Immortals Fenyx Rising

Guys, do I have to register a UBISOFT account for me to play? Is it mandatory?

Think so. But you get achievements and cloud saves with that. And can get rewards like from twitch prime too

No, my son is playing without one, but it does harass you to make one. And you miss out on some entirely optional stuff.

I have found it useful for the cloud save. I was able to play my Switch game on Stadia and back again. Nice

Thanks for the tips on the UBISOFT ACCOUNT

All done at 68.5 hours. Fantastic game and one of the better game endings.

Absolutely loved the puzzles in this game. So well thought out. Only a few were hair pulling annoying. Didn't quite 100% the entire game. There were a few treasure chests and ambrosia left to get that I didn't bother with since I was so over powered that that point. But I did complete all the Heroic Task board challenges. And closed all the vaults fully - getting all the vault treasure chests.

For a game that wasn't on my radar and a bit of an impulse buy it turned out to be one of my better gaming experiences. Will jump back in once all the DLC is out.

Finished it, loved it. The Stadia demo had actually turned me off a bit and I almost didn't grab it except for all the recommendations on here. One of my favorites for the year, so thank you!!

Is anybody playing on Switch? How is the performance handheld?

I think I found my new favorite combo against the big bosses. run with the shield bash then use the spikes to come up out of the ground and then smack them with hard hit that seems to stun almost everybody which allows me to then beat on them for a bit it’s a very nice opener.

I am rather disappointed in the precision aero that then hit some of the lightning. It takes a very long time to logon and then I’ve counted and it’s only doing as much damage as the guided arrow does I can fire a guided arrow much more frequently and hit much more.

And due to real life, unlimited gaming time I have just given up and have my iPad open next to me to look up solutions to the puzzles.

Still loving the game.

So I was an idiot and helped two gods before realizing they don't give me their power, I just had to buy it.
But now I'm slaughtering. Not a huge fan of the hammer, but Ares' Wrath is great.

For each god, there is one power named for them which you have to purchase at the River Styx Cistern; but there's also a series of three "blessings" you get for their questline.

I think Ares's Wrath is better against a bunch of smaller enemies; but Hephestus's Hammer has the edge against bigger ones. But Ares's Wrath can be used with a jump to get more height, which helps (or in a couple of cases is necessary) with some puzzles.

Right, I was just expecting it to be more like Zelda and similar games. I thought only the upgrades were purchasable. Assumptions, am I right?

Stuck in the new "When in Olympos" quest. I've completed the quest, but it seems to have glitched and it won't let me exit the challenge area.

I've got an earlier save, but it is about two hours back. None of the check points are giving me an option to quit out. The starting check point acts like it is going to let me out, but then just reforms my character in the same location.

Any suggestions?

If it is like the vaults, you should open your menu to the page where the overworld map usually is. While you are in a shrine, if I remember correctly there is an option on that menu page to exit the vault. It may work on that challenge as well.

Took me too long to figure out...

If a weapon or armor has multiple "skins," that means you can acquire it in multiple places. You'll just get the item with the default skin, then it adds the skins in order as you find the other places.

This includes the arguably "ultimate" armor that you can get from beating all wraiths, or collecting all the molten fragments, or all the midnight fragments... so if you're chasing some of those tough things thinking they'll unlock new functional items, ease up, you're just getting new skins after the first one.

FWIW, I don't think any of the armor and weapon "skins" are different other than color changes. Phosphor and the Wings do have some more dramatic cosmetic changes with different looks, though.

Yeah if there was one thing I'd like different next time was more interesting gear. Most of the time you are stuck using the same weapons and armor over and over. The starting armor that gives one health will be used a long time initially. Phosphor is the more interesting one as I feel it can actually change your play style a bit.

There was no option to escape, even in the menu page. Had to go back to an earlier save.

Now that it has happened, I totally don't trust the game and I'm manually saving constantly.

Something I discovered when stuck (not a fatal bug, just somewhere I didn't want to be) as well: the game seems to keep a number of autosaves around. If you're get caught, you might be able to "Load" an old enough autosave.

I'm not saying don't keep some safety manual saves, but if you haven't, check whether an old autosave can rescue you.

More saving problems: Played another 10-15 hours into the game, manually saving pretty frequently. Today, I did a whole bunch of stuff in Ares' domain and then I did the weekly quest, I think. Anyway, it was the timed quest where you have to fight a couple of Cerberuses and you get a nifty locket of zapping your enemies with lightening.

After I finished the quest, I went to save and saw that my latest manual save said "Save file corrupted" in red font. I saved again in a new slot - "Save file corrupted". Checked my auto saves - all corrupted. My last good save file was the one I had made the night before - maybe 5 or 6 hours behind in gametime.

So, the game is still running, but I can't save at all. Did a little research and tried a long shot: Exited the game, deleted the local save file on the xbox, restarted the xbox, and then started the game - which started in the exact state I had left it because of quick resume. But, whatever glitch was happening got cleared out and I could now save properly.

Anyway, TLDR: quick resume saved the day.

Finally started this today. Really enjoyed the opening couple hours. Think I'm almost done with tutorial/prologue bit.

Hopefully can dig in more this weekend.

Rounding the bend on 44 hrs as of last night and getting towards the finale. I've been bopping around the island finishing out vaults and puzzles before moving on with the story and this is one of the rare games that I'm going to 100%. It fires on all cylinders all the time and the writing is witty and genuinely funny, even melancholy sometimes. I like this game even more than I liked Hades.

I finished it and enjoyed. I was hitting open world burn out on the vaults and stuff.
Tentatively excited about the dlc.

Hah yeah like 5 minutes more last night and I got the prologue finished, game title bit. Could finally glide.

Played some more and finally reached Hall of Gods. Got to start upgrading, making potions, etc. I looked at a couple of tips articles when I started and everyone recommended grabbing the stamina skills. So I spent my first 8 coins on all of those 2 point reduced stamina use of everything. Climbing feels better already.

Onward to more statues.

Not really a spoiler, but combat was fun until I could stun lock everything including bosses. Then if got a bit stale.
I do like that armor and weapons can be separated from what is visually equipped.

Me too, im at around 40 hrs, it seems I have at least some 10-15 hrs to get to the finale, still one god left to get his/hers escence, and many chests/vaults/ambrosia left to pick up, I feel pretty powerful right now, so dont think I'll 100% it, but will pick up anything in the way to quests. But having lots of fun, and laughs with the conversations of the narrators "Gods".
Also great show off of my series "S".

Finished! All quests complete except for 3 myth challenges. Just under 60hrs.

Smart and funny. Can’t say enough good things about it.

Now I’m out of excuses to not play Assassins creed Valhalla...

I ended up mostly completing the Aphrodite area over the weekend, getting all 3 boons.

The last couple nights I've just jumped into Athena, got first boon, and then Hephaestus, also first boon. Now I might go do that Tale of Fire and Lightning tonight. Or I might go get that first Ares boon.

I think it will be more fun having areas to jump back and forth instead of being stuck in one so much.

I did do some exploring on my own during Aphrodite, and there was a quest for her that I had completed already when she asked me to do it. Nice how the dialog just branched into that and continued the scene. Think I did something on the way to Athena as well and got a similar "oh you've already done that" scene.

I really enjoy that the game doesn't lock things out because you haven't hit a story beat. You can explore at will and do stuff early, or your can wait until they tell you go here, do this, and follow a straight path. Should appeal to multiple play styles.

Hello guys.. Quick quetion

My 5 year old son wants a "chest , coffer" or whatever it is.. that costs like 20 bucks.. and gives items etc. If I make that purchase on HIS profile on my switch (his account is a minors account) will my "profile" have access to that ingame purchase as well?

Thoughts on the gold edition for 50$?

If that's with the season pass, sure. I'm not a fan of the first dlc, but the rest sounds promising.
