Immortals Fenyx Rising

Main game seems to be $25 everywhere this week too.

Not complaining about the quick price drops because I got a PS5 game for $30 in Dec. But it's such a great game I don't understand the quick drop.

I restored all 4 gods last week, so could have probably beat it this weekend? Easy to get distracted with so many things on the map.

I just rebought it for the PS5 because I was looking for something to play on it that would be pretty. I originally played on Stadia but got distracted.

I am really enjoying it. All the exploration of Assassin's Creed with a much more light hearted tone.

Finally hit point of no return. Wish it had been before that big story beat. I feel like a jerk running off and finishing a couple puzzles now but I have to. So close.

Maybe I'll finish this week.

And finished. Got the 100% of Hermes quests, and a couple other trophies before the end. Since I got everything (except potions) maxed, and several extra levels (+10 stamina, +2 health, +9 on both sets of powers, +1 on weapon/armor), the end fight was laughably easy. Nice to see a little twist in the Zeus and Prometheus story at the end. Ending cutscene was cool, especially the Phospor bit.

As for the trophies... some are silly, cutting down 100 trees, finding every mount. Once I have a legendary mount, what do I need with 10 other mounts? Bah. And somehow I missed gods side quest trophy. But I felt like I did a quest for each of them and talked to everyone, but never got another quest? Maybe sometime I'll chase the other trophies? Or get the DLC. I don't know. Game was a lot of fun, but I think hunting down a bunch of minor trophies will be less fun.

Just bought this today, half price on the UBI store and another 20% for 100 U coins or whatever they are. £20 seems pretty god to me!

Anyone have thoughts on the dlc?

I don't fancy $40 for a season pass. I'll get to it someday on sale for $10-15 and play NG+ and/or trophy hunt a couple years from now.

The first DLC is just puzzle dungeons, not really much story beyond just "doing said challenges for the gods in Olympus", and it's a separate thing that involves no progress form the main game and you don't carry over any progress (it's unnecessary). If you REALLY like the challenge dungeons then they're quite fun, but otherwise it's not really essential.

Haven't got the new one yet. I've uninstalled the game for now so i'll probably come back to it later if there's a sale or something.

oh wait, there's also no female option in the new DLC so...f*ck that in the bin then.

Well crap. I loved that game, but the DLC has proved to be very underwhelming. Having been burned before by past Ubisoft DLC, I"m glad I just stuck with the base game.

Yeah the only potential DLC that seemed fun was the upcoming China based one. The rest seemed, even in the trailer, meh to bleh.

WTF?!? The character options was one of the best parts?

Apparently the new DLC was made by one of Ubisoft's Chinese studios, which is neat.

I enjoyed Fenxy for about 15 hours and then lost interest. A good 15 hours.

That's more the fair. The game can get a little middling in the eh middle. Although some of the dialogue is a highlight but that can be watched in youtube.

I picked up the dlc because the season pass was on sale and played through the first one. It’s just a bunch of new trials. I was really liking it until I got to the final trial, the trial of Zeus. It was one of the worst levels I’ve ever played. The rest of the game is really clever and well thought out, so it’s baffling to think how the same people could have designed this. If I were reviewing the first dlc I would have given it an 8.5 prior to playing the final trial, but after its a 6 tops.

There were 1 or 2 trials in the main game that made me think that.

Several of the weekly challenge ones were insane but those are optional so I can forgive it.

Same. Liked I really enjoyed most the shrines. But the last one before the final boss was awful. Same thought. Like the main designer took a day off and the C team was in charge.

Yeah that one had me frustrated because of the lightning strikes. Particularly in the fights where you would have to avoid enemy attacks and the constant lightning strikes. The last battle, which was a little difficult on its own, was so frustrating because of this mechanic.

If they made the strikes happen every like 45 seconds instead of every 10 seconds that would have eased the frustration.

I did end up finishing that level and ended up feeling more upset than elated because of the annoyance factor. But the ending to that DLC was decent and in the end I still really enjoyed it.

I finally let this get a hold of me and just met Ares Rooster.
I had some real lol's.

Damn, this is so good! How did I completely miss this one until now?

Can't complain too much, I suppose, as it did only cost me $18.

It is very good, and dropped in price very quickly.

Yeah it only cost $30 in Dec 2020. Still great.

Base game was a delight but the dlcs were fairly lame/grindy. Definitely a fun game.

It’s great. I thought it only got better as the game went on. Last year it was my number 2 ranked game behind Hades. I really hope they make a sequel

Agreed.
Although you could over level and make the end game really simple. But still a blast.

Got it via Gamestop for $14.44 (on Switch, no less) earlier this week. It's back up to ~$17 on all platforms as of this post.

Wow, the Switch players were not joking. The game does not look good compared to the PC version. Fun game, though. Definitely better than expected, including the narrator conversations and such.

Goddamn this game is so good. How is this thread only 6 pages long?? It's basically Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but fun.

I'm playing it via PC Game Pass (it links over to Ubisoft), and I'm like 20 hours in. The only criticism I'd really have of it is that there's not a ton of variety in enemies; there's maybe 10 different non-unique enemies that get repeated pretty liberally, with visibly tiered difficulties of each (e.g. green, blue, purple). Even still, combat is fun and engaging, and there's almost always a few different ways to go about resolving combat; even some of the puzzles can be solved in ways that I'm willing to bet the developers 100% didn't intend, but also didn't go out of their way to prevent, and I thank them for that.

I think you answered your own question.
It's super fun and was a great switch from BotW and Valhalla for me, but it's not without some noticeable flaws.
