Post a picture, entertain me!

Floppy disks? FLOPPY DISKS?! My lad, we certainly weren't in that financial class! I DREAMT of floppy disks (and one of those modems you could put your phone into)! My friend had a Commodore 64 with a floppy drive and I was incredibly jealous. I loaded Bionic Commando off of a cassette and liked it! My best friend had a Spectrum and used HIS cassette drive to show me a little game called Civilisation.

Ah, those were the days. Painting proper pewter miniatures with paint stuffed with lead. Filling the coal scuttle so I could light the fire in the morning. Dad and my uncle coming home with stolen food they had been paid to guard. Good times.

I am Atari 2600 and Atari 800 years old. We also had a 3-game pong thing called a Heath kit.

Atari 2600 for me as well. I currently have a Atari 2600 Jr in a shadowbox. Was thinking about trying to get it working, but without something like an Open Source Scan Converter a modern TV can't even understand the signal from one of them. My family didn't have a computer until I was in my late teens.

We had Pong.

My first console was an Odyssey 300, which played 3 kinds of Pong- tennis, squash, and hockey. My first "computer" was this beast:

which connected to a HP 3000 mainframe at my dad's college. I played Star Trek and other BASIC games, and had to ration my output because it was on thermal paper.

ETA: I can still hear the sound of loading programs off tape on an Atari 410 tape "drive". ehhhht...ehhhht...ehhhht... for fifteen minutes, just to play some Telengard.

Yeah, I started on tapes too, on the TI. God, those were horrible. Fortunately, we were better off than it sounds like you were, so we expanded the hell out of the machine (adding the expansion box, RAM, and a floppy), and then eventually moved up to an Amiga 1000, leaving the 8-bit era behind.

With floppies, I think the CPC would have been an entirely acceptable 8-bit machine. With just tapes.... ouch.

Ok, this wins old-school coolness points so far. Having your first computer be a terminal printing on paper is pretty close to an S100 machine with toggle switches.

TASER Simulator 1995?

My cousins had an Atari 2600. We had this:

so when a new Atari came out, were people blown away by each generations new graphics? They all kinda look the same to me now a days.

It was an atrocious computer. I could wax on for a couple paragraphs about how bad it was.

Oh wow, the 4. We had the 4A. At least it ran Parsec. That's all I remember using it for.

It's Decent

Ha! I get it.

That joke stinks. It needs de-scenting.

Is that a real-life Arcadia Bay?

Isn't it missing borders like Spain/UK, Spain/Morocco?

The original post on Reddit didn't list the location. Sorry.

There's no LAND border between Spain and the UK.

There is Gibraltar, though

And/or: There might be if the Tories keep in charge

I wonder to what extent that was inspired by medieval maps like this one:

TIL Gibraltar isn't an island! Like that was specifically the thing I was thinking about.

My bad.

Hard to keep these things... straight.

I'm not a topologist, but I do find this incredibly satisfying to look at.

Edit: Sh*t, I might be a topologist.

It does say that it excludes exclaves. Gibraltar is an exclave.
