Genshin Impact Gacha-of-the-Wild All

Whoo, thanks for the advice. I focused on the boss with the materials needed to ascend Bennett and it wasn't too bad of a fight - just took a long time. I now have my first character, Bennett, ascended past level 40, and I'm not feeling as inept and incompetent as I was earlier.

Also, it looks like the ability to lower the world level doesn't unlock until you reach world level 5- so that's not an option for me at the moment. I am a little less worried about going to world level 2, so I don't think I'll put that quest off too long.

Don't forget that you can level your talents as well. Talent levels can increase a character's power significantly. Generally speaking, you will only level basic attack talents for your primary carries. Supports usually stay at level 1 because you'll very rarely auto attack with them.

In my own world, I've started to mess around with the tone-deaf bard...

Worth the 150 rolls

Yeah, that domain in particular is made silly by Venti + Ganyu.

Or anything where Venti can lift all targets for that matter.

Last night I did the ascension quest and got the world level to 2. Also I unlocked AR26, so I can do story quests and the event hangouts now.

And confession time... I've spent money on this game now. A total of $50 over the past few days.* With my wishes I was hoping to get lucky and unlock C1 of Bennett, but instead the game gave me enough Sucrose to get her C4 unlocked. Good thing I've really been enjoying having her in my party.

I lost the 50/50 on the Venti banner, when my 5-star pity arrived, and I got Jean instead. Looks like she might be fun to swap into my current party once I build her. But between Bennett, Xingqiu and Jean that's a lot of sword users I'll have to equip.

*Hoping to lock-in my money spent here, as $50 is what I would have enjoyed paying for this game outright.

TScott, I'm jealous of your Jean. Between her and Bennett, you're basically set for healers in the Abyss.

I wish you luck in your quest to curtain spending. I mostly manage to stick with only the Welkin and Battle Pass, but I spent money for both Ganyu and Venti.

If Jean shows up and my primogen reserves aren't sufficient, I'll likely spend again.

C4 for Sucrose doesn't do much for you unless you are running a very specific niche comp, but C1 and C2 are both huge upgrades for her. That also means you're only a couple copies off her C6, which is great.

Just to give you a little breakdown on the spending in case you do decide to spend any more, the best values by far are Blessing of the Welkin Moon and the battle pass. Welkin Moon gives you 3000 primogems for $5. The catch is that you get 300 up front and then 90 per day for 30 days, so it's only worthwhile if you plan to play for at least that long. That works out to enough primogems for 18.75 rolls.

Compare that to the 6560 primos (including the one time double bonus) you get for the $50 pack. That works out to 41 rolls. It's an immediate payout at a greatly reduced value. Welkin works out to $0.27 per roll vs. $1.22 per roll for the $50 pack. I have thought about buying a pack several times, but have thus far managed to talk myself out of it every time after doing the math and reminding myself that $50 would barely get me halfway to the soft pity cap. If you think you'll be playing for at least that long and think you'll spend more, I'd pick up Blessing of the Welkin Moon before considering any of those other packs.

The battle pass gives you a bunch of resources like xp books, mora, enhancement ore, talent books, and one 4* weapon, but hardly any primogems. It's basically a big short cut to powering up your characters. You can farm XP books and Mora at leylines, but it would cost you a lot of resin to make up for what the battle pass gives you. I'm not sure exactly how much, but I'm guessing close to a couple weeks of resin. Maybe someone here can correct me on that. It's not at all necessary to progress, but it's a good value if you want it.

My breakdown of what I spent is $5 on the Welkin Moon, so I am getting that daily bonus for the next 20+ days, then the $15 pack for some instant gratification. Then a few days later I realized that the $30 pack with the 1st time double bonus would get me to my 5-star pity, so I got that.

I was looking at the battle pass but wasn't comprehending exactly how that works. I currently am making minimal progress on the free stuff- daily login, daily commissions, mine 10 items, and occasionally something gets unlocked accidentally. I'm just starting to figure out the resin stuff. Maybe when I start getting to the higher levels I will realize the battle pass value, and how I can make the most of it.

You'll probably start to see the value when you get your adventure rank a bit higher. The nice thing is that you can very safely wait on the battle pass, and you probably should. You want the Welkin Moon running asap, but you can wait to buy in on the battle pass until the very last day and get everything the $10 tier would unlock. I would absolutely recommend waiting until close to the end to decide if it's worth it to you. It looks like the current BP has 28 days left.

Are you able to buy stuff with "money" from google play accounts? I have money in there from the google rewards that would be nice to spend on this. I currently just play on PC but if google monies work then I could download it on my phone just to get the welkin pack each month, ha.

I've seen comments about people doing exactly that with Google money.

No appearances of Diona or Klee in this event?!

I have a feeling certain characters will not be making many appearances in events / story quests as some like Klee are likely additions after the story was designed / are not grounded well within the game world. Players like Diluc, Jean, Venti, Zhongli, etc will likely continue to get more screen time. I even felt Razor showing up was a bit of a shock, but I guess it made sense and of course was only a small bit.

Well, my hope is that they have something else planned for them in the future.

Fischl and Mona where the other two Mondstadt characters who didn't make a cameo, but they were the stars of the Unreconciled Stars event a few months back. And this event turns out to not be Ludi Harpastum, which is, according to Venti in the comic, "a most famous festival for girls and boys!"

