Outriders - Catch All

Just learned you can hold down on a d-pad to collect all loot in an area.

Its set to the H key on PC. Sadly it doesn't pick up ammo drops.

It does help immensely though!

Picking up ammo drops would be crazy considering there's a tier 2 mod that heals on ammo pick up

Epic = purple = tier 1 + tier 2 mods only.
Legendary = gold = tier 2 +tier 3 mods only.

You can totally break down everything (except for the stupid gifted items that have a lock icon on their picture).

Hmmm. Is it story gated? I can't break them down now but I haven't finished the main campaign. There isn't a quick select option for Legendaries on the inventory screen either.

No, I don't think it's story gated. There is no quick select button for all legendaries but you can right click them one by one and dismantle.

Just logged in real quick to test and this 100% worked. Thanks!

On trickster play; i main it and i did have issues with surviving at times. For me the answer was a hit and run playstyle, i buff up the two moment abilities with interrupts and attack/defense buffs. Then i place my recall in a safe place, warp to an enemy, kill it and put some damage into as many as i can before my health starts to go down, then i recall and recharge. Killing fodder enemies en masse can makenyou stupid durable for the time you need to kill a captain. Also, auto shotguns (narrow type) are your friend for this, they put out rediculous damage, a good one can take out a captain in 1 clip on world tier 9 or 10 for me. The Bone shrapnel mod is your friend here, it can often turn killing a captain quickly into a local mass kill.
I'd say the biggest weakness of the trickster is that when you are playing multiplayer, they might not have the damage to remain alive.
Edit: forgot there is a mod for the recall that doubles your armor for 10 seconds after use. I do not use this anymore, but for awhile until i started to up my survivability through other means it was extremely useful.

Claymore is a great mod for elites and bosses. It must have some serious armor penetration associated with it. (or it bypasses armor)

Drop pods are hard!

My understanding is that all direct damage from mods is anomaly and thus ignores armor, hitting resistance instead.

Not sure, but I find Claymore underwhelming compared to other direct damage mods.

What do the drop percentages on the Expedition Loot actually mean? Because I can't figure out the math.

Here's an example of what I see loading in to Frontline:
IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/bLXZYc0.png)

Yet when I come out to the drop pod I'll inevitably get 4-6 purples, 7-12 blues, and no legendaries (which okay, cool I get it's a 7.5% chance but that still means if I do the activity 3 times and get 15 pieces of loot each time I should get 1 or 2 legendaries, right? So far the only legendaries I've got were from a few days ago running T9 with Ranalin.

It might be a modifier on the underlying percentages (maybe based on WT). So if you have a 0.5% chances to get a legendary normally, and your WT increases that by 500%, and 7.5% on top of that brings you to 2.68% chance to get a legendary. And I am guessing that original number. And I don't know if the percentages compound or not.

Anyone playing on ps5? How is it? I am always competing with my son for PC time so I'd like to get it on ps5.

Is it cross play?

It is, but I don't think they fixed it yet. Hopefully soon.

Just saw it on sale at GMG, so PC it is.

Crossplay is up and running now, but the gear loss bug is growing rampant.

I lost all my gear and ability to play my Trickster this morning. The recommended way to avoid this didn't work for me. Supposedly if you jump into a game and notice that your gear is gone you can kill your game (alt-f4 on pc) and it will prevent the autosave from writing over your stuff with nothing.

I did that. Wasn't even fully displayed yet when I noticed because it does that reverse fade to black, but apparently that didn't matter.

I was primarily upset because i lost my Deathshield legendary. I thought, well i'll just grind out some more gear real quick, but it disconnects to server after about 15 secs after joining the lobby.

So whenever they release the new patch to fix it i can't progress my trickster If i only had that single character i'd be furious.

Well working my way through all of the bounties, hunts and side quests that I didn’t do during my play through then off to try expeditions.

Are people grouping up for this or playing solo/PUGS?

Apparently this is to help when the do the inventory reload. I'm guessing it's easier to capture the "moment in time" when you lost your gear and bring it back than have to sift through older files/they might not even keep detailed logs to go back, 1-2-3 hours of autosaves.

I’m glad I never ever play games with other people.

I've been sitting here waiting to see how things pan out with this. I'm very much a solo player in virtually everything, so I was curious to see whether it was better to get in now to enjoy the community activity, or wait until it gets polished up more and potentially gets a bit of a price-drop. Sounds like waiting a bit more is in order.

To be fair I have over 100 hours and around half of that has been multiplayer. Odds were not in my favor. Luckily it wasn't my max character, but i have only been playing that solo or with other goodjers.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. Hopefully it’s resolved soon. I’m sticking to soloing until they fix this horrible bug.

I'd pull trigger now, especially if you just play solo. Multiplayer hasn't even worked for me yet, not able to successfully join a game even with a code. Don't think it has to do with having bought on epic store, think it's just that it's not working for some reason.

I've been enjoying solo though and still playing and slowly working my way up in expeditions and now i've gone back and am replaying all the hunts, contract kills and history quests by restarting those lines (you get a free legendary for completing the whole line of them each time apparently) and that's helping me farm up to T15 world tier too while i'm at it for fun).

