NFL 2020: Week 17

Playoff schedule is out:

SATURDAY

Indy at Buffalo, 1:05p (CBS)

LA Rams at Seattle, 4:40p (Fox)

Tampa at NFC Worst winner, 8:15p (NBC)

SUNDAY

Baltimore at Tennessee, 1:05p (ESPN/ABC)

Chicago at New Orleans, 4:40p (CBS)

Woo! Two full days of football. Can't wait.

It's amazing to see the Dolphins knocking on the door. Truly unexpected this year.

Not even waiting for Black Monday. Jets with a little f**k-you for Gase on his way out the door.

Meanwhile, Robert Saleh already has an interview scheduled with Atlanta. If he leaves San Francisco, I really hope they land Vic Fangio (who will probably be fired from Denver). Shanahan tried to hire Fangio when he got to SF but Chicago had him under contract and declined the request to release him from the contract a year early.

Benching Hurts for Sudfeld...

So far, Sudfeld and Alex Smith trading INTs.

EDIT: 2 turnovers in 4 snaos for Sudfeld.

Philly sucks.

Pederson making sure he gets fired or doing exactly what the owner asked him to do?

Kinda bonkers they are treating this like a pre season game.

Earlier today, this story was published: Sources: Carson Wentz-Doug Pederson relationship fractured beyond repair; Philadelphia Eagles QB plans to ask for trade

Now tonight, we see Sudfeld stinking up the field because Carson Wentz was made a healthy scratch for this game.

Absolutely absurd.

I say again

Can't believe the team with no name and sexual predator owner is in the playoffs

I can.

Whatever Philly is currently doing is the kind of stuff that stinks out an organization with bad karma for ages.

I so wanted the Iggles to pull off the upset so that a ten loss Jints team would have the four seed.

Hey look, the team with the lead and the ball with 1:30 left vs an opponent with no timeouts RUNS on 3rd down and keeps the clock moving.

Are you paying attention, Cincinnati Bearcats?

What did Sudfeld show in practice? Because doing anything he looked terrible. I'm not sure what they were expecting.

I feel like that's going to result in some consequences from NFL HQ. Line was WAS -6.5 and O/U 44 and the visiting team, with a legit shot to remain competitive turned it into a preseason game? Like the Mara's are going to just sit tight while Pederson (or whoever) decides to throw the game and any shot for NYG to win a division title?

I mean, we all know advertisers are really, really important to the NFL.

And so is Gamblor.

Philly tanked and Pederson is a pathetic human being. NFL players past and present should be besides themselves about this.

I am a lifelong Giants fan, and have been cackling like a madman at the highlights. That is some A+ hatin' Philadelphia, and I hope we get to return the favor someday in even more egregious fashion.

This was Jason Kelce, about two weeks ago.

Doug Peterson CLEARLY wasn't paying attention, and may have possibly lost a locker room with his actions last night.

With that said, Giants players should remember this, and use it as motivation for two games next season.

Same. Rivera's a better than average coach. His teams almost always play well in December. And he has a track record in this area: His 2014 Carolina team squeezed into the playoffs at 7-8-1.

Hope the Eagles enjoy that great draft pick! Eagles Fan, meanwhile, gets to live with the fact that their ownership and coaching staff (allegedly!) humiliated themselves Sunday night. HAVE FUN.

Jalen Hurts reminds me of Lamar Jackson... if you put ski boots and blinders on Lamar.

Doug Marrone fired. Going to be a rough day emotionally for Legion, clearly.

I don't listen to that and see it only directed at the coach. It's the org.

Buh-bye Eagles winning culture! Hello mediocrity!

For the teams that have decades of winning, could you ever see them doing this?

BAL, PIT, SEA, NE, GB - would they ever do something like this?

(Let's see how well that #6 pick does for them in building a winner!)

I can only post Andy Williams so many times per page!

I just woke up, why do I have an erection?

Ah, there it is.

I'm a Giant fan, and I have no problem with the way the Eagles decided to use their roster. That's what teams do sometimes.

I noticed that the Chiefs did something similar in their game, replacing Mahomes with Henne by the time I tuned it.

Ultimately, what kept the 6-10 Giants out of the playoffs is their inability to close out games. This has become all-too-common over the last couple of seasons. I think there were at least 3 games that they lost after the two-minute warning this season. The most egregious were:

Week 5 - Conceding a game-losing field goal to the Cowboys with 52 seconds remaining.
Week 7 - Conceding a game-losing touchdown to the Eagles with just over a minute remaining.

Legion's had such a great day as a Jags fan, nothing's going to change that.

Oh, hey, just saw a tweet from Michael DiRocco, who covers the Jags for ESPN:

Jaguars owner Shad Khan said he had roster control in 2020 and will make sure GM coming in knows he will keep that control for now, at least.

One thing that was glossed over in playing Sudfeld last night is the effect on Jalen Hurts.

He was having a rough game, but he also was coming off back-to-back 300+ yard performances. You don't give him the chance to turn it around? And so your presumed 2021 starting QB gets to go into the offseason with this benching as the last part of his rookie year? That's how you leave things?

No doubt Hurts has been witness to Pederson's "deteriorated beyond repair" relationship with Carson Wentz, and now Pederson gives him this to think about all offseason.

This is Hue Jackson / DeShone Kizer level stuff.

RIP my boner. It was a nice two minutes.

How good are the Jaguars at developing QBs?

Blaine Gabbert, Blake Bortles, Chad Henne, and Nick Foles are all in the playoffs.

Byron Leftwich too.

Somebody's auditioning to take Le Batard's timeslot on ESPN Radio.
