That said, he may be able to use OBJ more than Baker.
In other news, Ravens get TE Nick Boyle back from IR. He's their premier blocking TE, which I'm sure all the league is happy hearing he's back.
Is that not beer? Am I not getting drunk? Is the sarcasm not coming out?
Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of Baker, but I don't think that CK is the answer, unless the question is "how quickly can we tank for a top 5 pic?"
lol My bad. I think it was the one beer that threw me off. I think many beers are needed.
I'm struggling to read folks atm because I'm currently arguing in the politics forum that assassinating people is maybe not an okay suggestion to make.
Discussing; you are discussing and debating whether it is okay to suggest assassination is okay.
Well it looks like Keenum is starting. If he wins, do we have a QB controversy in CLE?

I don't think Baker has been nearly bad enough for that.
Just looking at his numbers this year: 67% completion, 6 TDs, 3 INTs, 8.5 YPA, and a 97.8 passer rating that's actually the best of his career so far.
Granted, some other numbers tell a less shining story. That TD rate is well beneath his average, and unlike his passer rating, his QBR is currently the worst of his career. That's probably in large part due to his sack rate, which at 9.4% is way above his career average. It's not quite Rob Johnson territory, but it's not good.
Still, Case Keenum's peak career performance level isn't all that different from Baker's performance right now. If he's anything less than the Keenum from that one magic Minnesota year, I don't think Baker's job is in serious jeopardy. In 2021, at least.
I am personally looking forward to the Case Keenum era. :drink:
Can I interest you in one Jordan Love?
I'll take that previous offer.

No thanks. I'll just wait for #12 to become a free agent. I bet he would look good with an orange helmet covering that sweet, sweet mullet.

Minnesota: "You back the f**k off, Cleveland. Being tormented for a decade-and-a-half by a star Packers QB, and then getting one magical year out of him in purple on his way to the Hall of Fame is our birthright."
"You can have Cousins, assuming Zimmer doesn't strangle him to death first."
No thanks, Cousins-19 will ruin what little progress Cleveland as a city has made against the virus
The 2022 QB draft class is apparently looking kinda rough.
PFF’s latest early mock draft has no QBs going in the top 10. They have Malik Willis from Falwell Cult University as the first QB off the board at #11, Ole Miss’s Matt Corral at #20, and UNC’s Sam Howell at #28.
No Rattler, no Carson Strong, and no Burrow/Zach Wilson-like one year wonders surging into the picture yet.
Obviously, Fresno State’s Jake Haener should be up there, but besides that, it’s looking lean.

No love for Brennan Armstrong? sad times.

What positions are deep? My understanding is that it is supposed to be one of the strongest drafts in recent memory.

I think the expectation for Armstrong is that he will be in the 2023 draft, not 2022.

Cornerback is, according to PFF, "loaded".
Both offensive and defensive line groups are expected to be strong. Defensive line in particular bouncing back after a lesser year last draft (which had iffy edge rushers, and had zero defensive tackles taken in round 1).
Safety also is expected to put some players into round 1 after back-to-back years with no round 1 safeties.
Wide receiver comes back down to earth after two amazing draft classes, but there's still a decent talent level expected.
The Ravens tried to fill Ronnie Stanley's roster spot by claiming an offensive lineman that the Cowboys released, offensive tackle Brandon Knight.
Knight refused to report to Baltimore, and the Ravens have confirmed he isn't joining the team over "personal reasons".
The Cowboys were releasing Knight with the expectation he would clear waivers and be available to re-sign to their practice squad. As it stands, Knight goes onto the Ravens reserve/did-not-report list. So he's not getting to Dallas's practice squad unless Baltimore chooses to let him go.
Of course, Knight has the ability to report later, and force the Ravens to either roster him (at which point they might no longer want to, as they've already filled their 53 with someone else) or let him go.
Little bit of bottom-of-the-roster drama.
Anyway, the Ravens signed veteran offensive guard James Carpenter to fill the roster spot Knight refused.
