If it's clear the chair can't maintain order they'll gavel the meeting to recess and the board members will leave the stage and the live stream will be cut.

The average MAGAt navigating Robert's Rules of Order would be as entertaining as a monkey trying to solve a Rubik's Cube.

That's deeply unfair to monkeys.

Speaking of grifts

Capitol riot defendants raise more than $2 million from crowdfunding

Dozens of alleged Capitol rioters have tapped into this grassroots support, bringing in more than $2 million for legal fees and personal expenses, including some who have raised six-figure sums, according to CNN's tally. Pleas for financial help for the defendants charged in the Capitol attack are posted on more than 100 crowdfunding sites.
Eight defendants facing federal charges have raised at least $100,000, according to CNN's analysis.
The right-wing Infowars talk show host Owen Shroyer has netted the most rapid gains. Shroyer was charged in August in connection with the Capitol attack, and days later his self-created fundraising campaign on GiveSendGo totaled more than $230,000.

I'm actually fine with this. The more resources that are drained from these people the better.

IMHO that is providing material support to terrorists.

3 officers, 2 paramedics charged in Elijah McClain death. If you don't recall Elijah McClain is the young man that was murdered by police and medics for the crime of walking home. If you like watching people tortured and pleading for their life you can watch the video on youtube. If I'm not mistaken this actually happen before George Floyd was murdered and they are just now being charged.

Surprising no one except Joe Manchin, the winning Trump card design is the one that doesn't have an American flag and looks most like what you'd expect a Nazi to carry.

“Tiny” Toese of the Proud Boys was shot in the foot by a counterprotestor at a rally in Olympia today. Between this and the Proud Boy opening fire at a crowd in Portland a couple weeks looks like things may be reaching a new stage of escalation.

EDIT: this just happened and details are still a bit hazy. Tiny was actively assaulting people at the time and it’s unclear whether it was friendly fire or he was shot in self defense.

Please tell me his surname is pronounced like “toes” so his new nickname would be Tinier

We sure he didn’t accidentally shoot his own foot? That’s probably where I’d put my money.

Jim Acosta Blasts ‘Human Manure Spreader’ Tucker Carlson for Pushing Yet Another ‘Race Baiting’ Theory

Jim Acosta is calling out Tucker Carlson’s unsubstantiated claims yet again. This time the CNN host decided not to mince words, labeling Carlson as a “human manure spreader” for his insistence that Afghan refugees are being welcomed into this country in order to influence the outcome of future elections.

“Leading figures on the far right have been sounding the alarm on Afghanistan evacuees all week,” Acosta said on his Saturday CNN show. “The refugees are coming! The refugees are coming!”

“Over on Fox, human manure spreader Tucker Carlson has floated yet another race baiting conspiracy theory that tens of thousands of Afghan refugees are being welcomed into this country in order to change the outcome of future elections,” he said.

I was gonna say. Most gunshots to the foot are from accidental discharges of still-holstered or being-drawn weapons.

It’s still unclear what happened beyond the facts that he was suddenly shot while attacking someone, despite it being caught on at least two livestreams, but it doesn’t really matter anymore because the Proud Boys org released an official statement saying “a communist” did it while Tiny was “exercising his freedoms” and all the chatter in the Pee Boys groups has settled on the narrative that it was black bloc antifa. This means there’s going to be more guns on both sides at the next rally and an even greater chance of more violence.

Eleven insurrectionist Republicans who are quaking in their boots about what their telecommunications records will reveal just sent the following letter to the heads of Amazon, AOL, Apple, AT&T, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Snap, T-Mobile, Twitter, U.S. Cellular Corporation, Verizon, and Yahoo!.

Proving once again that they are truly the best and the brightest they sent this letter to Marissa Mayer who left Yahoo! in June 2017.

The DA in the Ahmaud Arbery Case is being indicted. Arbery was jogger that was chased down and murdered by two white guys. The DA is being indicted for mishandling the case. I don't think this will go anywhere but I'm shocked that even this happen.

I still can’t get over how Matt Gaetz hasn’t been shamed out of Congress yet.

There is no end to bottom out on here.

It's petty to note this, but Madison Cawthorn's signature looks like my 12 year old's handwriting.

Man, it's a Who's Who of right wing traitor sh*tbags.

What happened to "if you did nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide?"

And Mo Brooks got the big-boy Sharpie.

Cop could go to jail for 20 years for whistleblowing. He released a video showing a murder of a black man by his fellow officers.
Punish the good ones

The whistleblower has been on desk duty for over a year. Nothing happen to the officers that murdered the man but entire department is being investigated for civil rights violations.

Good ol' Blue Wall.

tl;dr - Nasty school board meeting makes board member vent on GWJ

We had a school board meeting last night (I'm on the board in a suburb of 40,000). I got to experience first-hand the wrath of the anti-mask minority. They were rude, disrespectful, and... oh, so patriotic.

Fortunately we had a sizable group of teachers and community supporters attend as well. It shouldn't be a surprise, but I was struck in the moment by the dichotomy of the two groups. The supporters were obviously educated, well-behaved, and middle class. The antis appeared, with few exceptions, to be lower class in demeanor and dress.

I try not to judge people and give everyone a chance but, when taken as a whole, the difference in impression was impossible to avoid. The antis are struggling. Life, especially the pandemic, has not been kind to them and they are lashing out. They've been convinced that government is the problem. The White House is too far away. Even our state capitol is an inconvenience. But attacking their neighbors on the school board at the local high school is easy.

I sympathize with their situations, which led to a mistake I won't repeat. During my remarks I thanked them for coming and noted that this was democracy in action. They jeered and responded by demanding that I change my vote on masks. I pointed out that polls at national and state level show they are in the minority and they screamed that the polls are fake. Anytime a board member mentioned the CDC or MN Dept. of Health, there was booing.

Some individuals repeatedly disrupted the meeting with their "proof" that masks don't work, and claimed we weren't responding to their many emails and voicemails (not true; the superintendent responds on behalf of the board once, then simply acknowledges replies if they're not satisfied... and they're never satisfied).
They promise to vote against our much needed operating levy this fall if we don't rescind our mask mandate. Like they could convince me they were ever going to vote yes. It's all just exhausting.

So I'm done. Done being nice. Done pretending to respect their anti-science views. Done with attempting to reason with people who live in a fantasy world. Done thanking them for interrupting my day job to voice their opinions. I respect them as human beings, and will treat them with courtesy as long as they do the same. But I could not give any less of a sh!t about their links to conspiracies that prove I'm wrong. I'm done giving them any more of my time.

My term goes another three-plus years. I have no aspirations of running again so their threats to vote me out, or even recall me, would be a blessing. But I'm not quitting. I'm going to vote my conscience until January 2025 or until the fascists manage to remove me. Because that's democracy.

Sorry it was so unpleasant... not that it is surprising.

Thanks for serving.

You're a better man than I am, JLS. So, so, so much better.

I would have lost my gd mind when they screamed the polling was fake. I would have called them all petulant, bratty little children for constantly insisting that everything that didn't go their way was fake or fraud and told them all they just need to shut the f*ck up and let the adults in the room handle things.

Kudos to you, JLS!

You’re a scholar and a gentleman JLS. I’d hope that the police would step in to keep the crowd calmer (I’ve seen that council meetings talking about police reform of course) but it all depends on your area if that’s remotely realistic.
