Gabbert and Leftwich > Henne

Real shame CBS didn't frame this as the Battle of the Ex-Jaguars QBs.

Now all I want to know is:

WILL GABBERT TAKE A SNAP?!?

I'm eagle eyed watching. Most exciting thing to happen all night!

So. Can we all agree that the worst thing about the Superbowl was the Cabela's ad calling for unity when the 1/6 Traitors all have Bass Pro Shops/Cabela's credit cards?

Brady is going to win the MVP, but Todd motherf*cking Bowles for MVP.

Gotta say, Bowles getting a ring is a nice way to wipe clean being a Jets HC.

Well I hope someone bankrupted a casino if they bet on 0 TDs for Chiefs. That had to be 500 to 1

I find him deeply unlikeable, but Brady now has more SB wins than every single NFL franchise.

I mean............. holy sh*t.

Tom Brady is a douche, but Lavonte David has a ring, and Lavonte David deserves a ring after toiling in the festering garbage pile of obscurity Tampa had been since he was drafted.

That and the Jeep ad. The definition of “too soon”.

The postgame mentioned the Bucs only blitzed five times the entire game. If that's true, and they still got that pressure, JFC that offensive line was even worse than I thought. I mean, never blitzing, and Mahomes still running for his damn life constantly, that's insane.

Yeah. f*ck that one too.

No sh*t? Phil Simms just said Bowles only blitzed five times all game. No need when both edges are weak. Daaaaamn. Five blitzes. FIVE!

I may not know a lot about American Football, but as a casual observer, replacing your offensive line with some turnstiles seems to be a risky strategy.

How weak were the edges?

final tally, via @ESPNStatsInfo:

Mahomes was pressured on 29/56 dropbacks--the most of any QB in Super Bowl history.

Brady was pressured on 4/30--the lowest of his SB career.

Without exaggeration, turnstiles frequently would have slowed JPP and Shaq Barrett down more than the OTs did.

The Chiefs tackles were so bad, Halapoulivaati Vaitai thinks they suck.

We need the Kevin Harlan audio on that guy.

We got it and hoo boy, did Kevin Harlan say exactly the wrong thing to say at the end.

You copypastaed his first name, didn't you?

How dare you to think that I can't spell Halapoulivaati.

It's actually not hard when you break it up into hala - pouli - vaati.

I just realized that two of the worst Super Bowls I've seen this century have been won by the Bucs.

We should also note, this throw went like 30 yards downfield and bounced off the face of a WR who dropped it.

A kid from North Minneapolis has a ring. He may have been effectively benched for a rapist but he still has a ring.

Seen elsewhere but:

"This was like watching a young Tony Hawk get run over by Dale Earnhardt."

Who understandably dropped it. I mean no one on that field was thinking that pass would go anywhere close to where it ended up.

Another thought; in Tom Brady's prior nine Super Bowls (@#$!! NINE), all of them were close games that could have gone either way, and there's a solid chance you flip a few plays and he's Big Loser Tom when those close games go the other way. This is the first Super Bowl he's ever played in where one team just stomped the other.

2021 Me hereby apologizes to future readers of this thread who have no idea what any of the commercials referred to herein were.

Time for me to go on a selective media blackout for the next several days in an effort to avoid witnessing any insufferable gloating from Brady fans who have no ties to either New England or Tampa Bay (or Univ of Michigan I guess). Wish me luck.

Dear future person, if you are coming back and reading our stupid blather again, you are a dumb sh*t. Please leave a fresh comment saying "I am a dumb sh*t" and explain your presence here.

Maybe Rat Boy will disappear for 3 years again and we'll reread this thread looking for clues.

One of the things I've been pondering for the last couple of years has been Brady's impact on 'Hall of Fame' voting. I'm not sure whether he will be seen as an exception or as a benchmark... or both.

Pro football has changed so much since I started watching games on Channel 4 in the 80s. A combination of rule changes and the literal miracles of medical science (15 years ago, Alex Smith is on a prosthetic leg, rather than the football field, no?) mean the QBs - in particular - enjoy extraordinary longevity.

Do Brady's achievements force Hall of Fame voters to recalibrate? I've read a number of articles in recent years that argue that QBs and receivers are over-represented in the Hall.

What now is a 'Hall of Fame' career for a QB?

For example, as a Giants fan, I now wondering whether Eli Manning deserves a bust in Canton. Based on the numbers, and with Brady as a benchmark, I'm thinking... no?

If Russell Wilson plays for another decade, but doesn't win another Super Bowl, does he get in?
