Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order - Catch All

IIRC the real obnoxious part was re-loading you before you entered the last room so you had to go through a second load then dialogue choices before the fight actually started. And that wasn't the only boss fight that did that. Don't know why that is still a thing these days.

Dunno if this has been patched since you played it, or if I just haven't gotten to those specific boss fights yet, but I usually die on first encounter with a boss (cos Jedi Master), and when getting back to them, any cutscene or dialog is skipped and it's straight back to sabericuffs.

This. 2nd time I fought the security droid last night, he was just waiting there in the room like any good soul-like boss would. Then I beat him on the 2nd try with hardly any issue

It wasn't every boss but there were a few of them. I just looked it up and final boss also has a cutscene mid fight that you have to dialogue through every time.

Overall I enjoyed the game, it's just that part that stuck with me because the boss was hard and it probably took me 25 or so tries. One thing I would like in a sequel is having the force abilities from the get go as that made the combat much more enjoyable for me.

Near to finishing off Dathomir and I'm still enjoying the combat, except when I get mobbed by a whole slew of enemies from all sides. I need to remember my AOE force push, I guess. I don't think I've ever used it. I got the climbing claws last night. So far, no boss frustration, and most have taken 3 or less attempts. Lately 1 or 2.

My biggest frustration is getting from one end of the map to the other takes too long when there's nothing really to do along the way, and the shortcuts don't help all that much.

So I finished the game last night. Died many times on the final boss, and even at the final blow, but thankfully the exploding summoned droid finished the deal for me, so I got a gold colored boss character in the cutscene.

Got my xp and such back for that final stretch once the character was struck down.

Really had fun with the game, never adjusted difficulty, and only felt challenge spikes with the two last bosses and a couple mass encounters towards the end.

Good news for early players who would otherwise like to replay, it appears the cutscenes replaying every time you respawn was removed. I only saw the mid-battle cutscenes once for both of the final 2 boss battles.

note, I just pulled this out of my edit because I noticed it kept the thread buried and figured someone might get a chuckle out of my cutscene shot.

That's good news about the cut scenes. They didn't make you go through dialogue choices, repeatedly, mid battle either?

What dialog choices? Evidently not as I don't even recall choosing any dialog options during a fight.

About how long did it take you to play through?

EA Desktop told me 23hrs and 22 mins. I know I stopped to watch something on my 2nd screen a few times, so I would assume it was more like 21. Played entirely one difficulty below highest. I also didn't listen to everyone and went hunting for collectibles, mostly because the stim canisters were out there, but only ended up with "07" in the hud, assuming that means there were at least 10.

quote is not edit...

I think it was closer to 12 hours for me. I did not do a lot of replaying nor collectible hunting. Kind of pushed right through. Definitely worth it to play through to the end.

There's a PS5/SeriesX version coming in June and I will likely replay then.

Woo! My procrastination has paid off!

I would replay it if I have a new console at that point.

*deeply pained sigh* I have basically given up any hope of getting a PS5. it's SEVEN MONTHS after the release date and even as of yesterday no one can keep it in stock for more than 5 minutes... except for the thousands of consoles for sale on ebay for $1500.

And no one seems to care because the big corps got their money.

I'm looking forward to all the gaming history articles about how the PS5 started out with record sales before low software sales tanked developers because the consoles sat in scalper garages, unplayed and listed on eBay.

Something like that. Lol

Ok, I just watched it again. They weren't choices but I had to click through / watch the dialog at the 7 minute mark every single time.

I think they care very much, they're just not communicating it to the general public.

As for hardware, supply has not been able to keep up with the extremely strong demand for PS5... constraints on the supply of components, especially semiconductors, are expected to continue this fiscal year [2021]... In order to meet the strong demand from our customers, we will continue to work to secure components and strive to do our utmost to produce and sell more units.

This doesn't seem like intentional scarcity. I don't think Sony wants to leave money on the table. It sucks for us as well as them, but you can't make something you don't have the parts for. It's not just Sony and Playstation 5s; PC makers can't make them fast enough, smartphone makers are skipping iterations, automakers are temporarily ceasing production, and more.

Yeah, I don't think Sony is looking at this situation feeling like they got their money. They're seeing all these over-MSRP sales on eBay and thinking of all the units they would sell if they could actually get them to the market. Sony's not sad about it because they care for the poor little guy who can't buy a console, but they're not happy the poor little guy's money isn't going into Sony's pocket.

I'd love to know what strings Nintendo pulled to secure enough silicon for 30 mil units this year. That's the real war behind the scenes, I'm sure.

Agreed. I'm not saying "oh no Sony is a great champion for their consumers" or anything, just that their interests (producing more consoles to sell) do align with ours, and they are trying.

No doubt. I'm bet there's a lot of wheeling and dealing that will never come to light.

Additionally, all those scalped systems are not necessarily converting to sales of PS+ accounts or software and peripheral sales. It stands to reason that they'd rather actual players own those systems so that all the other Sony related products could be sold and net them some cash.

Can someone tell me in a spoiler-free fashion how close to the end I am? I'm a little ways into the

Spoiler:

planet where the Nightsisters are

I'm assuming I'm fairly close as I've filled out most of the skill tree. I left the game running overnight by accident a couple times, so I can't compare my logged playtime with howlongtobeat.com

Pretty close. Keep going.

Do you think you've completed all the other planets, and have you had to leave that planet yet? IIRC, you can get to that planet before you have to go there, and I think you have to leave at least once, go elsewhere, and come back.

But assuming you've saved this one for last: yeah, pretty close.

No, the story led me there. It certainly feels like I'm heading into the final act.

Thanks folks.

If you’re where I think you are, I’d say you’ve got a couple chapters left. There’s at least one more chilly planet you’ll visit before the final push.

I had a good time with it and beat it last weekend. I will say that the 2nd Sister fight wasn't as difficult as the 9th Sister fight, for me.
