[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

I would love to see the rogue like nature of the world apply to more things.
For billionaires it would be: Okay you won life, congratulations. Now start over!
Or perhaps something akin to Logan's Run but with mandatory Sanctuary for those with over 500 million rather than reaching the age of 30.

I was watching Julian Feeld on twitch cover this weekend’s big Qanon rally and after his stream ended I stumbled upon possibly the most internet thing I’ve seen in months, a catgirl vtuber doing a leftist political research stream:

I only caught like ten minutes before their stream ended as well so I can’t vouch for the quality of their content, but the streamer is NekoSuris if anyone is interested.

So lived at home and had her parents buy the house and that is considered an accomplishment?
I though it was only people in the SF Bay Area that can't afford housing ;P

From the "Duh Files"
*but it was never true. From the first foundings of human society I would bet. Hard work is great and all but it has never trumped connections, good looks, money, etc.

If I were a billionaire, I would totally pay for billboards near every Confederate monument site with this message.

I'd quietly buy up the property the monuments were on and then destroy them.

I might have to also buy a couple state legislatures that made that illegal, but how much could that cost? Ten dollars?

It's almost as if corporations are entirely amoral!

IMAGE(https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/facebook/000/023/180/notsurprisedkirk.jpg)

Corporations are not people. A rainbow corporate logo is not a message of solidarity; it's a scoreboard. It means these amoral corporations believe that enough people support LGBTQ+ folks to make it worth their while to make these kinds of marketing noises. And that critical mass of support? That I feel pretty good about.

Not to say we shouldn't call out the corps on the hypocrisy of their messages, but it's still genuinely good news.

I'm pretty sure they gave at least as much money to pro-gay politicians too. That's how the game is played.

Spoiler:

i.e. amorally

So they changed the article headline after, I assume, the negative feedback. They did not bother to acknowledge the change via an editor's note. Some quotes:

Age when first property purchased: 26
Property location: Box Hill South, Victoria
Occupation and annual salary: Exercise physiologist, $50,715 base salary + commission
Property price: $650,000 in 2020

"“I was lucky with mum and dad. My older brother stayed home for a while, so they were completely open to me staying at home for as long as I liked.”

"After some negotiating, Nicole’s parents made a successful offer of $650,000. Nicole had $67,000 saved – just enough to cover the 10 per cent deposit going directly to her parents."

I'm not an expert in Australian real estate, but to be clear, a medical doctor had to live with her parents for a half a decade to save a 10% down payment and her parents still bought her the townhouse.

So the moral of this story is "the only way you can own a home in Australia is if you're a medical doctor AND your parents are rich."

I'm not Australian, but is exercise physiologist an MD? Looks like maybe an accredited org. Probably not the income bracket you're getting at, but your point is still valid.

https://www.essa.org.au/Public/Consu...

An exercise physiologist is definitely not an MD. An MD would earn, on average, more than double what the person in the article claims to earn (which in itself is low for an exercise physiologist). While the article is sh*t, intentionally misrepresenting it makes you look just as bad.

It's probably also worth pointing out that metropolitan Melbourne isn't the whole of Australia.

Thanks folks. That also sort of explains the low-for-an-American-doctor annual salary of ~$38k in American dollars.

Still not sure how commissions work in the world of sports physiology.

I just assumed that sports physiology was a type of physical therapist which is a doctor (but not an MD? especially since it is a 3 year degree and MD is much longer?)
I think you get 6 of one, half dozen of the other because while you may not make MD money, you also don't have MD school debt to pay off.

To further the above, and video-gamify it:

Do I need to say it?
