Humble Monthly Gamble Discussion Thread

Sniper looks like a bargain bin game, and Shenmue III was such a flop that my instant reaction to this bundle was massive disappointement.

But Main Assembly looks neat. So does In Other Waters. My partner was about to buy Aven Colony last night, too (until we saw the price).

So yeah I'm not too sure about this one. A big fat "maybe".

Definitely a pause for me.

Yep, pause for me too.

Upon reconsidering...

This is not a great bundle for me. It's been a long time since I've felt excited about these, and that's a shame.

May 2021 games:

Metro Exodus
Darksiders Genesis
Hellpoint
Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3
Levelhead
Fury Unleashed
Size Matters
Morkredd
Relicta
Retimed
Family Man
Vane

Looks like another month, another pass.

Yup, definitely a pass here. I think I'm finally at a point of just cancelling outright. I have more games than I have time to play as it is, and tossing more on the pile isn't healthy at this point. I didn't want to give up that classic choice account, but the truth is there just hasn't been a month where I was interested in more than 3 games since they changed everything up. And even those months are rare.

I'm loosely interested in Hellpoint (I do love some soulsy stuff) and Metro Exodus. Darksider's Genesis was appealing until I realized it was more like the original games and not a ARPG like I assumed.

I'd probably get my money out of it, but I'm struggling to want to pay for more games when I have Game Pass and a solid backlog already.

I've just reached a breaking point with so many games. So often I get intrigued, buy a bundle, and never play a damn thing.

I played a couple hours of Darksiders Genesis in Co-op. It felt action-RPGish along the lines of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. But.... It's also on Gamepass.

Ha! Well there you go

Another month another pause.

I'm not overly enthused about this month, but I still have 4 months remaining pre-paid from a few years ago and I kinda just want to get rid of them so I can stop paying attention to Humble Choice. Also, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3 should be pretty fun for a few minutes, and I might even try Hellpoint.

The version of Metro: Exodus in the bundle will get the upgrade to the Enhanced Edition, which is cool. There's at least one or two other games in there that I'm interested in that I'll pick this month up.

Even if I pause most months there is one good thing about being subbed. I am more reluctant to buy smaller games, because “maybe” they will show up on Humble some day. Kinda similar with PSN plus too.

Watched some videos and nothing is really grabbing me so I jumped on the pause wagon.

June 2021:

Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI Platinum Edition
Secret Neighbor
Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse
Worms Rumble + Legends Pack DLC*
Going Under
Panzer Paladin
Milky Way Prince - The Vampire Star
DESOLATE
Ikenfell
Paw Paw Paw
Effie
Disjunction

This looks like a really good month, if only for Civ 6 Platinum (all DLCs & Expansions).

Yeah, I had Going Under and Panzer Paladin in my radar. Ikenfell is supposed to be very good and Paw Paw Paw looks pretty interesting. Worms Rumble seems to be sadly dead and I'm not sure this will bring it to life.

Finally, my year and a half pause-a-thon comes to an end, that's one hell of a deal (though It doesn't include ALL the dlc, there's a bunch of new civs that have been released since last year that aren't included, but what is there is more than enough for any civ fan.

The rest of the bundle I have no idea

Garg, this would be a sweet deal if I didn't already have all the Civ Platinum stuff already. I'll likely pass, I took a quick look at the other items and nothing really grabbed me.

Ah, my apologies! You're correct - it looks like the Platinum edition doesn't include the "New Frontier Pass".

Yeah, I own everything you can possibly own for Civ 6. A good deal otherwise.

EXTREMELY interested in Panzer Paladin and quite curious about Going Under. This would have been a slam dunk had I not recently bought all of the Civ stuff.

If anyone doubles up on those, I'd happily give them a loving home

Base Civ6 was part of a bundle previously, and I completed to get Platinum... Might be a pass again this month.

1:11 PM - Your Humble Choice subscription is now unpaused
7:24 PM - Your Humble Choice subscription is now paused.

I'm sure I'd play Civ VI just as much as I've played Civ V, which I haven't bothered installing yet. The rest just isn't for me.

Okay, I have informed Humble Bundle the required 721 times that I'd indeed like to pause my subscription, and no I didn't accidentally click on the pause button 720 times previously.

Are you sure you want to pause?

I've definitely sent them some "It's not you—it's me" feedback when pausing. I already have a TON of unplayed games so it's going to have to include something I want to play now. Otherwise, I just can't add more to the pile.

July 2021 seems like a pretty decent month for Humble Choice:

Yakuza 3 Remastered
The Surge 2
DIRT 5
Hammerting
Nimbatus - The Space Drone Constructor
Paradise Killer
Kill It With Fire
Bee Simulator
ELDERBORN
S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster
Deadly Days
ADOM (Ancient Domains Of Mystery

The first three are all part of Xbox Game Pass, but they'll make a darned fine addition to my Steam library for a bit of permanence. Also Paradise Killer's been on my wishlist since it was recommended to me earlier this year, and the current 30% discount on Steam still brings it to a price higher than what the Humble Choice price would be.

If you're considering this month's bundle, definitely look into Paradise Killer. It is fantastic. It's sort of like a Danganronpa game with more freedom to explore and a really cool style overall.

If I subscribed to Humble Choice and didn't have Game Pass, I'd say this is the best month in ages. The Surge 2 is a quite fun futuristic Souls-like with a combat / drop system that just works so much for me since if you attack and execute correctly, you get the part. No random chance about it.

I've actually had my eye on ADOM for a while.
