EDIT: Forum Icons should be updated. Some of you who have not have been sent an email if I need to confirm further details. If you donated $2 or more this year and your golden icon hasn't turned over and you are not an 18-year donator and have not receive an email from amanda at gamerswithjobs dot com, please PM Amoebic so we can work it out!
Hello everyone! This year, since our donation drive had turned 18 and is now old enough to vote, we'd like to involve the community in voting for this year's golden icon selection and looking to get your suggestions! Once we've gotten a good handful, we'll set up some polls and the icon with the most votes wins!
The current year's Golden icons, numbered, for your reference. If it's too similar to a custom donor icon or previous icon, it may not end up in the final vote.
We've received a couple of suggestions so far, so thanks to folks for submitting! If I haven't listed it, please repost here! I apologize for missing any. We'll start the list in the OP, and add them as suggestions are posted below.
It has to be relatively small, so simple is best. Icons need to follow the code of conduct. Avoid anything political, religious, or culturally appropriative.
Here's the list so far:
Mars Rover
joycon
Golden Eye
Cat
“modern” controller
Rocket
Globe
Peace sign
Monster truck
Lizard
Frog
More cars!
Banana
Lego block
Sega Genesis controller
Mouse
Pair of 6 sided dice
A ♥♥♥ life meter
Golden Apple of Discord
A Golden Handshake
dumpster fire
AC turnip
Nook logo
chair
Fire Truck
Big cat - lion or tiger (aka tiger king)
Chess piece (Aka Queen’s Gambit)
Grogu
Cthulhu
Voting Ballot
Bed
Eagle
Roll of Toilet Paper
Gas Mask
Whoopie Cushion
Webcam
Headphones
Lotus flower
fairy princess
unicorn
rainbow
Thanks so much, everyone! It's been such a year, and I would love to design something that you've all voted for.

An eye, a Golden Eye.
I really enjoy the word play with the Golden Parachute and Gold Handcuffs and thought a Golden Eye would be an appropriate iconic pun for a gaming community.

And when you click on it, Tina Turner starts singing the theme from Goldeneye.
I wish you guys would stop encouraging him.

I do like the life meter idea.
I hope you like thrill rides - Luis Serra, Resident Evil 4 Remake
Uncharted 4 Multiplayer: Half Nelson
I'm on board with the Goldeneye suggestions, and think we should be pioneers in the unexpected outburst of sound on the web area. It'd go great for people browsing at work with speakers!

Golden eye is cute. I think a gold crown might symbolize the year of the Coronavirus. And is in theme with luxury items.

Yeah voting booth sounds cool.
Or a high school diploma?
Graduation cap? I think I like that one.
Yeah definitely graduation cap is my suggestion.

I think it should be a lock of Trevor Lawrence's golden flowing hair.

You know what icon will not only still be relevant to contemporary events years from now, but will probably be even MORE relevant?
dumpster fire.

I still think a fire truck is perfect.

Combine it with Rezzy's kids's suggestion of Fairy Princess and make it a golden tiara.
The Konami Code taught me everything I need to know about sex.
This just dawned on me when coming back to this thread, but maybe not something to do with Goldeneye since the set of the final action scene from the Bond film collapsed this year...
