Genshin Impact Gacha-of-the-Wild All

Latest leaks on the Electro Traveler's abilities

It should be noted that this might give us a little insight to Baal's elemental burst:

Ameno Traveler's skill created a small area that sucks enemies in, Venti's burst created a large area.

Geo Traveler's skill created a small meteor, Zhongli's burst created a huge meteor.

We don't know if this was intentional or just a happy accident (Jean and Sucrose don't also have similar ameno-based crowd control abilities too, after all).

Oh, very interesting -- I hadn't seen all those details yet. It makes a lot of sense in retrospect given the theme of the electro element so far, but basically electro Traveller will be the ultimate battery (at least until we see what the other new electro characters' kits will be). Kind of makes all these 80 energy ultimates make a bit more sense.

I'm glad to see they've added some extra pity protection to the weapon banner, but after reading into it further, it leaves a lot to be desired. You don't get to guarantee the weapon you want until your 3rd 5*, the pity currency resets on each weapon banner. It's only good for whales. If it worked for your 2nd 5* and carried over between banners, I might have actually considered rolling on that banner. This isn't good enough. The only way I can see myself rolling now is if I'm very interested in both 5* weapons on a banner.

What would be interesting would be if you got a 50/50 shot at getting a "5-star box" where you could pick one of the two, and if you lost the 50/50 you just got one random 5-star that wasn't rated up on the banner. And if you lose the 50/50 once, then the next 5-star would be that "box".

This is of course wishful thinking. I don't think they'd ever do this, but it's the only way I could think to make it fairer and still offer two weapons on one banner.

That would make less money.

Yep. For all the many things I love about this game, the parts designed around extracting money from the players continue to suck. I've said it before, and it remains true: If the gacha elements were better designed and/or more reasonably priced, I would have spent way more money on this game than I have.

Me: Finally reached level 8 reputation in Liyue.

Also, with as much as I invested in Rosaria and Jean, I'm just really loving running around with this team when doing dailies and farming artifacts, etc.

Zhongli shields, Bennett lays down his buff, Fischl throws out Oz and Sucrose swirls everything and the fight is often over before I know it. Too much fun.

BTW, is the official ship name for Bennett and Fischl "Fishnett" or "BenneFischl"?

Both are quite strong.

They released some info on the gardening in the pot. Looks like the plots of land only hold 4 flowers of a certain kind and it takes a couple days for them to grow. Wonder how many plots you can buy and also the load they take up if you can put down a bunch of them. Not really worth it if you can't plant a bunch at once to harvest. The way you get the seeds is either for 5 realm currency each or when you pick a flower in the wild, it also gives you a seed if you have the seed bag equipped. Hopefully it will give you a seed when you pick your own plants in the pot too so you don't have to buy or pick them in the wild each time which would also make it pretty pointless.

Yeah, it's all about the load required for me -- I don't want to remove anything from my current setup.

My teapot has been coming together nicely, just need to fill in a couple empty spaces and add some foliage to the outside (still haven't started decorating the inside of the house).

But I don't know what to do with the fourth area of my teapot... guess it'll be farmland!

This has been my go-to exploration team for a while now.

Mona + Venti makes short work of any enemy groups I come across. Ning deals single target damage. Anemo resonance increases Mona's already great movement capabilities, and Ning's minimap ore talent has resulted in me accumulating way more ore through exploration than I ever would otherwise. I never take her out of my exploration party for that reason alone.

I remember being bummed when I pulled Mona as my first (and second) standard banner 5*, but between her great synergy with Ganyu and her speed, she has become one of my most used characters. I made a little comparison video just to see how fast she actually is.

It looks like she's about 25% faster than Jean on top of being able to sprint for a longer period of time before running out of stamina. Once you figure out how to not get stuck on things, which is a pain a first, it's really nice. I think Ayaka is going to have a similar sprint, so presumably she will also come with buffed movement speed.

Funny, I just recently finally got around to leveling Mona, basically because I got curious about trying out Ganyu/Mona comps. I probably would have done it much sooner, but I'm not really a fan of her aesthetics. But hey, we've finally got skins going now, so maybe she'll get something that I like a bit better.

I wish I had Venti and/or Mona. I just got Ningguang recently on a random wish, but haven't had time or resources to put into her. Is she able to insta-mine like Zhongli?

I really can't complain too much about my 5-stars though, since before the game chose to give me QiQi instead of Kazuha it had only given me Jeans for non-rate up 5-star pulls and I'm very happy with my C3 Jean. Of course I'm still lacking an S-tier main DPS (Rosaria and Jean are doing their best to fill that role at the moment). I'm really hoping that Yoimiya can fill that role when she's finally released.

We'll see what the final numbers are when they are released, but both Ayaka and Yoimiya should be pretty strong. Of the two, Ayaka is maybe looking slightly stronger all around -- maybe not Ganyu level, but maybe close -- while Yoimiya looks like she might be focused heavily on single target output where she should be quite strong, but lacking in the AOE output you'd want to see from a general purpose carry.

That said, we've definitely seen sizable shifts from beta to final before (notably, Ganyu got a big buff) so it's possible either or both could see adjustments that will change that picture.

Personally, I'm also holding out hope for Yoimiya to get adjustments that might justify me rolling her. Mechanically and nichewise (single target fire DPS) she's a bit too close to Hu Tao for her to be offering me something solid that my teams are missing, but I'd really like to have her anyway. Maybe just add a bit of AOE effect to her elemental skill buffed normal attacks (they are fireworks explosions after all!) or something.

Otherwise I suppose maybe I'm saving for Raiden.

zeroKFE wrote:

This. Now that I've got both Venti and Zhongli, I'm thinking I'll just become an Archon collector.

