Name a Band / Song We Should Know About

These last few years are the most interesting of his career for me. Really sparked my interest again. I liked him back when he was starting, but I sort of lost track of industrial for a decade or so, and then NIN and similar ones had taken over the scene. It's good to see Numan coming back and other bands acknowledging his influence, and performing with him as well. I also like the way he's been mentoring his daughter. He's just all-around a good person.

My Name is Ruin is one of my all-time favorite songs.

This popped up in my recommendations today. Really catchy. I'd never heard of them before.

Cool. Love it!

Dave Grohl's new tribute to Lemmy, in the form of a song using the techniques he learned from the Motorhead master.

Fun track:

25 years ago today Tori Amos released Boys For Pele, most likely her most successful album, but also probably her most challenging.

Caught a lite sneeze was the first single and got a lot of play on MTV's 120 Minutes and Alternative Nation

Talula, the second single, was featured on the soundtrack of 1996's summer blockbuster, Twister.

And there are so many songs on this album that can send you down various rabbit holes as you try to parse out the lyrics and the emotions behind them: Father Lucifer, Little Amsterdam, Putting the Damage On, etc.

My wife shared this with me last night, and I feel like if I don't share it with others something terrible might happen to me.

The music is great, thou.

She looks weirdly uncomfortable in that video. Maybe it’s the platform boots...

I just can't get enough of that Weeknd album After Hours that came out last year. This video and the song just STICKS with me. The video below has the weird plastic surgery thing, and it's so otherworldly. Bought the digital album and ordered the neat Target exclusive vinyl double album. I can just listen to the whole thing on repeat. 17 tracks!

Ambient impresario Steve Roach has put up a 24/7 livestream of his music, accompanied by some freaky visualizations. I have a playlist of his stuff that is 7.4 days long, so you could probably have the stream on for a good long time before hearing a repeat.

This one is for Robear, but y’all are welcome to enjoy it too.

Nice! Thanks for bringing to me.

Not a new band, but new to me and they just released a new album, The Pretty Reckless:

Featuring Tom Morello.

Featuring Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil.

Obviously the last video has a Soundgarden vibe, but really the band's overall sound reminds me of Soundgarden/heavy grunge.

And finally, I discovered them from a great music theory channel on youtube, Rick Beato.

Cindy Lou Who's all growed up.

I just recently discovered these guys... Can't believe its taken me 4 years!

That Greta En Flique is pretty interesting. I like it!

New Japanese Breakfast on the way! This song slaps!

Pre-ordered the vinyl and can't wait.

Well, it certainly makes me want to slap my hands over my eyeballs. Nice groove, though. Very 80's New Wave.

This song is quite different than previous stuff and definitely goes full 80s. I'm curious how much the album will go in that direction.

The Mars Volta is releasing a complete boxed set of their catalog. I had to order it. I love all their albums, and there is some vinyl out there, but not much, and I was never able to get any:

In June of 2020, looking for a way to interact artistically during the COVID-19 lockdown, the producer-songwriter Libra invited a group of artists to record (each one from their homes) a version of the song “It Doesn’t Matter Two” by the legendary British band, Depeche Mode. This video was the result...

Now I want to hear a symphonic metal treatment of Depeche Mode's greatest hits.

Didn't know I wanted psychedelic Turkish music until King Gizz's K.G.L.W. albums.

And for more Turkish, Altin Gün:

...No elevators or supermarkets, where you live?

Vitamin String Quartet covers almost everything under the sun. Granted not as metal as Apocalyptica can get, but i do enjoy them.
