Genshin Impact Gacha-of-the-Wild All

So people have mentioned that Dainsleif's quest tied into a trailer from a few months ago. I had not seen it, so in case someone else has missed it, here it is:

New leaks yesterday strengthen the case for Rosaria in 1.4, and have images of whatever the Monstadt festival event will be.

Well... this is a thing I can do now

Gah! Why?!

Spoiler:

Why do we have so many yellow photographs?!

Ha, yeah.

Incidentally, I'm assuming that eight is the hard cap and thus I only need three two more turn ins, so I sent out all my extras above three to people who were the lowest on those colors... but, I can't remember who I sent what to, so be sure to check your inboxes!

(EDIT: Two more -- thanks Peanut!)

Yup. The last two weeks have been SO much less frustrating. I never have to climb that stupid glitchy neck ever again.

I'm down to needing only two more turn-ins, gated by 2 Ochre and 1 Purple Aster. Ya know, the stuff we all seem to need. I'll keep trying to send out anything useful I get, but we all seem pretty good on crimson, ultramarine and the dreaded yellow.

Purple has been my bottleneck as well.

So here's my dilemma as my battle pass marches on toward level 30.

I don't have a good bow for Ganyu. My only 4* bows are an R1 Compound Bow and an R4 favonious bow. Those are pretty bad for any Ganyu build, so I'm using an R5 lvl 60 Sharpshooter's Oath for now. I'd really love to get a prototype so I could get a prototype crescent, but that's out of my hands.

On the other hand, I'm building up Ningguang as I'll be pulling for her on Keqing's banner and I'll choose her for my free Liyue 4*. I currently have an R1 Widsith, which is good, but not as good as the BP Solar Pearl.

So the question is should I go for a slight upgrade for Ning, getting her the best 4* available for her and continue waiting for the prototype drop? Or should I get the Viridescent Hunt for Ganyu, knowing a weekly drop that might never come would obsolete it and send the hunt to Fischl?

The answer would seem clear if I had any control at all over the prototype drops.

I've got a similar dilemma (except that for me it's between the Solar Pearl and another refinement level for my Black Sword). I'd suggest doing what I'm doing -- wait on making the decision until the last moment if need be.

The battle pass bow isn't bad, but Prototype Crescent is much better for Ganyu, and you'll have multiple weeks worth of boss kills to possibly roll a prototype before you have to decide. Also, if you're rolling on any banner at all in that time period, you could be rolling more weapons -- maybe another Widsith, which might make that compare more favorably to the Solar Pearl, or maybe a Stringless, which while not spectacular for a carry Ganyu build would more than hold you over until you can get something better naturally (and would become best in slot four star option for a support Fischl or Venti if replaced later).

Also, don't forget about starglitter weapons. The Royal set currently on the store isn't terribly good for anyone, but the Blackcliff set (which should be back next month) is much better, and the Blackcliff Bow is VERY close to the Prototype Crescent for Ganyu (especially since if you have enough glitter available, you can instantly jump to R3).

Finally, this spreadsheet maintained by the Ningguang mains Reddit might prove helpful in sorting out which weapon options would really be best for her given the stats you can put together with your artifact sets and whatnot:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

For example, for my numbers it tells me I'd need Solar Pearl refined to level 2 before it would top my exiting R5 Eye of Perception (except in grouped target environments, where the R5 Eye is always best) and level 3 before it would top my R2 Widsith, but it doesn't take a lot of experimenting with various substat values to change the picture a bit.

Yup. Blackcliff isn't far off Prototype Crescent, so if you are okay waiting until the next store refresh, that's probably your best bet until you get lucky with a prototype weapon.

I really like the BP bow on my Childe. The proc would actually be pretty nice for Ganyu charge shots too, but if you're running a Blizzard Strayer set with decent crit rolls, all that crit is going to go to waste. My current Ganyu artifact setup has 38% crit with a crit damage circlet. +20% from A2 talent, 20% from Blizzard Strayer, and 15% from cryo resonance puts me at 93% crit rate on charged shots, + another 20% against frozen targets. A weapon with + crit rate would be totally wasted for me. With Wanderer's Troupe, it could be a good holdover until you can get Crescent or Blackcliff if you don't want to wait.

I'm using Wanderer's Troupe and my Crit %/DMG is 24.1%/236.9%, so the crit from the VH would not be bad. I get 20% from the A4 talent and another 15% from Ice Mastery if I run with Diona. But that only brings me up to 60% crit.

Well, managed to get the seven photo turn ins for the battle pass at least -- I suppose given how they structured the event, missing only one isn't too bad.

I had some lucky pulls for the picture event and managed to get all 8 sets. I’ll be sending out my extra browns and purples I get in the next couple days. Just wish there was some way in game to see who hasn’t reached the cap.

Don't send me anything unless it's 1 brown. That's all I need to finish the 8th turn-in.

I'm missing 2 browns to finish off my kamera pulls as well. It's pretty strange for them to short one particular color like this. I'll send off my extras of everything else, but it seems like brown is the bottleneck for most of us.

Edit: Had one other person on my friends list with 2 extra browns, so I was just able to finish. I sent my one extra purple Zero's way. It doesn't look like anyone is short on the other colors.

I finished turning in my photos this morning to get all 8 rewards. If I get any browns/purples through the rest of the event I will send them out.

Thanks Dyni!

Reports from Asia are that tomorrow is brown creature day, so we should be rolling in Ochre soon.

Oh, this wasn’t the last day?

Nope, still have two days of photos and three additional days of trading. The in game event timer is just time to take photos. Some people have crunched the numbers based on what we've seen drop so far and figure 90% of players will be able to complete all the exchanges without help from friends if they take the photos everyday, and it is something like 99.9% with friends, so there's that.

This song was released in China this weekend. It is had approval from Mihoyo and features the Chinese voice actors for Klee, Qiqi, Venti, and Xiao. It is very sweet and cute.

All done with my turn ins now. Thanks, Mantid! Feel free to hit me up for any photos I have that you need.

Almost completely unrelated to your video, but it reminded me of this little clip I came across sometime last week:

I've got 2+ extra of all the photo colors now after taking today's photos/ getting some in from ZeroKFE.

Guess the question is... who still needs photos?

I'm all done, but I'll happily take more photos for the next day or two if anyone else still needs some.

Having a lot of fun with Theater Mechanicus but wow I just ran one with a map I hadn't seen before (two parallel tracks with wind currents between them) and I barely survived. The other maps I have done funneled all the enemies into a single track eventually so I didn't have to split my towers. Was really rough.

I wonder if it will be like the two from last night -- seemingly overwhelming when you first start, but almost trivially easy once you've fully upgraded your towers to the max level for the current tier.

Looking at the way the store currency earning is structured for this event -- there is a finite amount, earned only for achieving specific goals rather than being infinitely grind-able -- I'm hoping so. One of the great things about the events so far is that every player can easily expect to get all the items from the event store if they want to play enough, but if a few of that last tier of challenges are set up to genuinely challenging, then players who are incautious about how they spend their currency could find themselves missing some of the big prizes at the end (ie, the free character).

Not that it isn't easy enough to just always sit on 1000 of the store currency until you can get the character, but still, unobservant players could potentially find themselves out of luck.

I was too tired to get through the story stuff and get to the event. But what I have figured out is Diluc is great even without having good artifacts, a sub-par weapon, and only at level 70. He's only a step or 2 down from my best and he only has 1 decent leveled up artifact equipped. I've also spent about 25 runs attempting to get pyro artifacts and it has amounted to 2 good ones of the same type.

I said it before and I'll say it again. The randomness will be the reason I stop playing. It hasn't hit me yet, but I can see it on the horizon.

I think so. I just got most of my towers maxed or close to maxed for the current content, so now the 3rd difficulty is very easy. No complaints so far though. I'm really enjoying this mode.

I was very glad to see that we can't damage the mobs directly with a character, but we can use them to break shields, set up elemental reactions, and knock enemies down around towers. It's a great way to keep things engaging without gacha luck or gear discrepancies factoring in.

There's no need to torture yourself if you don't enjoy the RNG fest that is artifact farming. Unless you're trying to set up a killer Abyss team, I think you can be perfectly fine with just going until you find the right main stat. Good substats are nice to have, but they're a much smaller contributor to your overall power level.

If you're already only looking for a good main stat artifact... I feel that pain. I'm looking at you, crit damage circlet.

I doubt they would do this, but a wonderful solution would be allow friends to trade artifacts.
