Genshin Impact Gacha-of-the-Wild All

(Don’t ask me WHY pinecones are needed for making burgers — some stones are better left unturned.)

Burgers, hash browns, what's that difference? I imagine you need the oil from the pinecone seeds to fry them.

So, wish history is stored for 6 months, meaning people playing since launch are getting close to losing the record of the earliest wishes. Some fans put together genshin-wishes.com to permanently record your wish history and give you stats and info on your wishes (for example, I know I am guaranteed a 4* on my next banner wish, and need another 83 before my guaranteed 5*). It gives you handy little charts too!

You can just see my desperation for Klee, the moment I realized you can get standard wishes from leveling characters to 20, and, of course, Hu Tao.

I'm not alone! This is a graph of the estimated profits Genshin Impact made from the iOS store in China:

Got Venti last night. I had 320 primos and decided I was close enough to pity to do single pulls, first was a 3* weapon. Venti popped on the next one. Now I really need to get some relics on him. I also need a bit more upgrade materials as I got him to lvl 69 with talents to 2/4/5 before running out. Couldn't quite figure him out for the abyss and was tired by the time I tried and just got fed up after 2 more attempts at 11-2. I assume this is mostly because I rarely has his ult ready to go. I hate electric / energy drain.

EDIT: As for the use of pinecones, it seems pinecones are good for 2 recipes, with the hashbrowns generating a possible special dish with Razor cooking.

I still feel like I'm still missing a number of recipes, but did notice 2 new ones at both city's food shops after the Windblume even event started. I guess it could have been earlier, that's just about when I noticed. I think it was a 1 or 2 star and a 3 star recipe each.

Nice. I'd love to get Venti- or anyone who can use a bow besides Amber really...

I made some progress last night too. Did a bunch of the Windblume events that I hadn't done yet. Got a bunch of rewards and tickets. I'm at AR29, so I also started preparing Jean so I can ascend her the moment I reach AR30, and started working on gathering the stuff to ascend Bennett as well.

I also finally took on the 3rd floor of the Abyss and unlocked Xiangling. I don't know if she'll fit into my party, but at least I finally got the last free character unlocked.

EDIT: Regarding Razor- the Venti banner did not want to give him to me... I've done a ton of single wishes on that banner, and now have Sucrose and Noelle at C4 each, but no Razor.

You will get there. Fischl tends to show up for most people eventually, and she's a nice support with her ability, which leaves a familiar on the field to keep attacking. Either way, save those primogems and eventually you will be able to get something you want pretty easily.

Actually, is there anyone here at AR 55 who doesn't have Fischl? And maybe getting her is partly because she showed up in a lot of banners early, too?

EDIT to answer your edit:

There's a 5* pity system that starts kicking in around 75 wishes. And that's some crap luck since Razor is great, especially with his ult on the final phase of the Geo hypostasis.

I think I read that Fischl used to be able to be unlocked for free, but I don't think that's a thing anymore, so for new players it might be a bit harder to get her.

And yeah, my pity kicked in around 75; that's when I pulled Jean on the Venti banner.

A copy of Fischl was the marquee reward from the event in 1.1, so basically she was free to anyone who played at that time. She was also on the first Venti banner, I think? Anyway, she was on one of the early banners, so a lot of people rolled her very early in addition to the free instance from the event.

For April Fool's Day, Hu Tao took over Genshin Impact's social accounts in place of Paimon. Among her other shenanigans she made a comment about Mihoyo's other game...

Wow, that's a Wendy's level burn, but to their own property.

I performed the monthly ritual of buying the 10 fates from the store this morning. The standard pulls yielded a Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds! It looks like R1 is superior to even an R5 Solar Pearl for Ning, so I guess I'll be leaving my pearl at R2 and giving priority to levelling up the new catalyst.

Looks like Ganyu will finally get that Viridescent Hunt next battle pass unless a prototype drops in the meantime.

Nice!

I only rolled my five standard banner tokens, but I got two four stars! Xiangling and Xiangling. So now I something like C12 Xiangling -- it's going to be great!

I just checked this out for myself. Pretty cool!

This clearly shows that all of my luck so far has been funneled into my C1 and C2 Ganyu pulls

I love that it shows how many wishes it took to get each specific 5* pull. So many 70+ pull 5*s. But that Diluc nearly double pull was so sweet!

Congrats on the C2 Ganyu, Dyni. That's impressive.

Well, at the last minute (last day, whatever) I grinded out the tickets I needed to get the Windblume Bow and all 4 refinements.

That was the least fun I've had in Genshin Impact so far. Too many static screens between events, too many countdowns, too much randomness- not only in the way the events are picked, but also in the events themselves. Seriously, screw the shimmering path... and whatever the one was where the floor falls beneath you.

Then there's the final fight that you had to fight... every single time; it was not good. The fight would always end with me stuck against a wall and the two big monsters blocking my movement as I chaotically spam my attack and skill buttons until the game said I won.

And now after all that effort, the best 4-star weapon I own in the game is in Ambers hands.... ...until I get any other character that uses a bow.

Oh and the game finally gave me Razor on a wish, when I was really hoping for another Sucrose or two to get her C6 unlocked before the Venti banner goes away.

I you are in need of some Mora or want to test your Genshin knowledge, the new A Thousand Questions with Paimon has started. Only lasts three days, for a total of 150,000 mora.

I quite enjoyed the balloon, rhythm, and free falling parts of the event, but I agree about your Peculiar Wonderland complaints. It didn't help that the ticket rewards were much stingier than in past events, so you had to go through it so many times to buy out the store.

