A place to discuss the now-global coronavirus outbreak.
Are you hiring software developers with cybersecurity experience?
Actually yes. There are no options for you to travel right now though. That will change over the next couple of months so keep you eyes on the news.

I've never had sheep dip...
You'd love it. It's great with cow chips mate.
Sigh. Bruce has the right of it - we're getting big upswings in vaccination rates because I think everyone realises COVID is endemic and the weariness generally is now at a point, whether one agrees with it or not, that there will be "acceptable" losses with a vaccinated public. This is no comfort to the immunocompromised though or any child under 12 not presently eligible for the vaccine.
In the leadup to partial relaxation of the rules, I saw parties in the streets in breach of the rules. Today I saw too many people without masks. I just hope we don't lose too many people that could otherwise have been saved if people had more discipline.
Gold Coast woman charged over allegedly issuing hundreds of fake COVID-19 medical exemptions
A 45-year-old woman has been arrested on the Gold Coast and charged with allegedly pretending to be a doctor and issuing fake "medical exemption" certificates for COVID-19.The certificates state a person is exempt from undergoing COVID testing, receiving a vaccine and wearing a mask.
Bleh.
You'll never guess which Alaska state senator just tested positive for COVID.
She'll be OK, though. She's taking horse paste and vitamins.
I hope she is. And I hope she is avoiding the hospital. There are far better people that need treatment.
77% of Americans over 12 have gotten at least one dose and we're chugging along at an average of 750,000 vaccinations a day.
We're pretty much at the point where anti-vaxxers are in their version of Hitler's Bunker just trying to psyche each other up because every mandate has pretty much shown that 99%+ of employees will get vaccinated when push comes to shove.
And why in the world would this woman use restaurants for her fake story? There's been studies that have shown food workers and line cooks got absolutely f*cked up by COVID and there's a mini-revolution happening at restaurants where workers are realizing they don't have to put up with sh*t pay, shrieking customers, and management that doesn't care about their health and safety.
IF there was an owner who owned five restaurants in one airport and IF none of their workers showed up it would be because they were a terrible boss who paid their workers next to nothing not because all of the workers didn't want to get vaccinated.
I love how consecutive lines of the story have her immediately contradicting herself.
Reached by phone, Long said she had heard about an employee revolt against a vaccine mandate at DIA and did not attempt to determine if it was true before sharing it on social media.
“I’m not a reporter,” Long said. “That’s your job.”
Long warned 9NEWS against airing a fact-check of her claim.
“I would not run this story if you consider libel a threat,” Long said.
"I didn't check to see if it's true. That's your job."
"Don't you dare check to see if this is true! I don't care if it's your job!"
CNBC isn’t usually knows for their hot takes, but: r/HermanCainAward is saving lives by scaring antivaxxers with facts.
As social creatures, I never understand why liberals want to abandon humanity’s most efficient tool - public shaming - in times of crisis. Especially since the conservatives have weaponized public shaming so well.
If I was still using facebook, the first thing I would do is retweet r/hermancainawards. Everyday for sure but possibly several times a day. Certain if there were important updates...
We have all got to do this collectively to at least sandbag some of the wave of misinformation.

I like that the interviewee says that she was done "playing" when she finally decided to get vaccinated. All this antivaxx stuff seems like a sick game to me.
Practically everything majorly wrong with this country is a sick game played by adults acting like infantiles. "I don't wanna." "I know you are but what am I?" "You can't make me!" "Ooh busted!" "I'm taking the ball and going home." "You think you're so smart." "You've got cooties." "You're not one of us."

"My previous infection means I'm 1000x more protected that any vaccine can give me!"
I get an eye tick like Chief Inspector Dreyfus whenever I hear people talk about "natural immunity" vs what they think is a fake or artificial immunity provided by the vaccines. You can tell they have absolutely no idea how their own immune system works or that humanity figured out vaccines so we wouldn't have to watch our loved ones die horribly.

Lol, this is my sister in law. She is also not going to vaccinate her kids even though her oldest daughter eligible.
My boss is about to pull his high school age student out of her private school of many years, if Gov. Northam mandates vaccines for students... And yet, of course, he insists that everyone should make their own choice.
Cleveland Clinic denies woman liver transplant over COVID vaccine
“We were told to get ready,” said Angela Green, “Then we get the news we were taken off the list and we can’t do it without the vaccine and it was heartbreaking.”The entire family opposes the COVID-19 vaccine for religious and medical concerns.
This level of stupidity amazes me. I think the clinic is doing the right thing and screw these people.

Maybe nab one of these just in case?
She's, like, 17, but sure.
Which religion is against vaccination?
https://www.vumc.org/health-wellness...
This was published in 2013 back when it was vaccination causing autism that needed to pushed back against.
I'm not aware of any doctrines being changed in the last 8 years with any of the major Christian denominations, so it seems like they are talking out of their ass when they claim religious exemption on this one.
