Do I want to know who owns Liverpool?
Do I want to know who owns Liverpool?
But was it wet and cold?
Regarding Mbappé's goal, which seemed like an offside.
“Next year we have a World Cup in November, we have to play maybe until the latter stages of June again. We will get injured,” added Courtois. “So in the end top players will get injured and injured and injured. It’s something that should be much better and much more taken care of.”Uefa has opposed the plan for more frequent World Cups and the proposed European Super League, but Courtois said the European organising body was not interested in player welfare either as they too keep adding to the fixture calendar, including with the Nations League. “They are against Super League but they just do the same, they put extra games. They made an extra trophy. It is always the same,” added the Belgian. “They can be angry about other teams wanting a Super League but they don’t care about the players, they just care about their pockets.”
Footballers ‘sick’ of racial abuse and should keep taking knee, says Demi Stokes
I completely understand her position here, but I increasingly agree with the players who've said they're going to stop. Not because they're not interested in the fight, but because taking the knee is broadly, symbolic. And there's nothing wrong with symbolic gestures, but symbolic gestures can easily be neutered and turned into empty gestures devoid of any actual meaning. I don't think there's anything WRONG with taking the knee, but I do think the focus and energy needs to start being turned to actual action, not a symbolic gesture that could end up having as much impact and meaning, long term, as UEFA's "Kick It Out" campaign.
Boy howdy, Hungary and their fans, huh?

Not sure the Albanian fans covered themselves in glory either
A shame really, I thought Hungary played really quite well last night. Definitely a lot of complacency in England’s play.
The USMNT were bad until they were good!
Best Canadian men's performance I've ever seen. (Though that's not saying much).
I will confess, going down within ~5 minutes, I did worry that the spectre of teams of old could be rearing its head.
Quite a pleasurable start to the season in West London, although this still has the slight waft of "another year in the playoffs."
Defibs everywhere. Ev-er-y-where.
(Once again, GOD I can't believe Fulham couldn't be better than Newcastle last year.)
Thankfully that fan seems to be making a full recovery. Exemplary behaviour from the players though to make sure that defib got there as soon as possible.
As for the football - back down to Earth with a bump in these parts. Predictable unfortunately, I do think Newcastle have a better team than 3rd from bottom, but the type of manager Newcastle need right compared to what they’d probably like are quite some distance apart. I honestly think they could do a lot worse than someone like Chris Wilder. Maybe poach Dean Smith from Villa.
Gotta feel for Bruce a little.
Manchester United: Why Cristiano Ronaldo is a bigger problem than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer right now
Not the first time I've seen this take. It seems insane, but I think it's genuinely fair to wonder if the greatest goalscorer in football right now hinders teams more than he helps them.
Prooooobably shouldn't get that angry at your teammates.

One of the other factors here now is Newcastle. The longer Man U leave it, the more likely their first choices will be more interested in joining up with them I think. Assuming they don’t end the season relegated of course.
Ronaldo really hasn’t done Man U any favours.
You can find many attacking players that contribute zero to defense (the other GOAT for example).
It's just a question of knowing how to adapt to them (in case making them adapt to what is needed is impossible). It's not an easy task, sure, but that's what coaches are for and the current one doesn't seem to be the best man for that.
With that said, CR7 is imo at a point where he should be a sub, to unlock a game, to be used whenever goals are required. We keep getting bombard with messages about how young and fit he is. Clearly, he isn't. Age applies to everyone. Good luck with convincing him though. Zidane managed to work with him a scheme to reduce his workload and it worked real nice.
Bonkers game against Liverpool and Atletico tonight, both teams excelling in attack and forgetting how to defend properly. Mo Salah is in an astounding turn of form, but goal of the night belonged the Naby Keita’s cracking volley for Liverpool’s second. It was as good as his attempts at ‘defending’ were utterly terrible.
Atletico’s penalty that wasn’t? Some times you see them given, sometimes you don’t. I also can’t help wondering if their players had reacted slightly more maturely to Griezmann being sent off, the ref might not have changed his mind.
haha wow that's nuts!
What's Norwegian for "you're getting sacked in the morning"?

Things that have aged poorly!
EDIT: Nevertheless, I remain suspicious that United are, and I know this is insane, not necessarily "better" with him, despite the fact that he can and will score those goals.
