Somebody's auditioning to take Le Batard's timeslot on ESPN Radio.

Actually I'm trying to land that GM-without-personnel-control job of the Jaguars.

Who the hell would even sign on to that kind of job?

Oh god... it's gonna be Baalke...

Dammit, Denver didn't fire Vic Fangio.

Alright, nobody better hire Saleh.

Oh, hey, just saw a tweet from Michael DiRocco, who covers the Jags for ESPN:

Jaguars owner Shad Khan said he had roster control in 2020 and will make sure GM coming in knows he will keep that control for now, at least.

RIP my boner. It was a nice two minutes.

Would it be wrong to find a new sigline today asking for a friend.

Playoff thread because why wait?

I'm a Giant fan, and I have no problem with the way the Eagles decided to use their roster. That's what teams do sometimes.

I noticed that the Chiefs did something similar in their game, replacing Mahomes with Henne by the time I tuned it.

Ultimately, what kept the 6-10 Giants out of the playoffs is their inability to close out games. This has become all-too-common over the last couple of seasons. I think there were at least 3 games that they lost after the two-minute warning this season. The most egregious were:

Week 5 - Conceding a game-losing field goal to the Cowboys with 52 seconds remaining.
Week 7 - Conceding a game-losing touchdown to the Eagles with just over a minute remaining.

If anything, I'm actually mildly pleased the Giants missed out, because if learned anything from when they managed to win four games in a row, it prevented me from having to hear other Giants fans arguing that a 6-10 team was good, actually.

I work with a bunch of Giants fans and this morning my response was next time win more than 6 games. The fact that their whole season was somehow the fault of a 4 win team is sad. I mean the Eagles are putrid. Don’t rely on a 4 win team to do squat. Jalen Hurts?? Please. He is a stiff. Won’t be in the league in 2 years.

I can't be bothered to trawl through the NFL.com stats, but news reports indicate that the late 4th Quarter lost has been something of a Giants specialty for at least 5 years.

The NY Times noted it in 2015. As did the Washington Post.

NorthJersey.com also noted the trend in 2018.

In the last two season, you can almost see the confidence rising in other teams when they reach the last 3 or 4 minutes of game against the Giants, and they are still within one score. Their heads lift. The backs straighten. The spring returns to their step.

I could wear it when it was Tom Brady's Patriots marching down the field against us. It's less palatable when it someone like the Jets.

I don't think the Giants fans have any reason to be mad, but Eagles players do.

I agree that it's the Giants own doing that they ended up with a record and in a position to have to rely on other teams to squeeze them into the playoffs. Seeing improvement from previous years is what I wanted from this new coach and young team and I got it.

What I thought was pathetic was taking Hurts out (a 2nd round 2020 pick) for a career backup in Sudfeld. He also made very questionable decisions which I am sure he wouldn't have made in different circumstances. He set his team up to fail and lose, plain and simple. If I were player, current and former, I would be pissed playing my tail off to try to win and have my coach tank it. Luckily no-one was seriously injured in the game or it would have been worse.