I have beat a CT 10 expedition as my highest so far never having touched multiplayer. I've only run like 25 expeditions i think? But the difficulty curse gets real REAL at CT9/10/11

I recommend playing through the campaign slow with all side quests and let yer world tier go up when you can handle it but don't be afraid to back it down if you hit something outsized in difficulty for your build, temporarily. I played that way and i'm glad i did, took like 30 hours to complete campaign that way and don't regret it. Good story/cutscenes and quests.

Doing the hunts and stuff on appropriate difficulty as you go is INTENSE!

PC Patch is released on Steam:

PCF wrote:

Hello Everyone,

We have just released a new patch that addresses the bug that has, since the previous update, been causing the inventories of certain players to be wiped.

If your inventory has been impacted, please note that our efforts to restore your items are a separate process from today’s released patch. Restoring the inventory of affected players is still our highest priority, while today’s patch is intended to prevent the issue from continuing to occur. The restoration process is run via our server database and does not require a patch to be implemented. We will have news of this very soon.

IMPORTANT:
With this new patch, some players may occasionally encounter multiplayer connectivity issues followed by inventory items being momentarily invisible. This is a known and only temporary behaviour that is part of our three-step inventory safeguarding measures.
Restarting your game or waiting a few minutes and then restarting your game should make your items appear again.
We aim to address the occurrence of these edge cases in a future patch.
If you do encounter a wipe that occurs after installing the patch and is not resolved following a game restart, please immediately report this in this Edge Case reporting-thread.

While we are confident that the patch will prevent inventory wipes in future, we do want to use the weekend to continue monitoring the situation and ensure that no more players are encountering any related issues before we move onto the restoration process.

As soon as we are satisfied by the patch’s effectiveness, we will share extra details including timelines of our upcoming Inventory Restoration process.

While our teams have mainly focused on preventing any further inventory wipes, we have also continued to look at ways of improving our restoration process. We will update you with these final details as soon as we have tested it and confirmed what is possible.

For any affected characters currently encountering a “Couldn’t Connect to Server”: these characters will have their inventories returned and they will become fully playable again as soon as our restoration process has completed.

Please keep an eye out for our upcoming announcements regarding restoration and other Outriders related news updates.

Crossplay just recently has started working. Also NAT settings also seems to cause folks problems as well.

It's simpler than that. There are rewards for finishing the Expedition listed on the page before you start. You'll notice that it says something like "4x Legendary 20% Epic 80%" under Gold (I'm looking at CT14 right now). That means for the 4 items you get for completing the Expedition, those are the drop percentages.

However, mobs in Expeditions also drop things normally, but they don't drop on the map - I suspect to keep people focused on moving as fast as possible instead of chasing loot. These are gathered for you and delivered from the drop pod if you succeed or from the chest if you fail - that's where most of the blues come from.

Gotcha. Makes way more sense now. I was very confused at first and discouraged over not having a single new legendary in 12-15 expeditions (which seems like a bad luck streak more than anything at CT11 with 7.5% legendary drop percentage.

It’s a brutal grind up from CT11. I’ve had very unlucky gear and vendor drops although I do have some gear that’s really nice for my Techno with firepower/close/long damage drops which I plan to level to 50

Yeah, we did an experiment yesterday and at tier 14 gold we were getting 1-3 legendries so it is seems to match up with the percentages shown.

I think I'm gonna wait a bit for this game to get fixed more. I would especially love some more robust matchmaking options. I want to play this game on highest WT but definitely need teammates to do that. No one was joining my public game so I tried matchmaking and, after like 4 times failing to join a group offered to me, I finally joined a crew...on like the second level of the game playing at WT1. I still went with it, and revived my two other teammates multiple times over like 3 minutes, only for them to suddenly kick me. Once kicked, I went to matchmaking, ended up on the second mission again, this time with the connection to other players dropping after 5 minutes or so, booting me out to a single player version of the second mission. I quit to the menu and discovered my story progress had been set way back. I could move it back to the chapter I had been at, but having lost at least one difficult checkpoint. Bleh. I just want to start my next mission and wait to have a couple of other people at the same or similar point in the game on the same or similar WT join me. It doesn't seem like that should be so hard!

First WT15 is only like CT(pod/challenge tier) 8 or 9. So there's more levels out there.
Second I suspect that most of the gaming population is playing expeditions at top WTs and not the game world itself.
Third take advantage of your friends list. Xplay works and there's more than a few of us gearing up for Eye of the Storm and if we have room don't have a problem running with others.

Only caveat there is that we've been seeing performance issues with discrepancies in between East/West Coast players and folks internet service. They really need to fix that in a hurry.

It has its hooks in me deep. I’m approaching the end of the story so I haven’t seen any endgame content yet but am having an absolute blast. I’m even enjoying the story despite its occasional predictability, bad dialogue, and bad voice acting. There’s just enough intrigue and turns to keep me engaged. I really love the trope of traveling across an unexplored area slowly building your party.

As someone that doesn’t replay games too often, I can see myself immediately jumping in as a different class. It helps that there is no reason to have more than one of each class.
