NBA 2020-21 Season Catch-All

I actually stayed up to watch that whole game, it was an awesome performance by the Jazz. But now I must work on 4 hours of sleep -.-

On a side note, why haven't we figured out that National Time in this country?

Central and Mountain time stop doing Daylight Savings Time right now.
Next time DST stops, East Coast falls back to match Central time, then stops.
Next time DST starts, West Coast Springs forward to match Mountain Time, then Stops.

Result: Everyone in the US is at most one hour off from each other (instead of three), and the scourge that is DST is killed.

Sorry, please resume topic.

You would think with all of his injuries that Embiid would have learned how to fall by now or stop putting himself in the position to take hard falls.

He plays so reckless for his size. It’s beyond frustrating. He needs to watch tape of Hakeem.

I think it’s been reported that he’s watched tons of Olajuwon footage. Seeing grace is one thing, being able to replicate it isn’t possible for everyone.

Hakeem was also quite a bit smaller. He was 6’10” even though listed at 7’, and 250. Joel has been measured at 7’ and listed weight is 280, I’d guess in reality closer to 290 or 300.

Also:

If only he had spent his youth playing soccer he could be more like Hakeem

That’d be something

Conley still out for game 3. Might be tougher on the road without him. Go Jazz

Oh my Giannis

They’re going to give “Suns in 4” guy the keys to the city, aren’t they?

Still not as bad as Philly fans amirite?

He's guilty of assault and battery. Philly fans are guilty of assault with batteries.

Embiid went 0-for-12 in the second half, accounting for the most attempts without a make in a playoff game in the past 25 years, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

None of those misses was bigger than the point-blank layup he couldn't connect on with 8.8 seconds left, sailing the right-handed attempt over the rim after catching a pick-and-roll feed from Tobias Harris with Philadelphia trailing 101-100.

But now we've got three series that are best of three.

Jazz need Mike Conley back.

For sure. I'd like to see Jazz / Suns. Not so much the Clippers.

I’m getting “2019 finals game 5 KD injury” vibes off this idea Harden will play game 5 in Nets/Bucks.

As I have learned more and more about hammy injuries, the more and more seriously I take them. I don't expect Harden to play, personally, or if he does, I doubt he'll be effective.

The more I look at Kevin Durant the more I see Chris Boucher. Am I wrong? They have similar builds. If Chris Boucher could develop into a KD that would be incredible.

Only you don’t develop into a KD. He’s a generational talent. I don’t think comparing a guy, who’s 28 years old and still figuring out his game, to a absolutely unique player works. If he can emulate some of Durant’s skill set that’d be fantastic, though.

This is bad karma.

Bucks in 7.

Holy Kevin Durant. 49 point triple double, played full 48 minutes.

And Bucks blew that one. Wow.

Nevermind. Nets in 6. That was a heroic performance.

Kevin Durant is terrifying.

the bucks really knew harden was playing on one leg and decided to do everything possible to not take advantage of it lol wtf

they said it was a must-win game so KD played all 48 minutes and put up a 49-17-10-3-2 stat line lol an absolute basketball colossus

I think Bud is really cementing his reputation as a regular season coach.

Sounds like Durant is on the fast track to get injured

I wouldn't say most of this is down to the insane, compressed schedule this year, but I think the wear and tear is a factor.

Kawhi Leonard will be the 8th different All Star to miss a playoff game this year — the most in a season in NBA History, per @EliasSports.

The others: A.D., James Harden, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid and Kyrie Irving. Chris Paul would be the 9th.

They could have done a 58-game, balanced schedule regular season like in soccer but the league & PA chased full TV dollars over health.

(Also: holy sh*t, what a game by Durant last night)

I'm not happy Kawhi is hurt. I'd rather Conley have got healthy. But either way this puts the Jazz back in the driver's seat. Probably would have been a 4-1 series with everyone healthy.

Did something else happen?
