Whelp, paragon 157 barb has died. Opened a door to half a dozen of those running splody guys in my face. Already back into the 50's with gear I had stashed. I will catch up with you this weekend and get some stuff happening.

Taps soulfully played in the background. Time for some bourbon.

2 more dead since this. I think I am drunk now.

Played to the tune of Debbie Gibsons I think we're alone now.

I was 15 years old when this came out, wow! (Tiffany's version anyway)

I suspect I meant Tiffany - music pop culture not being my strong suit.

Who cares when there is more death to demons to be had ;P
(and more HC tragedy...)

As a huge fan of Debbie Gibson in the 80s, I care. Debbie Gibson wrote all her hits, and didn't resort to cover songs to get radio play, so I had to correct this slanderous statement about her.

This Foolish Beat may be Lost In Your Eyes, and to today's Electric Youth, but there'd be No More Rhyme if I didn't come Out Of The Blue to say that Tiffany Should Have Been The One named above. You may now resume to Shake Your Love at Diablo 3... (Who Loves Ya Baby?)

Not sure if disturbed or impressed.

The fact it happened in the Diablo 3 thread is simply amazing to me.

I'm now listening to Debbie Gibson.

Debbie Gibson - songs to slay to.

Shake Your Love

Aw damnit! Now I have that stuck in my head after not hearing for 25+ years.
I just can't shake...

anyone looking to do the Boss Mode (SC) conquest in the next few days ?
I think after that 2nd conquest I might hang it up for the season, and I would welcome some help in getting that done.

I want to but I haven't had time to get on.

Well, I figured I really hate boss mode, that all acts one and 8 set dungeons. So for my final conquest I levelled 3 gems to 65 in Hardcore.

Have to say I kinda enjoyed it. I've never played hardcore before. Not properly. Sure, back in seasons past (the early ones) where they wanted you to have a hardcore char at 70, I just got someone to power level me and I was done. But this was the first time actually playing and grinding my way up nice and slowly. Inching up bit by bit to make sure it was safe. Taking deliberate damage from time to time just to get a feel for it etc.

Long story short, progressed to 70 for the Primal and now I think I'll keep playing. Kinda fun actually. The threat of instant death removing all your hard work just one misclick (or server hitch) away.......

Consequently, feels good to have the season journey fully complete with my little portrait and book pet!

This is why I can't do hardcore mode for Diablo. I really enjoy hardcore sometimes for that sense of risk, but losing hours of play due to a server glitch that I can't control is just too much.

They have also reintroduced the death traps at the start of rift levels. Remember when you would enter a rift or rift level and an elite pack would spawn within seconds that had crazy affixes that would pin and kill you? Well they fixed that several seasons ago but now loosened some of the protections. I haven't lost a HC character yet but I have died to one of these packs and I have encountered an elite pack that constantly spawns 5-6 arcane beams that were nigh impossible to kill on my monk. I died 5 times before I was able to find a shrine to summon a shadow clone to kill them. They were blocking my progress and I couldn't even lead them away so that I could go around without dying.

I have seen other nasty packs like jailers that summon nearly infinite acid pools underneath you and are big in size so they are difficult to click around without accidentally attacking them plus they belly bump you. They were mixed with the harpies that shoot high damage homing stars at you and the tall scythed dashing monsters.

It's even worse now since I got a primal Squirt's Necklace with Double Crit. It's so nice! I'm like, maaaaaaaaan, I better not lose this thing!

Server has been pretty good the last few days. I suspect now that not a lot of people are playing this late into the season that it's a bit more stable.

Jump in, give it a go!

Diablo 4 not coming out this year. Dammit, I had my hopes up.

Heck, I’ll be somewhat surprised if it comes out in 2022.

I figure we will be lucky to see a invite beta this time next year.

2023 for sure. It took them 4 years to go from D3 announcement to release. (2008-2012)
And then you have to add on another 2 years for them to root out all the broken BS. And don't forget how long it took them to fix all the connection issues.

