Post a quote, that could have just been text but instead for some stupid reason is an image, entertain me!

The last one hits close to home. Usually the only reason I, as a coach, am late to practice is due to my son making us late ("Wait, I forgot to fill my water bottle. Wait, I can't find my helmet").

Sharks before trees? I guess this was an era before land?

There were plants on land, but they hadn't yet evolved lignin, which gave them the structural strength to grow taller.

And then it took bacteria a few million more years to evolve a method to break down lignin. So all the dead trees between those two events left behind undecomposed plant matter. Bury it all, wait a few hundred million years, and you get coal.

It's obviously D.

A is usually done as part of a predetermined plan. Which would mean they have been aware of the danger for a while and are executing the plan. Therefore not part of an imminent danger.
B would not be done during an imminent danger because you would need life support if something goes horribly wrong.
C would take hours and therefore is not useful for anything imminent.

D would imply the Borg, therefore imminent danger.

I call foul. I don't see anything about a subspace dampening field.

Or tachyon emissions from the main deflector array. I can only assume that had already been tried before this question was asked.

There's no mention of either warp travel or communications, so there's no reason to assume that subspace phenomena are involved.

B is valid under certain conditions. Temporarily endangering the crew to boost power for a one-time tactic is supported by Star Trek canon. In TNG S05E01 Redemption II Data, in command of a task force ship, allows radiation to flood crew compartments temporarily so he can use weapons to reveal cloaked Romulans in Federation space.

That's true, but also that was Data. That situation is an exception rather than the norm.

The answer is E. Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow.

No. Missing out on 15 years of my kids youth wouldn't be worth it.

Depends on how much butt stuff was involved.

"Sure thing aliens, but there better be a lot of butt stuff, ok?"

It's mostly just empty space.

My kids would be hurt by that!

Not what I meant! But my answer would also be "No" for the same reason.

When those kids turn into teenagers you may be building that ET phone to call the aliens back...

You know, if I was older (much older, like 90 or 100 or something), then this would be an amazing opportunity. You would get to see space, plus you'd get to come back and discover what happened over the next 15 years for your family, and the world in general. In a way it would artificially extend your life.
