Good news is that Far Cry 6 is just around the corner ;P

Giancarlo Esposito is in everything now and I love it.

I bought FC5 for a dollar and change on Stadia. I played through the intro cinematic, played a few minutes once you get full control and refunded my dollar.

The intro has a background scene where a large dog kills a smaller dog... Coupled with what the humanity around you in that camp were doing and saying I decided I didn't want to spend my time there.

Hired Gun:
-It has the raunch of Borderlands (with the grim dark cranked to 11 since it is Warhammer). But it doesn't have the character classes or zillions of gun and equipment mods. (it is your typical +1, +2, etc.)
-Leveling up character skills is like Mass Effect but pared way down in number.
-Its healing mechanic is like Krieg's, when you get hit, any damage you do heals you a bit for about 4 seconds. (this can be extended with a character skill) You also get a shield that recharges with pickups.
-Guns are branched into pistol, basic, special, heavy, and maybe one more. There appear to be 3-5 types of each. I have found a revolver, 2 shot sawed off shotgun, autopistol and bolter so far in the pistol category.
-There are Doom 2016 style executions with no prerequisites. For most enemies, if you are in melee range, hit E to do a takedown. Ogrim and mechs are immune and shielded enemies have to have their shield down I believe to take the down. There are a handful of take down animations. All are brutal if perhaps a notch more brutal since you are murdering dogs, and females (a lot of females as there are a lot of female only gangs in Necromunda) instead of demons and zombies.
-The level design reminds me of some of the best bits of Titanfall 2 except you have grappling in addition to wall running. It also reminds me of Division with all of its slightly off the path secret stashes and multiple ways to navigate the levels.
-Maybe there is another "base" with a "barber" but I thought there was footage of changing the cosmetics of your character. You can select from presets but not customize them at the start of the campaign.

Also, in video game deal news, GMG is having a 20% off sale. The verbiage is every PC game is 20% off (at least since there are quite a few examples of much more than 20% off)

New batch of Prime Game Goodies are up.

Battlefield 4
Batman the Telltale series
BFF or Die
Lost in Harmony
Spitkiss
Newfound Courage

Note that Battlefield 4 is actually an Origin key

I was close to buying that when it first came out, and decided to wait for a better price. Seems the wait is over.

Slipways has just been released. You can get it on Steam, GOG, itch.io and Epic Store by paying the full price OR...

If you pick it up on the Epic Store and use your £10/$10 voucher you can get it for £3.99/$4.99! If you don't have a voucher yet, just claim this week's free game (Frostpunk) and you will receive one.

I played the demo on steam a few weeks back and it's a good, fun, chill, compact, grand strategy space game

Slipways on EGS: https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-U...

Lots of GW games on sale on Steam, including Warhammer Underworlds Online for FREE.

Well dang, that went from never hearing about it to sounding pretty good for $7.50 (I just checked the price). I might be sold.

The GW games are deeper discounted on Greenman Gaming FYI.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is 50% off on Epic plus the $10 coupon makes it $19.99

I'm interested. Is it worth $20?

If you enjoy open world games then def yes.

Yes it was quite fun.

It was definitely worth the $30 I got it for back in Dec

Yep, it was worth it to me at full price around christmas time in a new xbox Series "S", at $20usd if you like this kind of world and game, you are up for a spin.

Peeps were comparing IFR favorably to Breath of the Wild no?

How does it compare to the standard Ubisoft game? I’m currently really enjoying AC: O as a baseline.

It's way more ridiculous and faster paced action.
A lot of fun over the "seriousness" of AC or Far Cry open world.

Fenyx Rising also has a lot of fun puzzles littered throughout the world and in vaults.

I pretty much fell in love with the game, the character I created, and particularly the photo mode.

There is a demo you can try out too that will give you a good idea of the gameplay. The demo content is separate from the main game and gives you a taste of some of the mechanics.

Nice, thank you!

This is interesting.

If you picked up Indie bundle for Palestinian Aid and Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality (this time last year) you now have 2525 new itch.io games to pick from.

The link above has some handy-dandy filters to help you drill down titles & genres of interest if you're feeling overwhelmed.

Surprising diversity of content filters on offer.

Spooky Jump Scare Mansion is free on steam and the HD remaster is $10. Game works in VR but only with a controller. It looks stupid but is actually kind of cool. You go through 1000 rooms filled with monsters, nothing, arcades, bed rooms, prisons, cardboard cutouts, and other random things. Multiple endings, cute design and scary at times.

Greenman Gaming is having a weekend sale on top of their sale. Hired Gun is $28 and change!
