Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Catch-All

I gave in too and played through the first chapter this morning. Great. Gives me me an Unchartered vibe.

I played for about an hour tonight and had an absolute blast.

I'm glad people are enjoying the game. They really get the characters right, and they've been able to craft some emotional scenes.

*edit
And having said the stuff below I am selling it if your interested
PlayStation 5 - $50 shipped.

PM me if you interested.

Finished last night.

Characters - A
Story - A
Graphics - A
Combat - C

They really followed the uncharted game plan. Hordes of pointless enemies, never ending until you run farther forward. A formula that I really don't love.

However everything else was so good I can't complain

Rolled credits this morning - absolutely loved it.

I'm on Chapter 10 or so and am really happy with this game. I find the combat slightly above average--it has problems, but I don't find it to be quite as much of a slog as some do (though there have been a few areas where I would've cut a wave or two of enemies for sure). The characters are just so well done, and the worlds are generally interesting and rewarding to explore. My biggest grip so far is I find my level of concern about finding all the collectibles to be distracting. I know they're not especially necessary (especially now that I've nearly maxed out my upgrades) but I want all the costumes and so hate the idea of accidentally moving on to the next part of the level without finding a hidden cache. I've got the visor upgrade that shows when an item is nearby but I'd like an even more aggressive indicator or some assurance that I can easily backtrack if needed. Mostly I just need to chill! Anyway, I'm finding this experience to be pretty comparable to Marvel's Spider-Man, and it's definitely going to be pretty high up on my game of the year list this year.

My only real complaint with this game is that they really chickened out by redesigning the big bad of chapter 13 to make him “more realistic” looking. His canonical appearance would have fit perfectly with the tone and humor of the rest of the game.

I finished it up this afternoon. Great game!

I was really close to the platinum trophy, but I missed several outfits, which means you have to replay significant sections of the game.

I haven't had time to play this week, but I just managed to find a half hour this morning and played through Chapter 2. The dialogue in this game is so fun, and the dialogue choices are very inspired! I hope I get to play some more this weekend.

PC gets Ray Tracing on the 19th.

Could be a downgrade though, looking at patch notes

Just finished the game. Was a great game, one of the better games I've played in quite some time. I didn't get all of the outfits or collectibles but still a fun ride

Absolutely love it. Has anyone had the heart to

space the lama?

I made it to Chapter 8 yesterday.

The banter in Chapter 7 after

Spoiler:

the crew finds out Peter might be Nikki's dad

is probably the funniest dialogue so far in the game. Soooo good!

You monster.

I finished last night. What a great game. I am baffled that I didn't even manage to get the "half of all collectibles" achievement--I ended up with thousands and thousands of unused upgrade credits because I fully upgraded so early, and I'd say I got about 80% of outfits, so I guess what the game thinks of as collectibles (I assume those sorts of objects that let you trigger a conversation on the ship with a character?) is limited and that, despite having stuck my nose in every nook and cranny in every map, there's even more space than I realized. Do those sorts of collectibles not show up in the scanning mode in your visor? Otherwise I'm not sure how I missed them. It sure seemed like I looked in every area possible, but apparently not. I do kinda wish the game had just committed to give me a cool outfit and upgrade credit every time I completed an area rather than leading me to obsessively (but apparently incompletely!) scanning every single room before proceeding for the whole game long. I know I could just not do that, but it's hard to resist, and it is a small drag on the game. Maybe I'd be happier if I just had some sort of spoiler free guide to use while I played. Ah well. Anyway, great game!

Folks. I just ran across Amazon selling the disc of this for just $29.99 (50% off).

Score. Thanks Donan!

Great game. I’m on chapter 11. Come for the story and character interactions and stay for decent but not great gameplay. Terrific narrative.

The outfits and conversation items so not show up when you scan an area. Yeah, I also wish they had a way that made them easier to find. Apparently you cannot even get all the items in one playthrough, since things can change based on your choices.

I picked it up and played through the first 3 chapters. I'm surprised how much I am enjoying the banter and the characterization. I'm already intrigued by the story and typically I barely pay attention to game stories. I know a main complaint is the combat, but early on I like it. We'll see if it gets repetitive.

The voice actor for starlord reminds me of an actor's voice, but I can't place it. Anyone have an idea?

His name is John Mclaren, and he's been in a lot of B movies, and a bunch of what look like Hallmark romance movies, and a few television roles. He had a recurring role as Jesse in Heartland, for example. Maybe you saw one of those?

Picked this up on sale. I probably could have waited longer as god knows when I will get around to it, but I wanted to support a game that could get looked over.

I figured it out. It was Alex Winters, AKA Bill S. Preston, Esq.

Got this on early BF sale for PS5. Hoping to jump in this week so tagging in.

Finished. Loved it. So few games manage to do humour well. I'd wager that if Andromeda had had this level of writing and visuals people would have given it a pass.

...Andromewut...?

It was a Mass Effect secqual.

Man Rocket gets so pissed if you throw him over the chasm!

Oh, right, thanks...
