Nice

... glad I didn't try loading this page on my phone.

Congratulations, and dammit, that makes the draft SO much less entertaining than I hoped it would be.

And now how far does Mac Jones drop? I'm guessing a fair way.

I lost 6% battery scrolling down and loading gifs

With the third overall pick, the Niners show once again how important the fullback is on their team.

Patriots

Guys, don't criticize him right now, he's have the best night of his life.

Grats, Legion.

I gotta assume you had another post ready to go with a bunch of #fail GIFs in case the Niners brainfarted and took Mac Jones.

Feel free to break out those GIFs at No. 8!

I had a post ready for the alternative outcome too:

OH NO
NOT AGAIN

The nightmare was a premonition!

Still better than Man Jones.

Kyle Pitts is on the all-suit team, regardless of his talent.

In case anyone's wondering why CAR might take a DB at No 8, it's because they have to face a terrifying ATL offense twice a season.

Honestly surprised Atlanta didn't take Fields or trade out of the spot for someone else to.

We've heard rumbles that Fields could drop.

Yeah, what's up with the Fields drop? Is it his processing?

3.2 second time to throw against pressure is just too slow for the NFL. I believe he can speed it up, but that'd be the thing scaring people away, IMO.

That and/or the epilepsy.

Hi sorry is this where I come for the cheerleader pics?

Chase to Cincy. Philly was right in thinking Chase wouldn't make it past them.

So I wanted to watch this on the big TV and with limited devices I'm willing to run . . . potentially less than savory sites on, I'm sticking with the ABC feed on ESPN, and these guys aren't bad. Todd McShay is much easier to handle when he's not having to try to out-talk Mel Kiper, and I think this is better than the standard ESPN feed.

They took Chase; I would have gone for keeping Burrow alive, but, well, it's the Bengals.

The analysis of Jamaar Chase versus Sewell just shows how arcane and backwards NFL coverage is. A star WR is worth SO MUCH MORE than a stud LT. Green Bay is the perfect example. Bakhtiari gets hurt, they’re fine and replace him with an average tackle. Adams gets hurt and they go in the tank.

I think Cincy is fine at LT with Jonah Williams. I liked him two years ago. He lost his rookie year to injury so he's a little behind but I think he can be good.

Counterpoint: Kansas City in the Super Bowl.

Really though, the thing is that good tackles are much rarer. Good WRs are plentiful, especially lately in the draft. The problem in GB is them just not bothering to draft any.

Kansas City had an average-above average OL. They just got injured or opted out. So does locking in $30M-$40M the left side of your OL prevent injuries? No? Spread that money out and get 4 average OL, that protects against injuries.

Other than the stress and then elation of #3 , the draft has been pretty boring so far. No trades, mostly expected picks. I guess only #4 not being used by someone on Fields is the surprise.

Also, shout out to Daniel Jeremiah for referencing Steve McNair when talking about Lance's running. I made that comparison and I have not heard anyone else make the same connection until DJ just now.

Yeah, how do you argue that OL isn't important? It's super important.

RB, sure, you can get guys late, but Rodgers without Adams is an issue because their WR depth chart is awful more than anything.

BORING!

It's the draft we deserve after surviving 2020. Boring is the new black.

Good LTs are unicorns. They're probably the rarest species of NFL player behind good QB and pass-catching TE. That's why teams pay through the nose for them. Or you try to be cheap at that position and be content with winning 5-6 games.

Hooray for Penis Swel . . . wait, am I spelling that wrong?
