[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

Hmm… Maybe I should incorporate hand-over-mouth gestures into my everyday demeanor.

I just realized why I don’t.

BECAUSE THAT’S HOW YOU GET SICK! STOP TOUCHING YOUR FACE! THERE’S A PLAGUE RUNNING RAMPANT THROUGHOUT THE GLOBE!

Also, progressives still wear masks in public, so they’re clearly not putting their hands over their mouths.

Found this at my local McDonald’s. Pissed me off for dozens of reasons and I don’t even know the man.

What a nightmare of a country this is. The guns, to start with. The fact that he doesn’t just get healthcare for the bullet caused by the Wild West attitude to guns. We could live in a better world. We just have to choose it and convince 70% of Americans to join us.

You really just need to convince like 4 billionaires and youre good.

They're too busy with their own space race that has barely accomplished more than what we first did in the 60's.

bright side -- space is still dangerous. Maybe we'll lose a billionaire or two.

B b b but private industry!

Aside from the obvious: the gun violence, the lack of healthcare as a universal right, the fact that a billion dollar corporation regards its employees as disposable and doesn't have to give them insurance, the fact that his local store is forced to hold a one-night fundraiser to help him cover his bills (the other McDonalds closer to me in the white neighborhood is helping the predominately white high school and their predominately white choir go to NY with a similar fundraiser), etc., I find that there is something callous about the 15%.

How much is this man's life worth? This man, who according to the poster is "one of our own", how much is that worth? 15% of sales for 3 hours.

And yes, I know that this is a standard fundraiser at McDonald's. But shouldn't there be a difference between sending kids to NY to see some broadway musicals and making sure this kid lives?

Don't worry, the Free Market will accurately determine the value of that child's life.

Almost as much time in space as John Glenn's flight in Friendship 7. Virgin have caught up to Feb 20, 1962.

No. They will just leave their ill gotten assets to others, making potentially more billionaires.

And those who inherit rather than make (note that I didn't say earn) their fortunes are generally even worse.

If you can’t take pleasure in the idea of billionaires dying in space, then sadly you should probably unsubscribe from my newsletter

Can it just be the billionaires though. I don't want the crew to die too.

They could do an Among Us air lock trick?

Vaccination rates in Belgium. The French speaking part is clearly visible and more heavily influenced by the substantial anti-vaxx movement in France. The vaccination rates are lower in Brussels (center of map) and Antwerp (city near the top) because of lower age brackets, and lower willingness to vaccinate among minorities.

edit: a bit more nuance feels necessary for the lower vaccination rates among minorities. There is certainly a religious component at work sometimes, but also lower digital literacy and language barriers for first generation immigrants. Plus the population is super diverse, with EU citizens from many different countries, Middle-Eastern and North-African immigrants, ... making reach-out to these communities extra challenging because of all the different languages.

Oh! Is he supposed to be a space cowboy?

See ya, space cowboy! And by that I mean good riddance. We don’t want you here.

I am surprised he isn't up there just helicoptering his dick.

It's much less aerodynamically efficient than a rocket.

1900-1945 may have produced the most visible self-destruction we’ve wreaked on ourselves, but the entrenchment of modern marketing and neoliberalism from 1950-1990 laid the groundwork for our deathblow, which will be inflicted by end-state capitalism.

We were all born in the f*ck Around generation and our kids are born in the Find Out one.

There was a guy who I worked with some years ago. He was a nice guy, but arch-conservative and a born-again Christian who felt it his duty to convert people. He was a big fan of Santorum, and didn't much like it when I explained what the word meant.

I was talking to him about being young and he was commenting that he grew up near New Orleans. He used to bartend at Pat O'Briens in the French Quarter. I started laughing. It was fine for him to work in a "den of vice" when he was young, but his kids had to be homeschooled because of the sinful influences of public school? That sh*t makes my brain hurt.
