Stop the steal!

Tides won! Blitz stole! Tune in to my guest appearance on HOAX News tonight at 9 when I explain everything.

Why are there a bunch of people outside my house trying to knock down my fence?

A quick heads up if you are looking to buy the game and/or the expansion pass. As a current low price, the base game and the pass are on sale on Green Man Gaming.

The base game is $16.79. The expansion pass is $16.63. This is quite a bit cheaper than the Steam sale price.

Note that they are selling both the Epic Games Store version and the Steam version. Be sure to get the version you want.

I really thought Tormentides had this, easily.

Something is off here! Maybe all our write-ins confused the voting machine.

You have my pitchfork. Or maybe trident is more appropriate here.

I thought so, too, honestly. Then as I started tallying it dawned on me that my brain was probably subconsciously combining Planescape: Torment and Torment: Tides of (random word). Together they had a lot of support, but taken individually it was closer than it appeared.

The Google sheet is up there if someone wants to have at it. I have a few checks along the way that I do to make sure I'm not screwing things up, but I'm human.

I knew running these votes with butterfly ballots would one day cause something like this.

Just to be clear though: I'm confident that I got the tallying correct and that the result is correct.

EDIT: Just to be triply sure, I checked things one more time, making sure I got the votes recorded correctly, and making sure I didn't miss any oddly named Torment: Tides vote. I feel confident things are accurate.

Outer Worlds is also on Microsoft Game Pass, if I recall right.

That is where I played it at least, and it would be really weird if they removed it after buying the devs.

Dear lord, looking at the google sheet I just realized I didnt even vote.

Sorry Tormented Tidesians, my fault.

Since when have facts mattered? I can dispute the vote with zero supporting evidence. There is precedent! Rabble rabble rabble!

Oh fine. I mean I bought Outer Worlds like one or two Steam sales ago in preparation for its inevitable selection. Now to decide if I will just stick to base game or if I want to add DLC during the sale.

Well, I won't be joining this one because I've already played Outer Worlds, but I'm genuinely happy that the rest of you will get to play it. It's a fun, solid game. Also, Parvati is one of the best companion NPCs of all time, IMHO.

Wow, what a wild vote result. It's a little disappointing that what seemed like an overwhelming torrent of pun-laden votes flooding in ended up being an ebb tide, but I'm game to revisit my aborted initial attempt at Outer Worlds all the same.

Trying to decide if my 2g gpu can handle this game

And off we go: The Outer Worlds! Have a grand adventure.

I too have already played this one (and kinda hated it, to be honest, Parvati aside) so it's another skip for me i'm afraid!

I'm actually kind of relieved it's this and not Tides. Much as I'd like to get to Tides, after Tyranny and Disco (both of which I loved), I was going to struggle to gear up for anything heavy. Even if it's a bit uneven, Outer Worlds is a style and substance shakeup I'm looking forward to, especially for gaming on my new ultrawide monitor.

As always, thanks for running the show, GB!

I'm going to pass as well - at least to start with. I replayed The Outer Worlds when the last DLC dropped, and with the pile and the summer sale I can't justify diving back in so soon.

Before Redherring's lead gets too big though, I'd like to point that both my Jade Empire and Divinity Original Sin 1 completions haven't been counted.

I haven't joined a run in many months due to either having played, not having the game or being stuck into some meaty titles (Persona 5, Control and Planet Zoo are eating up my gaming time). I'm interested in the discussion on this one because I too was pretty underwhelmed. It was like eating mashed potatoes for dinner. Totally doable, but not exactly exciting.

yeah that was my experience with it. On the surface it looks amazing and it promises a lot, but it's wafer thin once you get out of that first world.

Mostly my view too. Not horrible, but the gameplay/character building in particular disappointed me. Despite being a rabid Obsidian fanboy (as long as you go back to making PoE that is!)

Sure thing, ubrakto, I enjoy doing this.

Garg! Sorry about that. I've gone in an updated things now and fired our Completion Tracker Person! I've hired a new one and he's promised to do better.

So. KOTOR remake??

I’ve just seen that. Very interesting!

My apologies for disappearing there for a bit. I was pretty singularly focused on a few other life/gaming goals for the past couple of months, and life got fairly narrow.

In looking over things, it looks like things have been fairly quiet in August/September? How are people feeling about the club and a next game?

All good GB! I've been spreading myself a bit thin over a few different games and genres (RPG, 4X, strategy board games, building sims etc). I eventually caved and subscribed to game pass and that made things even worse

I did start playing The Outer Worlds eventually on game pass and I'm still chipping away at it, will likely take me another month to finish I expect. I'll put my nominations in for the next round when it comes up, hopefully, I'll find time for the next one.

Ready to rock here. I’ve caught up having got Disco Elysium in the bag, so ready for something new.

The pages for Disco Elysium and Outer Worlds could use an update to reflect completions... just sayin'.

Yes, for sure, thanks. I'll do that this weekend so that everything is up to date again.

Okay, I'll set up the vote to start collecting nominations tomorrow. That'll give us a bit of a late start, but only by a couple of days.

Put on your thinking caps!

Slight technical difficulties... coming soon!
