DC Catch-All [Spoiler Zone]

MoS could be fixed relatively easily. The others not as easily.
DCEU has a ton of potential but keeps making dumb decisions.

Again the TV shows are pretty great. F the movies.

In general yes, although the quality has dipped significantly on several. Earlier this week I just watched what had to be one of the worst episodes of any of the DC shows ever. It was this weeks DC Legends of Tomorrow. It was god awful and has me worried about the rest of this season.

I hit that point midway through season 2

Finally watched WW84 today. At hotel on vacation and it was on HBO so halfway in the background. All the complaints were valid. And some really sketchy logic with the whole premise.

Heck when "Steve" grabbed Max during the extended fight there, he could have just wish undid everything. A bunch of other eye roll moments. And Dr what's her name already used a wish so how did she get another?

Again I have 2 kids running around so maybe I missed some stuff. But I've read enough here to know the gist, and I was still disappointed. A shame the one bright spot in the last decade of DC movies got such a crap sequel.

This feels relevant:

Superman & Lois

Fakeout alert!

Spoiler:

Turns out "Captain Luthor" isn't in any way, shape, or form at all. He's John Henry Irons, aka Steel.
Still says his armor looks like the Doomguy armor from the recent reboot. Also, credit this series for delving into how agonizing it must be to have super hearing.

I've been watching a lot of the DCAU films based off of The New 52 on HBO Max and I'm finding them to be very well done, including the recent-ish adaptation of the original Hush arc.

I'm increasingly delighted by Superman & Lois introducing named characters, and then pretty much saying "Psyche!"

I liked the animated Hush up until the ending. I thought it was a cop out. But the rest was really good.

Yeah, I get that and I suspect it's from the same line of thinking of the Gotham by Gaslight adaptation in that a.) people who read the comics already think they know how it's going to go and thus give them a surprise and b.) the identities of the new bads in those comics happened to be newly introduced characters, which is also predictable. It's like Star Trek VI where almost all the conspirators in the movie happened to be almost all the characters exclusive to that movie.

Valeris was originally intended to be Saavik, but Roddenberry nixed that idea.

Oh that's interesting. Her character suddenly makes a lot more sense with that information.

Also Kim Cattrall didn't want to be the third actress to play Saavik (who had switched actresses for Search For Spock).

Not the point of the article, but I could see Bats being a selfish lover especially the HQ version. So it might be in character.

From the piece:

Either way, the race is now on for some comic book company to get out there and explicitly confirm in a movie or TV show that one of its heroes does like to perform oral sex.

Deadpool already won that race. Happy Halloween.

Not only that but so much more. SO... MUCH... MORE! LOL

Perfect blend of the Anakin Padme meme and DC.

Amazing.
Also, we've somehow infected the Coronavirus Tales thread.

I just watched this one, and found it entertaining enough, but what the hell sort of backwards-ass continuity is this where Riddler is C-list?

Same continuity where they jump from Dick to Damian as Robin with no Jason, Tim, or Stephanie in between.

Except when they do throw in Jason or Tim sometimes. I like the DC animated stuff but if such a mess of sometimes connected with minimal direction.

The Hush adaptation is part of the New 52 continuity of movies and not a standalone like Under the Red Hood.

Well, admittedly, Damien telling Bruce to wrap it was a solid laugh.

There's little more I hate with as much vehemence as tedious continuity quibbling, but Riddler as C-list is over the line. He's not S-Tier, but he is staunchly A.

I honestly didn't realise the animated movies had a continuity. I've just watched them piecemeal. Always liked them, but never felt the need to pick away too closely. I mostly like the ones with Constantine.

Loved this particular scene in Justice League Dark: Apokolips War

It always feels like no more than 2, maybe 3 are connected before they reset again.
