Genshin Impact Gacha-of-the-Wild All

I am only at 17 stars but haven't attempted floor 11 this time. I'm feeling hopeful I can make some real progress now that I have Ganyu and Diluc bolstering my party. Diluc is a near constant fire damage machine.

Also, don't forget to claim your web event primogems (looks like just 188) if you were doing that event.

Apparently it's randomly 108, 188, or 288.

I got 108. Waaaaaahh waah.

If you struggle with 11-2, don't let that discourage you -- rather than being a DPS/survival check, it's more of a strategic puzzle where you need to figure out which enemies will be attacking the pillar you need to defend. While it is possible to brute force it, doing so requires much bigger numbers than what's needed to clear the rest of floor 11 and floor 12 (maybe even as much or more than is required to 3 star floor 12-3).

So yeah, even if you only manage to 0 or 1 star 11-2, try to keep going -- chances are decent you still might be able to clear through at least part of floor 12.

Today starts the ley line bonus event. Up to 3 times a day you can use 20 resin to claim double rewards from mora or exp ley lines. Assuming you need one of these resources (if you don't, please tell me your secrets), this is effectively 60 free resin a day.

Only invest in nine characters, neglect the powerful five stars you aren't interested in, and don't summon for several months. That said I am hording those XP books for upcoming characters I would like to have...

Edit: Not sure if its a good or bad thing that I just now noticed that Barbara has a pattern on her tights. Is it bad that I'm not observant enough to have noticed before, or good that I haven't stared at her legs enough to spot them?

The battle pass and events make a big difference on exp books, or at least enough that I basically don't use ley lines for them -- especially given how terrible their resin efficiency is under normal circumstances.

I've had the 11 or 12 characters that make up the majority of my teams at acceptable levels for a while now -- that is, most at 70/80, with carries at 80/80 or 80/90 and a few powerful supports at 80/80. After mostly deciding to pass on Hu Tao, I did finally upgrade another handful to 80/80, and now only Kaeya and Xiangling are left at 70/80. Of course, now that I've reached that point it is time to start thinking about pushing one or two of my carries to 90, which is a whole other thing, but for now I'm relatively at peace with respect to exp books.

Mora, on the other hand, there is never, ever enough of. Finally starting to do regular abyss runs every reset within the last month or two has helped a tiny bit, and of course the battle pass and events help as well, but there will literally never be enough mora ever.

That said, I still rarely use ley lines for mora either -- even though it's not as bad as the exp books, the standard resin efficiency is abysmal compared to the value pulled out of running domains or bosses.

All of which is to say, hell yeah I'll be using this event to its fullest extent, because at least for mora I believe it makes it sudden one of the most efficient uses of resin. I'll take one serving of 2.5 million mora, thanks! I've got high tier talents and expensive weapons to level.

It's subtle. I looked on my phone and saw no such pattern, but when I zoomed in enough, the texture started to fall apart curiously and looked a bit like a pattern. So then I started up my desktop to get screenshots of this effect, which only happens at various camera angles. Only then did I notice the pattern you obviously meant.

The pattern does not appear to be viewable from the Character default view, nor from the above and behind perspective the camera likes to hold, so I've never seen it before. I wouldn't worry about blindness unless you're unaware Ganyu has horns or Xiangling has a bell.

That only works if you are happy with the team(s) you have. I wasn't ready to hold back on wishing until I got Diluc, and wasted tons of exp books along the way. At AR 54, the exp book extravaganza has dried up so long ago that I've been rationing since before I got my last 2 desirable characters. I've also gotten Diona and Sucrose in there, which are both being neglected.

I got lucky I guess and got 288 primos from the web event.

Here she comes!

Uggh, must resist pulling on yet another character....I am going to cave aren't I...

Well, it was pretty guaranteed that none of the four stars would be ones I'm interested in...

Using the ley line event I was able to farm just enough books the past two days to get Diluc up to level 90. I need to start working on levelling some of my supports though my Zhongli is a beast and mostly solos stuff.

Super late to the party I suppose, but I finally put the time in and made a full 36 star clear of the abyss.

Congrats I cleared Abyss yesterday, but I was only able to squeeze out 35 stars, and that was after many...many attempts. Those geovishaps have 50% Geo resist, so my Ningguang investment was a big weakness. I had to alter my teams pretty significantly to 3-star 12-1. That meant my teams weren't up to snuff to pull out 3 stars on 12-3.

The new floor 12 is way more difficult than the last couple permutations both because of enemy scaling and the more severe clear time requirements.

Yeah, 11-2 is tough. I was able to brute force it with my Ganyu/Mona pairing this week, but when I cleared it previously, I used geo MC to drop pillars between the archers and the objective. It took some practice juggling and getting the timing down, but you can safely ignore the archers until most of the melee mobs are down if you are able to drop smart pillars and deal with the melee hilichurls and mitachurls first.

In the 2nd half of 11-2, leave the shovel guy and Fatui agent for last. The Fatui agent will focus on you, so as long as you don't bait him into attacking the objective, he won't touch it, and shovel guy doesn't do damage.

I'm at C6 Xingqui and C5 Xiangling at the moment, so same. I haven't looked into Hu Tao at all, so I'm yet not sure how tempted I will be to roll.

