Star Wars Misc. Catch-All

Finally, Sexy Teen Grogu.

Rumors last year were also that Pedro Pascal was kicked off the show so rumors can go stuff it.

Yeah, the Disney/Star Wars rumor mill is absurd.

Rumor is that there will be a leap in time for the next season of The Mandalorian. Does that mean that we could see the continued adventures of Mando and a young adult Grogu?

Well it would have to be a pretty major time leap considering it took Grogu 50 years to get to baby stage.

Bad Batch gave me what I wanted in the first episode. Started where I thought, had a few crossovers, and had some nice character building.

I'd watched the four Bad Batch episodes in the last Clone Wars season a week ago to bring me back to this stuff.

Are all of these going to be an hour? I was expecting a shorter episode closer to 30 minutes based on the Clone Wars.

Spoiler:

Omega's totally the Ashoka of the early Clone Wars. The precocious kid that kids can identify with.

It makes sense. They're clearly not going to write Grogu out of the show and I don't see what else they can do with Baby Yoda, so a time skip totally makes sense.

So the first episode of The Bad Batch was GREAT. Can't wait for more.

The Maggie Simpson cartoon was cute, too.

I had only watched the "good" episodes of Clone Wars Season 1 and was not really into it. But I finished watching the Genndy series yesterday and the first episode of Bad Batch today and really liked both. The only knock against the 2d series for me was almost too many extended d
fight scenes. It's more noticeable when you watch all of them together, but it's mostly just one long Jedi fight after another. Which is fine, but a little dull after a while. Anakin's voice really bugged me, but that's just me.

Bad Batch is great! There is a lot going on, and it feels more like Rogue One than Episode 1.

Btw, if I thought the movie and first season of clone wars were pretty blah, should I try the others?

I am just rewatching the Clone award series now and I think there is a definite pick up in the second season. Depends a bit on what you like and don’t like though. The battle tactics still make no sense.

One thing that has really helped my enjoyment in the rewatch is listening to the A More Civilised Age podcast with GWJ’s own Rob Zacny. Definitely recommend it to a bit of intellectual depth to your thoughts about the Clone Wars.

Yes, Clone Wars may start slow and there are some eps here and there that are purely kids ep but it is legit some of the best Star Wars content available IMO.

Start season 2 at The Landing at Point Rain, thats where it really takes off.

Agreeing to this. If you look around the web, that's the consensus. Takes awhile to really get going. But once it does, it's probably some of the BEST Star Wars there is. Some of the best moments you'll find, although just due to the sheer amount of it there are some things you'll cross you might not enjoy.

Heard on a podcast something the other day that Feloni has been responsible for a significant majority of Star Wars video made if you consider Clone Wars, Rebels, etc, etc.

Yeah the movie and first season are the weakest parts of the show, but it gets infinitely better as it goes. Watching it this way will likely help.

I had no idea there was a better order to watch in. I've seen, oh, five episodes of the first season and never manage to get any farther because it's all just pew pew and little else.

Oh you guys it gets amazing. Seriously. Amazing. It's some of the best Star Wars that ever Star Warsed. The finale might be my favorite bit of any Star Wars ever.

We should sticky that Clone Wars gets much better as it goes on and actually has probably the best character development in all of Star Wars video.

Not saying it's for everybody, but unfortunately it has a large hump to get over to get to the really good stuff. So if you're kind of interesting, just try to make it a bit farther

Generally I am sticking to this poster for the good ones to watch. Using this and the chronology timeline together is a bit finicky for me, but I will use it for reference if I get confused.

Five episodes? You spent too long in season 1. Skip ahead to the good stuff.

Watching Episode 2 of the Bad Batch with my two girls gave me the feels, y'all.

So. Many. Feels.

I'm enjoying it.

I guess star wars needs a young kid in every cartoon. I don't mind the character. I have to look up her voice actress she sounds like Bobby from The Expanse. Nope not her.

Both from New Zealand though, I believe.

This doesn't cover all of it though, like the article I linked does.

So I didn't think I was interested in The Bad Batch, but last night I did an extended stint as an infant's mattress and queued up the first episode. Man, that was a strong opening.

Watch the 2nd ep with your infant, too. Also, congrats! Mine is 5 weeks old.

I'm watching along with A More Civilized Age myself and I'm quite liking it. Even the weaker episodes have something fun to poke at.

Episode 3 had fewer feels, but it saved them all up for the last few minutes for dramatic effect.

Finished up the good episodes from Season 5 of Clone Wars (Onderon, Saw and Steela, Maul, DeathWatch, Bo-Katan, Ahsoka frame job). Really good stuff. All the Maul and Deathwatch stuff was really fun, and I loved Satine and Obi-Wan together. The political themes about the Jedi Order warmongering and neutral systems was pretty interesting stuff.

One fun thing I noticed. The "scary" music they used in a lot of dark moody scenes in Season 2 with the screeching string instruments sounds almost exactly like the music from the Stargate movie.