Yeah, even spacing it out throughout the event as the stages unlocked, it was a bit of a grind -- particularly being forced to wait for timers built for managing co-op when playing solo, and having an RNG activity selector aggressively keep me from being able to even attempt some of the challenges.

I think without those annoyances I would have found it an amusing change of pace, but even still I wouldn't have recommended trying to mainline the entire thing at once -- the events are generally a lot of fun, but FAR more recommendable paced out throughout the week or two that they unfold.

Seven hours

If anyone else is lazy like me, here's a cheat sheet for easy money: https://www.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Imp...

Looks like Rosaria is capable of some pretty incredible burst:

54k ticks on reverse melt procs She says it's comparable with her C6 Ganyu in terms of burst damage, though obviously Ganyu is much better on sustained damage. That's pretty crazy.

Boo, just used up the remaining primogems I had left to get 15 wishes on the new banner hoping for Rosaria. Got Fischl instead. Poop.

Yeah, that's the thing -- it won't be long before you are drowning in 4 stars, but sometimes getting a SPECIFIC one is harder than getting a 5 star. There is a guarantee you will always get a 5 star character after 90 pulls and that every other one WILL be the promoted character, but the guarantee for the 4 stars is that you will get one every 10 pulls, and that every other one will be one of THREE promoted characters. That is, you could pull forever and only get Fischl and Barbara.

Today's Contending Tides was easy...

IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/28zOtbU.png)

Mind you that was peak damage, after ramping up from the buffs. Would have been higher if I had remembered to use Geo resonance!

It feels like they're beta testing new Abyss modifiers. I was getting 30K hits from Ningguang's charged attack and I can't wait to see the utterly disgusting Ganyu clips that'll come out of this.

Btw, how's Rosaria, Mantid? I was close to my 4-star pity on that banner and unfortunately got Barbara after 3 pulls. As I'm C6 on Fischl and Barbara, I wasn't planning doing any more, unless you have a glowing trip report.

I haven't tried pulling for her, but word is that she's very similar to Kaeya as a support unit in terms of damage and cryo application, with slight tweaks in play style and utility that make her a bit better in some ways and a bit worse in others.

- Her skill is a teleport, but has a bit less AOE. Cooldown is the same, and energy generation is similar (constellations change this a bit).

- Her burst is stationary but larger area, where his follows the player. Both are similar total damage and cryo application if enemies are in contact for the full duration, but his tick rate is faster, so it might get more cryo on a target if you're burning it off fast.

- Her burst gives a crit buff whereas his skill gives extra energy when freezing targets.

Overall, the general sentiment is that if you either haven't built Kaeya or feel like you could use two characters filling that support niche, she's a good pickup. Otherwise, you're probably good with Kaeya.

(Rosaria constellations might be easier to get ahold of though, since Kaeya ONLY drops from the standard banner.)

As for using them as carries, if you're thinking cryo (ie, using Chongyun to convert their autos to cryo) they're going to be similar. She, however, is going to be a MUCH better physical carry since she can use Crescent Pike, and since she's cryo she's probably got the easiest path to abusing superconduct of any of the potential physical carries in the game -- or at least equal to Razor. Especially if you haven't already built Xiangling or Zhongli as a physical carry, she might be fun in that role.

But, also remember that there's a 5 star cryo/physical carry almost certainly coming next patch (Eula), so if you're likely to be interested in her she's likely to become the premier superconduct carry when she's available.

I wished on the new banner and got my 4-star pity. A claymore...

Yesterday I made a few wishes and got Rosaria. Today I crafted her a Crescent Pike and managed to level both her and the spear up to 50 (my current party is locked at 60 until I reach AR35). Her artifacts are crap, but I'm seeing a big improvement with her added to the team. My only regret is there's no room for Sucrose anymore, and I had really been enjoying her lately, as she was just starting to pull out some surprising damage at times.

Right now I've got Bennett, Jean, Xingqiu and Rosaria all rotating between DPS and support. I'm still lacking a decent ranged character, and so I've also leveled Amber up to 50 to swap in at times - mostly for the Oceanid fight.

Woot! 3 months after Ganyu's release, I finally got a bow billet to drop. Only been able to get the prototype crescent up to level 70 so far, but the improvement from a level 60 sharpshooter's oath is hilarious. Sitting about 500 atk higher, with another ~400 attack after a weak spot hit. Once I get the bow done, I'll probably finish farming her Blizzard Strayer set for permafreeze fun.

Anyone else been doing the Wishful Drops event? Good way to get extra XP - if you can handle the boss fight that's basically a reworked Oceanid fight. There's 5 areas to explore and capture water creatures Pokimon style- which each gives primogems and an item that lets you collect the event boss fight rewards without using resin. The boss fight gives more XP than two XP Laylines combined. And after doing all five areas, and then beating the boss once, you get a pet to follow you around.

I'm still finding the Oceand fight frustrating, but usually doable- but if it summons those birds I'm swearing at my computer screen. I was able to beat the boss here for the 5 "free" times the event gives you, for some much need XP books after leveling up Rosaria, and now trying to get my party to 70.

I find the Rhodeia's Rage fight easier and far less annoying than the normal Oceanid fight. Less down time between windows to do damage and she doesn't summon some of the more annoying mimics. I've been tempted to grab more XP books from the event, but where I am now, continuing to get my artifacts in order will have a bigger impact on my characters than a few more levels.
