Back 4 Blood Catch All

I'm SpiffingWotwot#6063

Anyone else having issues with quick matching? I keep just getting bots.

I haven't had a problem with being matched with people, I just have had the problem with people staying in the game. If anything goes wrong they seem to quit right away. Sometimes when things aren't going wrong too, for that matter.

I'm jumping into the game myself, but DANG it's hard. The bf and I are playing together and the two bots are useless bullet sponges.

We definitely need to team up with people so I grabbed all the friend codes and put them in a spreadsheet:

Hi all! Been a while but hoping to play some B4B with fun peeps Please feel free to add me as a friend.

I am hoping to meet up for IGWJD today but I may not have enough time. Will see if I can get all my work done in time.

Is it weird I got to the first altered on easy and can’t win?

So what's the verdict?

I'm worried that people are going to basically play through the campaign a couple of times and then move on to the next game. Looking for a game with enough replayability for a goodjer community to form.

I finished the campaign tonight. I had a blast and my experience was a combo of randos and bots. In many ways, I enjoyed the bots as I could take my time going through the levels. However, there are a few levels where bots won’t cut it- I’m looking at you last mission of act 3 and the act 4 finale.

The card system, IMO, is great.

Certainly see replayability, however, the cost of admission for me is Gamepass so my barrier to entry is less. 16 h48 total time played.

If they fix up the PvP mode a bit with some obvious corrections, I might play this for years. Having a whole other set of nine specials to play as well as the L4D2 ones won’t get old for a while that way, especially as now there is a way to match up with eight players for some friendly games. Heck, I might even try coop mode someday.

It's pretty solid and when I've had a group together, it's worked great. But for whatever reason, there are few people playing this on my friends list and I can't seem to match up with the folx from this forum.

Has there been any response from the devs on expanding the multiplayer via FLC or DLC?

Nothing new. They have a Trello set to public where you can see items move from to-do to released/live, but there’s nothing there about new features yet, just tweaks and fixes. All they have formally said about the DLCs is that they will contain new maps, humans, playable zombie classes, “and more”. The other notable thing about the DLCs is that you don’t have to buy them; coop stuff is hostshared and PvP stuff is unlockable through play, presumably with supply points.

Ok, trying out B4B. My computer is older, and I've got some stuttering. When I go in the graphics settings, the resolution is locked out. Any idea how to enable it so I can lower it a bit?

you don't want to lower your resolution but the overall graphics settings like to medium or low depending on graphics card

Anyone interested in doing a veteran run? Running with randos is NOT cutting it on higher difficulties for me.

Scroll down and look for the "Resolution Scale" slider in the Advanced Settings. That's how you accomplish the same thing now, except it just changes the internal rendering resolution without changing your display output resolution.

If your screen is 1080p and you lower that slider from 100 to 66, you'll be rendering the game at 720p, but still outputting a 1080p signal to your monitor. That's much cleaner than the old way of trying to force lower resolution by changing your screen resolution.

It's a weird game to release into the 2021 multiplayer coop/shooter/looter space and expect it to have legs. While some may not like it, it's been pretty well established that the best way to retain both player base and interest is through some kind of long term progression and/or battle pass mechanic. The card system is in some ways something to "grind" for as are the higher tier difficulties, but there's no real permanent progression or "carrot" to keep someone like me playing.

I look at something like Deep Rock Galactic or Vermintide 2 and they both have versions of exotic weapon progression as well as permanent cosmetic and character progression. There's just none of that here. In a very crowded space, there's just no reason for me to come back when I wasn't engaged with the mechanics or gameplay from the beginning. Sadly it doesn't seem like Turtle Rock has adapted to modern engagement practices. I see this going the way of Evolved by early next year.

Of course not. They wanted people who still love L4D to buy it. If it had any of that, I wouldn’t have given it another look after E3.

For me, a great throwback game I can periodically dive back into.

So I’m just getting started in B4B…and I still feel a little new around here. Is it rude to just add all the usernames people put in this thread and send friend requests/invites?

I’m working on the solo mode but I’d love to get in some runs with actual humans.

Add away, I still haven't caught anyone else on.

Roadmap
IMAGE(https://news.xbox.com/en-us/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2021/11/Back-4-Blood-Post-Launch-Content-Roadmap.jpg)

Solo progression is nice to finally show up but still not enough for me to actually pay for anything on this game.

HUGE Patch coming....right now?

Patch notes

For Swarmers like me:

- Yea, statistics for Swarm.
- Yea, less admin time before Swarm rounds!
- Yea, see teammates’ spawn timers.
- BUT do rounds still end with no Supply Points for winning team if opponents quit after round 1 ends? Guess we'll find out soon.

Oh man, time to update and see if the game will finally launch!
