Post a Picture of Your Silly Purchase of the Month.

Also, the fastest way to guarantee your "gonna drive this until it dies" older car dies is to do some kind of meaningful upgrade to it. That's just tempting fate.

I did the same recently, after deciding I was keeping the 2011 Challenger R/T until it dies. I replaced the stock stereo with this:

The bluetooth is horrible on the stock head units. I was going to just live with it until I traded this car in, but since I'm keeping it, I bought the Alpine for my birthday.

I probably did tempt fate. The car will probably die soon.

I installed that same head unit and I love it.

CarPlay (and Android Auto) are one of the best features of mobile phones.

I am glad to hear that. I haven't installed a backup camera, yet. The cones that show up when in reverse look horrible. I wish they would have just used dotted lines or something.

My only issue is it doesn't recognize my phone most of the time. Same issue I would have when upgrading an iPhone from an older one to a newer one and devices wouldn't recognize it. I'm positive it's the USB extension cable I used which is over 10 years old. I need to order a new one and replace it. That means taking the dash and console apart, again, but dem be da breaks.

Do you have an aftermarket backup camera for yours that you can recommend? I need to get one before so I can wire it up at the same time I replace the USB cable.

Unfortunately I can't help you there. I didn't install one.

Y'all just went to the auto store to get that silly stuff? You have no idea what I had to do to get this bar of Beskar!

Gill is awesome!!

Fire pit update: We’ve used it a handful of times. S’mores have been made. Songs have been sung. I’ve even experimented with roasting shrimp skewers on the wood fire, and it tasted heavenly.

If you take Gill's head off is Gill a grill?

Oooo! I hadn't thought about the possibility of roasting marshmallows or whatever!

It's silly because it's way too much TV. It was the smallest in stock that was 120hz

"Honey, I swear it was the smallest one they had."

Yup. 100% I got the stink eye when I came home.

Are we all married to the same woman? What’s going on here?

"But honey, this way I don't need to buy two monitors."

Gill the Chimenea related along with camping related. It's sooooo nice.

Extremely silly to purchase right now for PNW on fire reasons.

What is it? Is it a way to feed your baby while social distancing? My silly purchase was to preorder the Apple Watch Series 6 while I still have a perfectly functioning Apple Watch Series 3.

It's baby's first throwing axe.

I have the smaller version of that ax and find it makes a great pack ax. Honestly, though, I mostly use it for debranching firewood as I find the cutting into sections easier to accomplish with a saw and the camp ax size a little too small to reliably split with.

Good call going larger. Particularly if you are just going to toss it into your boat pack and won't be lumping it. I understand they split reasonably well.

Can't wait to join you for some Chinook next year or whenever this covid sh*t ends.

I'm normally not that nostalgic for material things, but my Mom has been eBaying old toys of mine that she hung on to. She keeps asking me if I want them first and it's always "no." But one thing she sent me was a photo of a very banged up die-cast Millennium Falcon that I looooved and hadn't seen in years. It was in bad shape with broken/missing landing gear and other missing parts.

I somehow found myself browsing eBay and came across one in pristine condition!

(I'm a little embarrassed how much I paid for it.)

Spoiler:

$50

We all float down here.

I always regretted selling this so I bought it again.

In that condition you did just fine. Did you keep your falcon as well? I did the same but went a little crazy and now have all of them except the tie bomber. Trying to find it for under $200 but no luck so far. It's almost always $300+

I didn't keep the old banged up Falcon, no. I honestly never even thought about the others and had completely forgotten I had the X-Wing and the Snow Speeder back in the day. The Falcon was far and away my fave though.

An ASUS TUF Gaming laptop! It has the AMD Ryzen 4800H CPU, a 144Hz screen and a 1650Ti graphics card. Not top of the line, but it's for playing mid-tier games while still downstairs with the missus while she watches horrible reality TV.

Between a Black Friday 20% discount, a coupon for another 100EUR I had for that store, and selling my 4y old gaming laptop second hand a few weeks ago, I basically got the laptop at half price.

Does it count if the tent I ordered 2.5 months ago finally arrived today?

Well, it does seem like a silly place to set it up.

I went the other way. I have a one year old Series 5 and I just bought a new Series 3 to (mostly) serve as a sleep tracker.

So now, except for showers, I will constantly be wearing an Apple Watch. Please send help.

On Dec 4th I ordered two plushies for Christmas gifts for my niece and nephew. They shipped from China on Dec 5th.

They arrived yesterday.

In the meantime I bought my niece and nephew alternate gifts that they enjoyed, and their interest in Among Us has shifted to the next shiny thing. So I guess I'm keeping them for myself. I've named them Toast and Hafu.
