Ah, Harley Quinn. Very nice!
Mine took longer than usual, but here it is:
On his twenty-first trial, the Battle Shrimp prevailed Upon the Orca of Orksias.
Joe Madureira is one of my favorite comic book artists. Recently, I've been watching several YouTube videos about his work, and in one of those they showed a cover he did for Onslaught Reborn I had completely forgotten about, but which I thought would be awesome to recreate with the Battle Shrimp. So I shamelessly modeled my hero after his Thor, and this is the result.
You mean Keira Metz?
Yes! That's the one!
As for the books, I've only read the first two. I liked them, but didn't blow me away. I thought about giving them another try when I was playing the game, but I never found the time to do so. Maybe in the future?
Nice. If you're playing a Fairy, does that mean you've had a look at The Wild Beyond the Witchlight sourcebook? Nobody in my circle of friends has gotten it yet—any good?
I have! It's VERY different and probably not for everybody. I've only quickly scanned most of it but read up to part way through chapter 2 in detail and have yet to find an encounter that would end in any major combat (I'd estimate maybe a half dozen sessions worth of content at 2-3 hours a pop?) . I'm sure there's valid combat in there later, but it definitely lives up to the claim that it can be played entirely non-violently. Any fights up to this point means you've done something VERY wrong in terms of interacting with friendly/neutral NPCs.
It's also a *little* on the wrong side of whimsical for me. There's bits and pieces that reflect the darker side of the fey (it's very hag-centric, the main villains being a coven of them) but there's also a LOT of Dandilion knights (literally a knight who is a dandilion) and other very silly things which...i don't quite know how i feel about. It's definitely one that you need to make sure your players are aware of the tone up front - if they go into this "swords blazing" and expect to fight their way through things as "plan A" then it's going to be an absolutely miserable experience I think.
Have you guys seen the YT channel where a horror artist colors Disney characters in a coloring book?
They also do spins on famous company logos that are very cool!

I have not, but it sounds cool. I'll have to check it out.
He has a tripophobia warning up front so I chickened out
Skip 2:55 to 5:45 pyxi
That was awesome.

Thanks for that. The players I play/run with tend to be quick to battle sometimes, but also very up for sometimes really quite silly digressions, so I think they'd be okay with this. Only thing is that some of them are rather sick of low-level D&D, having created far too many level 1 characters over the years (that said, a couple think level 1 is the best level for misadventure).
I go away for a day, and horrible things appear on the thread!
Today's prompt on my list is Lust from Full Metal Alchemist:
I watched about half of the original FMA series quite some time ago, and haven't seen Brotherhood at all. I can't remember why I stopped—probably sidetracked by something else.
Nice! I really like her hips/legs!
Here's mine:
On his twenty-second trial, the Battle Shrimp dueled with the Silver Salamander:
I'm sure the silver salamander has its own legends.
Today's drawing is of Claire Redfield from the Resident Evil series:
Another game series I'm familiar with but never played... I think. It's not impossible I played one of the early games briefly on a friend's console back in my school days. Or I watched them play.

Sounds like an art project for next October!

I had never played any Resident Evil games until last year, when I played the RE2 Remake, so I totally believe that. I have other weird "claim to fame" stories, like having never played a Zelda game, a Bioware game, or a Hideo Kojima game, or having Super Mario World for the SNES be the newest Mario game I've ever played. (Mario games in 3D? What is that?) Weird, right?
In any case, here's today's drawing:
On his twenty-third trial, the Battle Shrimp survived the Squid Game:
My wife and I finished the show a couple of nights ago. We liked it, but we were not as blown away by it as the rest of the world appears to be. Weird, right?
Only thing is that some of them are rather sick of low-level D&D, having created far too many level 1 characters over the years (that said, a couple think level 1 is the best level for misadventure).
Having the same problem with one of the players in my group, so I decided to try to adjust a campaign to start them all at level 8 this time around for out next tuesday game. Specifically "Out of the Abyss" because it's set in the underdark and is heavy in Drow and Demons so it shouldn't be too difficult to boost the difficulty from the start, since there's PLENTY of high level Drow and Demon statblocks to swap out.
Today's prompt, Bucky Barnes from Winter Soldier (and other films / TV shows):
I think strictly speaking this is Bucky from sometime after that film.
He's got the Wakanda arm
On his twenty-fourth trial, the Battle Shrimp annihilated the Arthropod Army:
This one was also inspired by a comic book artist I really like, Kenneth Rocafort, specifically one of his double-page spreads for the Velocity miniseries from a few years ago.
Today, Yasuho Hirose from "JoJolion", which is part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which is something I know nothing about!
So that's a drawing.
All I know about Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is the title... and that your drawing rocks!
Here's mine:
On his twenty-fifth trial, the Battle Shrimp captured the Rogue Jellyfish of Jonaros:
We're almost done! Just six more!
(Both me and the Battle Shrimp are running out of steam.)
That has gotta sting! Haven't you seen Finding Nemo?
I've seen it many times. One of my favorite Pixar movies!
Next, we have Cynthia from Pokémon:
Apparently a character who appears in multiple games? I know Pokémon, of course, though I've only briefly dabbled in a couple of titles, usually for about ten minutes before something else catches my attention.
I've never played a Pokemon game in my life, but I used to watch the original cartoon with my sister in the mid-nineties...
As for my drawing...
On his twenty-sixth trial, the Battle Shrimp befriended the Coral Colossus of Corsis:
Went with a slightly different approach. Not sure how I feel about it, but whatever --it's done. Five more to go!
Looks good, Mario. I'm guessing you were trying something a bit more impressionistic? (Or have I completely failed to spot what you did?!)
[Last night, checking the next prompt.]
"Vampirella? Sounds vaguely familiar..." [checks Google Images] "...I see. Hmm. Basically just a thong and collar huh? Ugh, maybe she has some alternative outfits that she won't freeze to death in..." [more searching] "...oh thank god, they redesigned her at some point."
[Back to present.]
Vampirella, from her self-titled comic, everyone:
Joking aside, I'm not really a prude (I think), but I wasn't hugely enthused by Vampirella's classic design—and it would have been a bit boring to draw. I like drawing clothes! They can be interesting to draw and texture, like long hair!
Thank you, Ravanon! "Impressionistic" is the exact same word I used when I told my wife what I was going for, so you totally got it. I'm still waaaaaay too beholden to lines and shapes to ever claim the label, but I did take a tiny, tiny step in that direction. It was fun!
Also, your Vampirella looks cool. I know the character, and I definitely know her iconic costume, but I don't think I have ever read any comic books with her in them. I also heard of the redesign, but I'm certainly less familiar with that look. And yes, drawing clothes is super fun!
Anyway. My drawing for today is done --I just have to color it, so I'll come back here in about an hour!
And I'm back!
On his twenty-seventh trial, the Battle Shrimp obtained the Trident of Teseidon!
And if you thought that was the witchblade for a second there, I don't blame you at all, because I modeled the trident after the famous mystical gauntlet. I used to have an almost complete run of the series until I sold it a few years ago. Good stuff, though!
A quick one today, because it's Thursday and I have less free time than usual on a Thursday.
Today's prompt is Gojo Satoru from "Jujutsu Kaisen":
Yep, don't know anything about this one.
Cool! All I know about that one is the title --I think I've seen it on Netflix, maybe?
On his twenty-eight trial, the Battle Shrimp surfed on the Mussel of Mondia:
