I’ll say one thing for your team, at least you’re putting up a fight. Living in Tyneside, most of my Newcastle supporting friends are - well, there’s a range of options from ‘homicidal rage’ through to ‘thoroughly depressed’ - not good to be honest. It’s a funny old game football, especially when there’s not really all that else going on to occupy your attention!

Almost.......

You jinxed it.

Fiddlesticks.

Another match, another terrible Steve Bruce' Way performance.

We're going down.

We played OK tonight, we just lacked a proper centre back and Cavani's "foul" was definitely on the soft side. Not as bad as many would like to believe.

However, still got some serious confidence issues to address, and the fact half the team right now are mentally burned out. Not sure what the fix is there, but signing a new CB would certainly help.

When can I start asking if Pulisic isn't the best American player?

Chelsea have sacked Lampard. Can’t say I’m surprised, he was definitely swimming out of his depth. I hope he gets an opportunity - probably abroad or in a lower league - to try again as I think he’s probably quite good at the man management, but a bit naff on tactics.

Thomas Tuchel expected to be the replacement. Werner will probably go on an unprecedented scoring streak now.

Going from Lampard to Tuchel is a no-brainer.

Noooooooooo.

Was really hoping Lampard would keep his job longer like Ole.

I haven't been overly paying attention to United but I'm assuming Ole hasn't exactly become a world class manager? Just enjoying a nice run during a very strange period for football with covid as an extra variable.

I think that’s a question. Obviously I’m bias but I think Ole’s probably a better manager than I think he his, while at the same time being much worse that he’s regard in some quarters. Under him United are wildly inconsistent - they’re either on a terrible one or a very good one.

Bruno Fernandes has clearly made big difference though. I can’t help thinking that when United fall into the Europa league Thursday/Sunday cycle it’ll all start to come apart a little again, but we’ll see.

Oh ya the Europa League fixture pile up. During a pandemic also for an extra twist.

Arsenal are already asking Benfica to play at a neutral ground because there's the slight problem that Arsenal are not even allowed to travel to Portugal.

Other Arsenal news the culling of contracts is almost over. Ozil, Kolašinac, Sokratis all out and next one is Mustafi.

Kinda crazy how bloated the squad got. Some of those players couldn't even be moved without covid tanking teams willing to spend on transfers.

Can someone explain this Buffon blasphemy allegation to me? It's hard to find an actual quote but it sounds like he was caught on camera using Dio (Lord's name in vain?)? It's 2021...is he seriously being punished for this?

Siiiiiiiiiiiiigh.

Brighton really should've won, and we came so close to stealing it at the death, but we have officially reached the place where getting a point isn't good enough. Fulham could draw every game for the rest of the season, and I feel quite sure that 32 points isn't going to keep us up.

I see OGS is getting ahead of the game with Man U's inevitable Europa league slump. Losing to Sheffield United, not even Liverpool have managed that.

Yet.

United Arsenal this weekend.

Arteta can buy himself another 6 months+ of runway with a W imo.

What I like most about this season is that every good team is good for like 3 matches, until they lose a game they had no business losing, and then they're terrible again, and round and round we go.

Watching ManU I do not see what the see in Martial. I do not see him as a top striker. He just appears to not do the extra work to create anything on his own and is easily knocked off the ball. They looked flat and uninterested today as well.

Tactically they go through the middle too much and try to be too fancy with passes. When they do get out on the wing they rarely cross into the box and instead go backward. They got the talent to be more explosive but I think OGS at this time is not able to put it together or certain players just don't seem to want to try all the time.

Spurs x Liverpool tonight. Wasn't it like yesterday that they played? Who schedules these things?

16th December. I could have sworn that game took place in October. This season, I tell you.....

Big night for VAR.

Crisis over!

Another point. Could've had 3, could've had none, got a point.

Getting just a point won't cut it anymore.

Big match for Arsenal today. Willian better be on the bench

Reports of Liverpool’s demise have been grossly exaggerated... a commanding performance today and if you get a chance to see Salah’s second goal do so - a thing of beauty!

Sorry any West Ham fans!

LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDS!
