenders to respect his ability to shoot from half court in and off the dribble.
Yeah I'm sure we posted it here 5 or 6 years ago. But he broke NBA 2k. The programming said you shoot better % from standing still, not off the dribble. But Steph defied that, and they had to fix it so you could play as Steph.
Isaiah Stewart gets elbowed, bloodied by LeBron, then tries to go get his own pound of flesh. Both were ejected. Detroit basketbrawl is back, baby!
Man, that dude needs some anger management classes. He should get at least a game suspension if not more, and if the league doesn't the team should for throwing around their staff like that.
Always Detroit...

That's one of my favorite parts of the Steph story. Like, they had to completely redo several shooting mechanics, like what constitutes a "good" shot and how far you can shoot from, along with what you mentioned, because Steph was literally doing video game shit.
Seems 'bout right.

I like the "Allow hand checking again" idea. Steph is great, hands down the greatest long-distance shooter of all time, but it's not a coincidence that his dominance is during the weakest defensive era in history. The game was tailor made for someone like him to dominate. He would be great in any era, but not like he is this generation. Man to man defense is a lost art and that would surely have caused him fits. IMO.
Eh not sure why Lebron got suspended. It was obviously inadvertent, he immediately went to check on the guy and then walked away and tried to deescalate when Stewart tried to start something.
Probably because he punched him when he punched him.
Reference to the joke. NSFW language yet hilarious.
I love that Ja's not afraid of a soul on earth and constantly wants to dunk everyone out of existence, but he's gonna injure himself on one of these if he doesn't slow down.
This is a good game tonight. Lots of nice play and good effort. Too bad Booker is out for the rest of the game.
For sure. An underrated facet of this game is how good the defense is.
