Show us your desk, office or gaming space!

Went back and found my old picture and realised it is over a decade later, we’re in a different house but, I have the same crappy desk and one of the monitors from the original picture!

Prozac's old pic is here.

Hail monitor desk mount brother! That desk has been places and seen things. Look at it doing its job without any complaints at all. Good desk.

I take it Dwarf Fortress had to step aside, as there are minis in this world which require painting.

Did I really make this thread 10 years ago?!

Geez. Anyway, this is my desk at work!

I am beginning to build up my new desk at home. It's a fun project but it takes a ton of time when I have very little with out that a small child

My home setup has changed a year or so ago. My current gaming space:

Here is my new desk/gaming area! What do you think? It took a bit of planning and a week of whatever time I could get to myself to build and set it all up. IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/qta0VIK.jpg)

This retro gaming station that I made back in Feb is behind me from this view:

Tell me your secrets of cable management & hiding.

That's really neat!

I'm guessing he has the cable runners designed to fit behind desk on the edges.

I have two on these on each side.

Office is the first thing we're remodelling in the new house to test the flooring and whatnot. Got the Ikea desk painting finished today. Should get it installed on brackets to the studs tomorrow and hopefully get the giant 48" LG OLED monitor also mounted to the wall. I love the color on the desk.

Was just about to hit the buy button on this corner desk... Seems to be more than good enough to make a gaming/work station for the next 3-4 years before we build a new house. I'll need cable management and will probably add the corresponding file cabinet/ drawer combo thing or 2.

Anyone see any glaring issues?

With the metal for the "legs" basically going around the whole desktop, it may get in the way if you want to mount anything to the desk. As someone who uses a yoke and throttle quadrant to play flightsims, I wouldn't be able to mount those with that desk. I also use monitor arms that are clamped to the back and I think that would get in the way.

Ahh good point. I am not in to flight sims... but the monitor mount thing might be an issue.

After removing some of the clutter (including that pile of papers I still need to file away), this is my desk space at home!

You can't see it, but there's an extra light above the monitors.

Tempest, that looks amazing.

Recently got a vertical stand to finally mount my second monitor up. Took the time to clean up the desk and do some proper cable management. Happy with how it turned out overall for now.

Work laptop on the left, gaming PC on the right. Both hooked to a kvm switch attached at the bottom of the desk for easy access.

Nice setups! Mine got messy quick:

I loooove the 4K 48" LG OLED as a monitor. It's sublime.

A lesser man than I would have made a joke about moving your jerkin' lotion before taking a picture for the internet.

And a better man wouldn't have brought it up at all.

That's my hand cream, you dum dum.

Pfff, men! You dudes underestimate the importance of skin care.

I live in Arizona. It is very dry here. As a result, my elbows, knees and other odd spots on my bod get dried out and rough very easily, so I always have some lotion at hand (Lubriderm unscented for me). I need to use it several times a day, so I keep it in a handy place.

I also have chronic rhinitis, which requires blowing my nose. A lot.

Well, when I got my PS4 Pro years ago, I invited a friend over to check it out. He took one look at my desk, and...

Well I think you can figure out where this is going.

I can't help it that most dudes are chronic self pleasurers. I have other health issues.

Fixed that for you!

I can't quite put my finger on why, but I think Eleima is a Mass Effect fan!

Thanks for choosing this thread as the thread of the week!

I gave the area a bit of a refresh since I built my new PC. The PC is not on the floor anymore since it actually looks good haha. I realized too late that I was sitting on my chair when I took the pictures so it's not there and also the area rug is missing. Oops.

I also have a warm light setting for this when I just want to get cozy.

Yeah, sure, lovely.

Tell me about your guitar(s)!

I have one and I'm terrible.

Y'know what, nevermind, this is the battlestations thread, not the let's talk about masturbation in primates thread...

Mea culpa, Eleima.

I love this setup. A part of me wants to get rid of the three monitors and get an ultrawide. I just kinda need 3 separate spaces as "painters pallets" for work since I do Lighting, texturing, Unreal, 3dmodeling and Photoshop

Not very exciting. Plus I need a new chair. Working from home for a year has taken it's toll. That or use it in the standing desk mode more often.

I like the placement of the Saturn V. I need to find a more prominent place to put mine.

Here's a photo of my dark gaming corner taken a few months ago just after I got a new gaming pc and a second monitor.

Been meaning to post this for a bit. A few months ago I bought an L-shaped desk to separate my gaming and work setups (by a whopping 90 degrees).

Workstation on the right. Battlestation on the left.

The big feature is the right desk lifts up to a standing position. Even though I'm downstairs I at least have a window.

I thought I would slack off and play more games when I'm supposed to be working but it's actually turned out to be the opposite. I think it's why I've played so few games during the pandemic. I need to work on my work/life balance.

I like that narrow window. Are you in a basement looking onto a cul-de-sac?

Vrikk wrote:

Yes, I'm partially underground so when I'm standing my head is just above ground level. Not a cul-de-sac though.