I will definitely play it. But I have to say the more I see of it, the less interested in it I am. And this is my favorite series of all time. I haven't put more hours into any other non MMO and this series rivals most of my most /played MMOs.

To put it in perspective, I have more interest in the D2 remaster despite having big concerns about that. (it had better have at least an option for adventure mode and level/item scaling; if it has rifts that would be awesome too)

Looking better & better. Great cinematic into a gameplay trailer for the Rogue at the end. The part were she jumped off the horse straight into raining down arrows on the large group of enemies was glorious! Pity this will likely be 2023 or beyond.

One of my favourite co-op games ever remastered, hell yes! I only really dabbled in Act V back in the day so this will be my first time with the expansion. Put hundreds of hours into the base game though. They have done a cracking job upgrading the visuals while staying true to the atmosphere! Can't wait!

D2R was not exactly a surprise at this point, but still so good to see it officially.

So it was weird that they will have the updated 3d version of d2 and a separate 2d version?
I am so in for playing a rogue in d4. Just when I thought I was out, they drag me back in indeed. Not necessarily about the wasted dev cycles on pvp but I don't have to play it so "meh".

I really hope they give some info on wtf they are going to do with the skill system in d2. That and they desperately need to implement some sort of adventure mode or at least unlocking the waypoints. If they opt for a level scaling system that would be great too. (make it optional of course)

3D and 2D will supposedly be the same version, allowing you to switch between them at will, like many other remasters.

Sounds like there will be no major gameplay changes in the remaster. Which is the right choice imo.
But that they might be willing to look at balance changes and QoL, if "people want it".

If they do all these things they should allow people to choose between a 'classic' and 'modern' mode though.

Holy crap!
The 2d and 3d is the same game and hot swapable. The 3d renderer is layered on top of the 2d game and using all the same rules and mechanics. Mind asplode!

$40 though

I've seen it in other games and while it's a neat trick, there's usually one mode that is better than the other.

I acquired a pirated copy of Diablo 2 for free the first time I played it. I'll pay the $40.

I'm watching the deep dive and the 3d is so much better. It is creepier and darker. The dynamic shadows really add to the atmosphere.

They really seem to be delivering on everything I hoped for in a D2 Remaster.
Impressive. Warcraft 3 Reforged died for Blizzards sins, so D2R could be a better version of itself

Only thing that could be even better:
Have two separate game modes (like SC and HC). Classic and Modern.
Classic is the D2 experience basically unchanged, as shown in todays announcement.
Modern is the place where the devs can make balance changes, add new items, some more Quality of Life stuff etc.
I cant see it happening, but it would be great.

Yeah and like I mentioned above, the modern version could have had an adventure mode. Or also things like making all the ladder rune words available offline.

The crazy thing is that d3 got me to start playing HC characters. So I may try that to add some spice to the old game. I don't think I'll be doing it for any class other than assassins though. Maybe necros too but definitely not sorcs.

No balance changes sucks in other ways too. It means they aren't going to do things like amazon valkyrie summons pathfinding.

Are the characters in Diablo 4 confirmed to be gender locked or not?

Diablo 2: Resurrected equates to my prayers being answered! I played so much D2! It was a frequent rotation, often a daily adventure, for at least two, possibly three years (when I think on the base game evolving into the expansion). I'd be amped to get home from school and play some single-player until our internet went live (from 18:00 until 06:00). Spikeout and I spent hundreds of hours on Battle.net. Whilst his brother and I likely rolled into the thousands. Thus, I am thrilled to journey back, now on a console, and with a controller. Awesome!

I'm also happy with what I've saw from Diablo 4! It's not that I disliked Diablo 3. It was fine. I played a fair amount, across PC and console, on a few separate occasions. It felt a departure in many ways, though, and I never became as intertwined with the gameplay, the classes, the builds, the lore. So it's great to see Diablo 4 change it up.

The classes in d4 are not gender locked. (I believe I've seen footage of female barbarians and druids) They state in the d4 reveal that rogues can be from the sister of the sightless eye and also from some other regions/clans. So I would assume male rogues are not from the sister of the sightless eye.