The Ayaka banner doesn't hold much for me. I've already got a strong Cryo carry in C1 Ganyu and Ning and Yanfei at C6. As for Chongyun, he's still Chongyun.

I'd like another clear carry for the other half of Abyss, but I'd rather not double down on Cryo or bow playstyle. I suppose if Sayu ends up strong and the rest of the 4*s are compelling, I might bite on Yoimiya. For now I'll make do with Ning/Diluc/Keqing situationally holding down the 2nd half.

Yeah, I'm not big on her aesthetics either. I would love a new skin for her. I have 3000 genesis crystals from my Welkin Moon purchases set aside for tempting skins.

No insta-mine like Zhongli. She's about the same speed as the claymore users, and a bit faster if you have her C1 to add AOE to her basic attacks. The small dip in mining speed is worth the sacrifice for the minimap markers, especially once you can start to memorize which markers are which kinds of ore so you can just home in on the crystal chunks.

She is also one of my most invested carries, so she does most of my damage when Venti isn't vacuuming the small fry.

On another note, exploring the Archipelago Islands and completing all the recent events has really helped to really bolstered my primogem reserves these last few weeks. I'm almost up to 2 full pities again

Pre-installation for the new update is now available.

In game event notice confirms the next banner will be Ayaka with Ningguang, Chongyun and Yanfei as the four-stars.

The Battle Pass should be renewing soon, so in addition to the usual "waiting until it restarts before you do the weekly bosses", everyone might also want to hold off on the weekly bounties and requests, as there should be a whole new area to build reputation in Inazuma. Not sure how far you'll need to explore and advance access it.

So, Amber mains felt threatened when a new female pyro archer was announced, Amber after all is generally considered the weakest character in game, but she has her niche as the only pyro archer.

We now know that Yoimiya will release on August 10th.

When is Amber's birthday? August 10th. The drama has been fun to watch.

An amber main is confusing, but not as confusing as someone who chooses the Diana Allers romance option.

Reminder that maintenance starts tomorrow, Tuesday, July 20th at 3PM PT and 6PM ET. So, uh, don't let your resin cap during the 5 hour downtime. Not that I might've done that for 1.6.

I woke up this morning to the Genshin community in a frenzy over an expected announcement:

Yeah, that's an unexpected twist on the expected free character.

Interesting to get another cryo bow user though, especially one who thematically will probably be designed to be a DPS unit. If so, I'm curious how they'll differentiate her from Ganyu.

Personally, I'm hoping she'll somehow end up being a strong off field DPS support -- or even better, some combo of that and a healer. Yes, I've got Diona, but I'm not crazy about her design and I'd love to replace her (especially with a 5 star that might outperform her), since she's kind of a critical piece of a few of my current teams (Eula and Ganyu/Mona).

I'm loving this. I realize I'm supposed to be upset about the PS users getting her 6 weeks earlier, but I'm not. If that's what it takes for us to get our first free 5* character, count me in. By then we'll know what she's best at and how to build her.

I loved HZD when it finally came to PC and Aloy was a big part of that. If she ends up being F2P Ganyu, I guess I'll just destroy both sides of the abyss with Cryo bow.

Actually, if you have a PS4 or PS5, you don't have to wait. I haven't tried it yet, but apparently with the 2.0 patch this week they added cross save, so use PC/mobile users can now load up our accounts on Playstation platforms.

So download the game, load it up once after 2.1, and bam, free Aloy on your account.

EDIT: Sounds like you can only play your existing PC account on Playstation if you've never played the game on Playstation yet. Otherwise, your PSN account will have already been linked to a platform specific Mihoyo account.

EDIT 2: Looks like we'll be getting her signature weapon free too:

What's not clear is whether that special effect will be locked to PSN forever, or only during 2.1.

Also announced today, 2.1 will have Raiden and Kokomi for 5 star banners, and Sara as a supporting 4 star on one of them (probably Kokomi, since they won't need anything extra to push the Raiden banner). Sounds like the beta might start tomorrow, so expect leaks about the new characters to roll in over the weekend!

I just hope they have redesigned Kokomi to use something, anything, other than a catalyst. She'll be the fifth hydro character in game, hopefully they give us some variety and not make 60% of them female hydro catalyst characters.

Edit: This does not make the decision on how to spend my primogems any easier. I'm currently 7 pulls towards hard pity, which leaves me stuck between being too far to pull for Ayaka (who'd a prefer over Yomiya), but too close to pull for Sayu without risking spending my pity on Yomiya. With both Kokomi and Raiden in the next patch, both of whom I'm interested it, it is very tempting to wait to grab both of them...

But I've been waiting for Sayu since I started playing in November, dang it!

I'm in a similar boat. I'm 40 pulls into hard pity and really want to get Ayaka but don't know if I'll get enough primos for another 35ish pulls before her banner goes away. I don't really want Yomiya but really want Sayu. I don't want my pity to be on that banner and waste it so hopefully will get Ayaka and then I can pull whatever is left to try for Sayu.

Wow, I definitely did not see that Aloy announcement coming. Free 5*! I wonder how her constellations will be handled.

Yeah, same. Freeze Ganyu and Melt Aloy incoming.

Mantid wrote:

I understand the temptation, but keep in mind that Sayu is not limited. Xinyan released back in December and has been on two or three other banners since then. Sayu will show up again, so I guess the only question is if you're willing to wait

I haven't had time to even make it to Inazuma yet this week. Hopefully tonight. How about everyone else?

One BIG change I have been enjoying is the indirect buff Mona received when Ayaka released. I showed off her speed in my last post, but her dash has always been very awkward to use in combat due to the large recovery time when landing. That recovery time has been massively reduced to line up with how Ayaka's dash performs. It feels much better to use in combat and everywhere else.
