It's a dell optiplex 7010 with gig of ram

Looks like it was released in 2012. For me, the servers my company tosses from time to time could run circles around that. Personally I think you'd save time and effort pulling the drive (or wiping it thoroughly with a different system) then donating it to a thrift store.

However, if you fancy just fixing it, I found the fan over on eBay for $7-$8, and at least 2 more at parts resellers for $6-$11.

Seems there's some variation in that fan, so I'd just pop it open and take a peak before ordering anything.

thanks for the links, i'll look into them when i have some time. i know it's hardly new, i'm just trying to get into the hands of someone who needs a basic productivity computer.

I'm looking for a video card, anything above an nvidia 1060 would be fine. My son's desktop computer has a 1080 and it's been slowly dying for a long time. It's at the point now where it essentially doesn't work - you turn the computer on and just get a black screen no matter what you do.

I've tried replacing the motherboard (which doesn't have a built-in video card), using different monitors, different cables, etc etc and I've basically narrowed it all the way down to the video card. Unfortunately video cards, when you can find them at all, are all a good $500 more expensive than they should be, and I can't spend that much. I really just need something as a stopgap until prices come back down to normal. If anyone has anything older collecting dust in your closet I'll pay you for it, along with the shipping.

Cleaning out the basement and I have a couple of things to offer:

Oculus Rift CV1 VR headset - includes controllers, two sensors, headset, original box
- $75 shipped or best offer

TP-Link Archer C7 Router - used a couple of years, but was working just fine when we upgraded
- Free, just pay shipping. I'd rather offer it up to someone who could use it, otherwise it'll get donated

Would that be a good headset for sim racing?

My guess - for the price, it's a brilliant headset for sim racing.

Downsides are large amount of screen-door effect (but you'll probably get used to that), and lower resolution than current headsets. But again, trade those off against the price and it seems like a great deal.

One caveat - might wanna check your rig will run it in VR OK: I'm still on a GTX 1070 (cos finding a 30-series cards requires blood sacrifices) and I wouldn't go much lower than that - I'm getting 50-60fps in RRRE, which isn't ideal, but again, worth the tradeoff for me for massively increased immersion and feel for the car. If you've got a more recent GPU, you'll be in great shape.

I've got a 1070 so hopefully it'll work. The price is throwing me off. I didn't know if it was some kind of alpha build that barely works, but it looks like it's just the first gen headset.

Price is on par with Ebay, albeit with a little Goodjer discount in there. Which makes sense given that you can get a Quest 2 for $300 with no wire and higher res displays - obviously craters the price on used CV1 headsets.

I've got a CV1 and have used it in Project Cars to great effect. It works with just about everything, from No Man's Sky to Half-Life: Alyx to Walkabout Mini Golf.

What it doesn't work for are the newest Star Wars games, like Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, or anything else that's Quest exclusive. Apparently it's a thing Facebook is doing to promote the Quest and try to get rid of anything wired.

Exactly - it's the first gen headset, which I no longer use after upgrading to the Rift S. I used it almost exclusively for flight sims, which are arguably more intensive than racing sims. I did play some Project Cars 2 and Euro Truck Simulator with it, and it worked great. That was with a 1070Ti and i5 4590.

I figure it'll cost about $20-$25 to ship, so at $75 I'm making a bit back but passing it on to a Goodjer at a great price. Tried to make it win-win.

That'll work, but be prepared to pull your graphics sliders to the left (compared to where you've got them currently) in order to maintain framerate. But I've been successfully racing in VR for over a full season with that 1070. It's not perfect, but it's good enough.

The only thing that might concern me with the CV1 (which I'm currently using as well) for sim racing is that instrumentation is sometimes barely legible, if at all. I haven't tried any of the racing games, but I know this is an issue for me in XPlane 11. I have to use a third-party app that forces supersampling on the Rift to make some of the instruments clear enough to be usable.

I also have a Radeon HD6850 video card that is comfortably nestled in an antistatic bag, inside a box that is gathering dust, if anyone is interested. It's a Gigabyte card. Looks like they're going for $35-$40 on eBay.

Does anyone have a disc of yoshi's wooly world for wiiu tbat they want to sell? My daughter had it from thr library and wants to buy a copy.

Hey all. I've got the following, lightly used Razer devices:

Gone

Sold

Long shot but figured I'd rather consider buying from a GWJer over random online since I'm newly crawling into the hobby.

I'm looking at getting into RC more. Currently looking at possibly starting with either Traxxas Slash (2WD/4WD), Axial SCX10, TRX4, and maybe Redcat. If there is a chance anyone here is looking at selling these, or another decent starter truck, let me know.

Also, if anyone is knowledgeable enough you might want to be willing to be a contact for me possibly starting an afterschool option for students at my school that'd be helpful too.

I have some hardware I'd like to unload.

First, a Fanatec wheel.

It's a CSL Elite, which is their more affordable wheel from a few years ago. They no longer sell this - they currently have the CSL DD, which is an affordable direct drive model. The CSL DD base is $350 by itself, but I'm offering this whole kit for $350. It includes the CSL Elite base, the XBox wheel, the CSL Elite pedals, and an added pedal with a load cell brake.

I am asking for anyone who is interested to contribute at least a portion of the shipping, as the wheel, the base, the pedals, and the load cell brake all have their own boxes. The photos all detail the cosmetic flaws of the wheel, but there is absolutely nothing functionally wrong with the wheel. I just don't do racing sims anymore.

This is all I have for the moment, but I will be back soon with more stuff.
