[News] Post a D&D Picture

Previous incarnations of Cleveland/P&C/D&D have had an image thread, to handle political cartoons and other image-based stuff that doesn't belong in the general post-a-picture threads.

If any of them spawn an extended discussion, please spawn it off into its own thread. Replies to non-picture replies should take the form of a link pointing to a post on a different discussion thread.

And I shouldn't have to say it, but the images still need to abide by the rules.

Spoilered in case the language is considered NSFW

Eric just constantly looks like he just had a wet fart but isn't sure.

I love how Levar Burton retweeted that.

This is an insidious lie he and the right-wing media are choosing to propagate.

He's the president. There's no reason he can't hold a press conference or release a statement directly to the press. It's entirely his fault if media outlets refuse to cover his lies.

The fact that HALLMARK has a PAC just shows how messed up this country is.

To be fair, Hallmark's not a little mom and pop operation. They're a $4 billion corporation and the 110th largest privately-held company in America.

Their PAC also only spends about $110K a year.

For comparison's sake about $14 billion was spent on the 2020 election cycle and $833 million was spent on the Georgia Senate races alone.

This very likely has nothing to do with last week.

The tweet that kicked this off has been fact checked and it turned out to be from Charlotte airport for a flight going to Denver. The dude refused to wear a mask.

Other tweets claimed the woman was from the same flight.

Either way what do you really think the odds are that a government that has inadequately responded to last week was able to gather up people's names and put them on no fly lists within a day or so? Or that being on no fly lists would still allow people to get through security, check-in, and get seated on planes before someone went "wait a minute!" Or that out of the thousands of people that would be affected if it actually happened, we only have a handful of incidents captured on social media?

Shut up! Just let us have our fantasy.

Dollars to donuts, the pearls fell down the back of the fainting couch last time you swooned onto it.

Which given the state of the world, was probably within the last half hour.

What is the dollars for donuts exchange rate these days? Based on other baked goods I've dealt with, it's got to be pretty close to even. We may even be past the point where we need to flip the idiom...

It’s $2-4 per donut at the place closest to me but it’s a pretty bougie shop. They have a PB&J donut with habanero peppers that is awesome though.

Krispie Kreme charges a buck for an original glazed.

But more importantly, what's to flip about the idiom? Both dollars and donuts are plural, so we're all good.

It's dollars to donuts, not dollars to garbage.

Shouldn't it say "Pale Faces"?

Dude. It's donuts. Poster boy for garbage food.

It's absolutely dollars to garbage.

It literally means "I'll cover my bet with something with real value and you can cover yours with something that's worth maybe a tenth of that, because I think the odds in my favor are just that good." Once a donut costs a dollar or more then the underlying math falls apart.

Late Stage Capitalism destroys everything, including idioms. Now go grab your boot straps and start lifting.

Hold on, I am eating this bunch of apples. Only a few of them are bad.

Comparing apples and donuts is like comparing apples and oranges - and now I guess by the transitive property I'm comparing donuts and oranges.

TWAL (Today We All Learned)

I was thinking it should be the Washington "Whities"
or "Nationalists"

Washington Insurgents? That's scary.

It that what they want to rename the NFL team to?