Folks may already be aware of this, but just in case you aren't: you actually don't need to get nine stars on a single pass through the floor. Your best rating for each chamber is saved, so once you get three stars on one chamber you can change your teams around to better suit other chambers on future runs. So if you haven't given it a try yet, you might be able to get that last star if you set up teams specifically for 12-3, regardless of how long they might take to clear 12-1 and 12-2.

As ever, one would be wise to wait for final testing because numbers can change right up to the last moment before release (for example, Ganyu got a reasonable buff vs what people were expecting from beta leaks and datamining). That said, here's the rough summary of what leaks and mining have turned up:

If nothing changes, it looks like she'll be a top tier pyro carry (competing with Diluc, Ganyu, and Xiao for top damage potential when highly invested), with very limited support ability. It's a bit less clear how expensive she'll be to get to "good enough" levels, but it probably shouldn't be as obscene as, for example, Xiao or Childe are, and her good teams are probably a bit less exotic -- very, very similar to Diluc in that regard. (If you've got a well invested Xingqiu, you've basically got a good team for her. :P)

Indeed, in most respects she fills very a VERY similar niche to Diluc, and thus folks who already have a Diluc will probably want to think a bit harder about whether she's worth pulling. The big difference between them is that she'll probably have a slightly more selfish playstyle and she has a "keep your health low for more damage" risk reward mechanic. The tradeoff is that when played well, she'll probably have a comfortably higher damage ceiling than Diluc does (assuming roughly similar gear and investment).

If you're curious, the selfish playstyle comes from the fact that in terms of mechanics she actually has some similarities to Childe -- her base skill costs health and activates a high damage mode (unlike Childe, though, it has a set timer) during which she also applies big damage over time effects with her charge attack, with her burst attack being a combo nuke and self heal that does more damage and healing if you've kept her health low.

So, like most selfish carries you'll basically use the cooldown of that skill to quickly cycle through your supports, hopefully getting turret/off field effects running so that she'll be primed for reactions throughout her next damage cycle. Top candidates for reaction supports will be Xingqiu, as mentioned above, and maybe Kaeya if you've got him set up to be able to activate his burst before every one of hers. (The upcoming Rosaria might be a good melt support for her as well.)

EDIT:

Oh, and obviously Staff of Homa is ridiculous good for her. Actually, it's wild for most spear users, but half of its passive ability works very specifically with her ideal playstyle.

Did another 10-pull on the Keqing banner, hoping for C5 Ningguang, which I could push to C6 with the Ning from the March shop. Was a bit disappointed to see the yellow gleam, as I really didn't want C1 Keqing and I was only on 25 pity.

Well, the 4* was C6 Barbara, but the 5* was C0 Diluc. So now I have Ganyu, Diluc, C4 Ning and Keqing as my potential carries. Had enough stuff lying around to get him up to 50/60 and level 4 on all his talents. He was a bit squishy, but he carried the second side of floor 11 well enough for 6 stars. Course with Bennett, Xingqui, and Fischl, he had top tier support.

Happily this means my next banner character is guaranteed to be the featured. Will likely hold out for Jean now. As the second best healer, she's the biggest missing piece in my squad by far.

Daily Check-in is live! Just check in everyday to collect the reward. The very first time you check in gets you an additional reward of 100 primogems!

As usual, the Japanese Hu Tao demo is the first to appear, I'm sure the English (and Korean, oddly enough) will be up by morning.

Has that daily check-in on the web always been there?

Had to double check when I heard about it, but everyone says it is new this month.

And just posted:

I really dislike these web based events. Why make me do a daily check in on a website instead of it just being based off of logging into the game. Arggh.

I think the best option is the log in to the game 7 days during the next 10 or so days.

Arkon wrote:

Yeah, they really should. At least with past web events I could see some logic, trying to get people to check out official webpages or advertise to their Twitter or Facebook, but this one lacks any of that.

Sweet game, maybe overly cartoony (anime), but I'd prefer if it was a MMORPG rather than a RPG.

About 10 hours till the temptation hits NA...

Good luck, Mantid. May RNGesus bless you.

I accounted for all of Hu Tao's level up materials. I failed to plan for her weapon, however, so I have to wait for the domain to come around...

Umm... probably could use some help on the fire domain again. Need to build up a team for that one still.

Feel free to holler!

I really like Hu Tao's character design, but her abilities don't excite me much. I also feel like I might get myself in trouble by trying to fight at low health constantly.

I may just hold out for a possible Diluc banner to get my pyro dps fix instead.

Yes, feel free to holler at me too. I can bully my way through that domain pretty quickly if you need help

Same here, if you see me on I am more than willing to help with the domain Mantid.

As always, Mantid, I am at your disposal.

Also, today is the start of the Geovishap expeditions. A quick chat with Liyue Katherine will unlock them and you can send out all 4 daily expeditions at once. I was able to dispatch one S tier, two A tier, and a B tier with hero's wit as the reward fairly easily. All the characters from friends make it fairly trivial to get all four expeditions to 100% bonus reward chance.

First 1.4 trailer is out, in Japanese as usual English released.

So, it's as expected: Ludi Harpastum Windblume(?); who's ready for minigames? Hangout events look great. Venti reutrns and first official look at Rosaria in action. Oceanid Event, yay? First official look at an Abyss Herald and OMG!!

Big spoiler at about 2:28!

1.4 streams are going on. Codes to redeem:
