NCAA Basketball 20-21 Catch-All

4 of Kentucky's players foul out in the second half and UNC pulls away to win handily.

A largely depleted Louisville did not have a good game against a sneakily good Wisconsin team.

Yeah it was rough. But Kentucky lost, so that was good.

Word now that Coach Capel for Pitt has tested positive, so Louisville's Tues game seems to be in jeopardy. Perhaps our next game will be next Sat vs UK.

Last night, the ticker was showing that "Capel will be unavailable for the Louisville game on Tues", so perhaps it's still on?

#15 FSU falls to UCF last night. Syracuse takes OT to run away from Buffalo.

Those in state games can get you. That's why I was so impressed that Louisville handled WKU a few weeks ago. Their big guy Bassey is a definite NBA guy. They just beat Alabama yesterday. Not sure how good they are this year but any power conference win is good for WKU

Yeah, it can get ugly. I mean, NCCU nearly handed UNC another loss on their home floor. I think it's hard to convince kids that non power-5 conference schools often have good players too. They always seem to take those opponents lightly. Conversely, the other school comes in with no expectations and potentially a chip on their shoulder.

Long history of guys playing at WKU that were Kentucky or Louisville fans and mad that in-state school didn't recruit them. Definitely some of the chip on shoulder stuff.

Cards bounce back with a 10 point win at Pitt

UNC loses to NCSU?

Yep. Too many turnovers and bad shot selection. Ncsu was on FIRE in the first half. At one point they were 5/6 from three point range.

Sigh

Wrong thread

How many more of these will we see this season?

Recovering from COVID-19 doesn't mean you're necessarily free of it's effects.

And now, Kentucky is 1-6.

What a season.

Whew. Way too close but I'll take a win any day. Go Cards!

Gonzaga continues to rack up impressive wins. They took UVA out to the woodshed today.

GT?

Pastner?

Sorry buddy.

Tennessee might just be pretty good. Beat #12 Missouri by 20 at their place, and it really wasn't that close.

Officials pretty much made it an unwatchable game though. WHISTLEWHISTLEWHISTLE.

UNC escapes with a win at home behind a 25 pt performance from Day'ron Sharpe. I hope they can build on this and take some positive elements. Still a lot of bad decisions and poor shot selection out there.

West Virginia and texas tech fall to unranked teams... And Texas absolutely destroyed Kansas @ Kansas. Ouch.

Hah I knew you'd be in here. Casually was watching UNC but paid attention the final 4 minutes since it got close. Nice win.

Cards held off Boston College on the road despite a hellacious effort by the refs. Louisville was up 10+ from the last 8 minutes or so of the first half onward. But despite playing with the lead for 30 minutes, and BC pressing most of the 2nd half which causes fouls, and Cards dominating points in the paint which usually draws fouls... with 2 minutes left, FTs were 27-9 in favor of BC. Total sh*tshow. Still better to win getting cheated than lose, but frustrating as hell to watch.

Also, Calipari got tossed from UK game and they came back and won in OT. Big surprise, coach who is a sh*t coach, team does better without him. He's pulled that a couple times recent seasons. Surprised recruits haven't seen through him yet.

Also the top 10 Tenn team that just beat the hell out of Mizzou loses at home, to Alabama. Huh...

Yeah, we had no offense and missed an uncharacteristic amount of free throws. Not a good night for the Vols.

UNC survives on the road at Miami on a winning shot from... Andrew Platek?!

You know what, I'm going with it. It's fine.

UK escaped Vandy barely.

Clemson beat NCSU in OT. Might be for real finally

I thought NCSU had that sewn up, but they made some real head-scratching mistakes down the stretch. Clemson isn't great offensively, but they find ways to score. Their defense is annoying (as usual), and they have a decent roster for rotation and resting.

I think they probably deserve the top 25 ranking they've got.

Unrelated (or semi-related, I guess), I don't understand why Duke is still ranked. They've not played in 3 weeks! Sure, they lost to highly ranked teams (at the time), but... body of work is a thing. I guess we'll see where they are tonight around 8:30.

Cards win 17th straight against VaTech. They haven't beat us since 1991 back in the metro conference.

I missed winning some free custom drinking glasses on Twitter by 1 point. If David Johnson had made that last FT with 5 seconds left...

Louisville v GA Tech for Saturday is off due to covid. Not sure if ppd or cancelled.

Was a pretty intense game. Cards pulled it out at the end, tho!

It always concerns me when a team that's been playing games regularly suddenly has to postpone or cancel games. Particularly if my team has played them!

Speaking of cancelling/postponing games.... Today's matchup of Clemson @ UNC has been postponed. Covid-19 still running rampant. :/

Heard that Thurs night.

So with Louisville canceled because of GT on Wed and UNC canceled because of Clemson on Thurs... why are Louisville and UNC not playing today? If the ACC wants to have some kind of conference schedule they should be filling in wherever they can and let the healthy teams play.

Good question. I didn't hear about the Clemson cancel until yesterday, but that might have been enough time. I was thinking the ND reschedule happened in about 48 hrs....

*shrug*

Maybe it was Fri morning.

But hell they could play tomorrow. UNC's next game is Tues, Louisville's is Wed. That's plenty of down time. Just schedule a damn game instead of everybody sitting around doing nothing.

UNC finds a way to win against the Orange in Chapel Hill. Wasn't sure how that was gonna turn out, with Buddy Boeheim scoring 18 in the first half, but they seemed to do a modestly better job of guarding him in the 2nd. He also missed a relatively wide open look (bullet dodged), and I'm not sure he took many more shots after that.

Not a pretty game, but I'll take the W.

And Bama beats UK by 20 at Rupp.

And Michigan destroys Wisconsin with a 43-6 run.

And Kansas comes back from down 17 to lead by 3 and then lose to OK St.

VaTech beats Duke.

Crazy night for college hoops.
