NCAA Basketball 20-21 Catch-All

So who is setting up the pool here?

I never do brackets or pools, so I dunno.

I usually do but not feeling it at the moment, need a few hours to be pissed.

If you were in it last time (2 years ago) the ESPN GWJ group should still reactivate. Password:

Spoiler:

stan

If it's not automatically renewed I will get to it sometime tonight.

Yeah that's it. Pacers49ers is my ESPN handle from way back.

Now if I can just remember my password to login...

In, and if I win because I am the only entrant, I will gloat here for at least another year. I may even put my championship in my sig.

Alright I signed up. Looks like only 4 of us so far, but it's a start.

Since the games are moved this year, the deadline is Friday at noon. So everyone has time still.

I'm in. Since I have watched about 10 minutes this year, I feel great about my bracket.

I feel great about your bracket too. Honestly, I suspect it's anyone's game for the most part. Gonzaga is a powerhouse, but they're going to see teams and play styles they've not encountered. Baylor is a different team at this point in the season, not as dominant as they were early. Michigan looked great for a while, but had some surprising lapses, and then lost Isaiah Livers for the foreseeable future. Illinois might be surging at the right time.

Iowa and ohio State have been hot and cold. Villanova lost a star point guard. Texas is inconsistent. Oklahoma state might be a good choice, but I think they go as far as Cade Cunningham can carry them.

Can't sleep on Houston, FSU, or Alabama.

Gonna be interesting to watch.

Lot of injuries yeah. Michigan and Villanova definitely not as good as their seed.

Georgia Tech lost the ACC PotY out this weekend with covid. Very unlikely they can beat a 1 seed without him, or maybe not even their first game.

Kansas and Virginia, still not sure who is available.

Hell, UVA will be lucky to practice before their game!

I saw the news about Moses Wright this morning... that's a big loss for an already undersized GT team (no pun intended). I suspect they will be in dire straits without him helping to anchor the post.

Louisville should have replaced them.

Rules were that every team had to be in Indy Monday and start testing. But they made an exception for UVA and said they could show up today.

Pretty entertaining first four. A few close games. Thought App was done then thought they might run away with it. So close.

Yeah, some real back-n-forth in a lot of the first four. Thought Drake was done for and then fought back hard! App St was almost there, and then just failed to execute in their final 2 possessions.

When I called it a night, MSU Spartans presented by Rocket Mortgage were up 11 at half, I saw Izzo berate one of his players on the way to the locker room, but figured they would likely carry the game... instead it went to OT where they lost? Crazy!

Today's the big day!

Yeah I meant to come back and celebrate the night cap. Stayed up for it, and it was worth it. So 3 games end at 1 point or tied in regulation, and one game at 8 points. Best first four ever. Maybe they will consider keeping this format with all 4 games on the same night.

2 more hours to submit brackets if anyone hasn't yet!

Sorry to be lazy but where is a good place to stream games today?

here, maybe?

Thanks Tyrian! Seems to work for me!

And the first game of the day to overtime too!

Very entertaining so far

I like the Ohio State potentially losing bit but I don't like that it's to 900 foot Jesus University.

Oh wow. I heard a sound... a sound as if tens of thousands of brackets suddenly went up in flames, and then were silent.

Cya Ohio State!

Ok, I’ll see y’all after midnight madness.

ACC is now 0-2... Not a great showing so far!

Vols sucked. Hit a day when the offense didn't show up. So inconsistent all year long. Great looking games, then sleepwalk games like today.

Oh well. Can't have nice things in sports around here

UNC on track to make it 0-3. Sigh.

Both got screwed on seed. And Vah Tech still went to OT.

But with Moses out sick I don't think GT would have beat anyone this weekend

Yeah, Roy trying to blow his 29-0 first round record

Yep. Wisconsin showing more offensive firepower than I've seen from them most of the season. The Heels look lost out there.

Case in point, Brad Davison averages about 10 points per game. He's got 27. Wisconsin is shooting ~55% from three.

It's just one of those games where it didn't matter what we did, the other team wanted it more, and that's gonna be all she wrote.

Sigh. 8min to go, but I am about ready to watch other games. Blah.

That's how it felt when Louisville played Wisconsin after covid break without our 1st Team All ACC point guard.