There goes my primos again lol...

Unless she ends up being an extremely good cryo applicator, I'll wait for the five star version next patch.

I'm undecided. I am okay not getting her right away, but I certainly wouldn't mind a C1 for my Childe, so I might end doing 30 or 40 rolls.

I wonder if they plan to update the default 5* pool any time in the near future.

I'm not super familiar with the usual ways gacha games work, but reading other folks talk it seems like there's maybe a better chance of them either moving more permanently to more frequent banner changes, or starting an additional line of rerun banners running concurrently with new character banners. Either way, though, I would expect any big shakeups until the game's first anniversary and/or the launch of the new region at the earliest.

IfI had to bet on new 5-star being added to the standard wish, I would put my money on two or three new 5-stars being added with or soon after the release of each new nation, characters that represent that new area.

Just got to AR20 and unlocked the Windblume event. Anything worth doing in that? Seems like a bunch of minigame quests to get tickets for a shop? Any good items I should go for in it?

Ooh, that's going to be tough given that you've only got a few days left.

So, there are two shops, all of which are offering a lot of items that will cost you a LOT of resin to earn at your level, so whatever you can get is great. As with all their events, it's been set up so that it's not too hard to earn everything in the shop if you do it as the event rolls out, but I'm not sure you'll have time for everything right now.

Also, I think maybe the activity for earning the blue tickets might have had a higher AR requirement -- I recall seeing something like 36, but I don't know if that was AR or character level. In any case, the blue ticket shop has the big thing for the event -- essentially a free four star bow (that's pretty decent, especially if you don't have a lot of weapons from the gacha banners) that you can get to refinement five with the other item you can get from the shop. So, I'd say if you can do that activity, prioritize getting the bows.

After that, I'm not sure what's most resin efficient between the talent books, weapon ascension materials, exp books, or mora, but it's all a great deal so grab whatever you need most.

Items that you can't get outside of this event: Windblume Ode (the bow and "The Visible Winds" to ascend it), Commemorative Balloon, & Windsong Lyre

Items you can only get in events: Crown of Insight

Items you can't earn from domains: Dust of Azoth

I'd prioritize all of those, with the lyre and then the balloon as the lowest ones (the lyre is kinda fun, the balloon is kinda silly and useless, and neither has any effect on combat/progression). You can buy the Dusts of Azoth with the Stardust you get from making wishes, but it isn't the best use of Stardust. The Dusts of Azoth have been huge in helping me get the character ascension materials I've needed.

It's character level. We can help you in the Peculiar Wonderland if you need it. And, I admit, it is a bit more fun messing around in it with someone on Discord than when I is when hitting it solo.

Oh! Thanks for reminding me. I think I have tickets to use. I messed around a bit with the balloons and gliding events, but never realized where to look/go for the shop.

There's also 4 chapters of quests with this event (I'm not sure when these unlocked for me). Most of them are running around and talking to people. You get a total of 400 primogems for completing them all (or you could do the first one from each chapter if you're short on time for 60 primogems each).

EDIT: Looks like I'll be trying to grind out a bunch of stuff over this weekend to get the most out of this event. I've only taken a passing glance at it and what it offered because it wasn't available to me when I first started playing. It wasn't until just 2 days ago I started doing all the quests. I think I may be only able to unlock one or two "Hangouts" -not sure if those offering anything rewarding beyond the having an event with each character.

An interesting (and generally encouraging) break down of what the game looks like after 6 months of being purely free to play.

If you don't mind the grind, focus on the event (that is, all the activities that give you tickets) before hangouts -- the event is time limited, but the hangouts will stay around permanently.

The rewards for hangouts come from stepping through the branching tree and seeing all possible endings. (Worth noting that you don't have to start from the beginning every time, just at the step before where there was a branch you haven't taken!) What you get definitely has value (I've farmed out all the endings for all the hangouts for the rewards), basically because it's resources that would otherwise cost resin to earn. Since they aren't infinitely farmable items in the normal course of things, having a way to get a few more without spending resin is always welcome.

Again, though, there's no time restriction for the hangouts, so just do them at whatever pace is fun for you!

Thanks. The peculiar thing wasn't too bad. Ran it 4 times just now and got 800 tickets so picked up the bow and maxed out on the dust. Guess I'll do some more in the next few days to get the visible winds.

A new month has started for the daily check in. Looks like it wasn't just a one time thing.

Day 24 and 25 still annoy me by being backwards from all the other weeks.

It looks like he has enough primogems for 5 guaranteed 5 stars assuming the worst possible luck, and that doesn't include any of the acquaint or intertwined fates given out as rewards along the way. Not bad.

4.5 million gold does sound very low though. Pure F2P players would need to do a good amount of leyline farming to max out multiple characters and talents.

Edit:

Thanks for the heads up. I hope they plan to move this in game soon.

Is there something that it takes 500,000,000 pinecones to unlock? Why to I keep picking these up every time I walk over them?

They’re an ingredient for Monstadt Burgers, one of the easier/more convenient health restorative items to make, so grab every one you can!

(Don’t ask me WHY pinecones are needed for making burgers — some stones are better left unturned.)
