The Keys To Happiness - a Steam & Origin (and Desura!) key giveaway and trading thread

I have a copy of State of Decay:YOSE to give away, via a Steam gift, if anyone is chomping at the bit for some zombie shenanigans.

Anyway we can get the link in the OP?

I should check the spreadsheet more often. Thanks to forlorn1 for Yakuza Kiwami! Looking forward to playing it after I finish Yakuza 0.

Three games from earlier 2020 Humble Choice bundles here for someone who wants them (non-coffee grinders please).

American Fugitive
Metal Unit
GRID Ultimate Edition (2019)

I've added these and a few other leftover keys from other bundles to the Master List

PM me to request a key.

Got a duplicate key from the Fanatical bonus game. Adventure Pals

Fun little kids platformer. PM me, no grinders, the usual.

it's new humble bundle time and these are the games I'm ready to gift:

- Darksiders III
- Crying Suns (space tactics)
- Darksburg (coop roguelike)
- Darkwood
- Smile for Me (a wacky-looking adventure)
- Rover Mechanic Simulator (didn't know those exsist)
- Townsmen - Kingdom Rebuilt (old-school looking city manager)

DM me if you fancy something here. As always first come first serve.

Crying Suns is an awesome FTL-like. Got a great story and some tactical grid combat with fighter squadrons you launch from your ship. Somebody grab that.

edit: actually, my poor reaction to a game is irrelevant when the game is being given away.

Thanks NaivGamer for Crying Suns. I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

Thank you NaivGamer for Darksburg!

Thanks to NaivGamer for Townsmen, I'm always up for a city builder!

Does anyone have a copy of minecraft available? My kids are interested in the game and would like to get a full version.

I think it's on Game Pass? If not, isn't it free with Windows 10 or something?

No way. Minecraft is one of the most valuable commodities in gaming. With the exception of the 10th anniversary event in March 2019, it never, ever goes on sale. It's $26.95 or bust, I'm afraid.

Just to be completely pedantic: Minecraft Dungeons (the "Minecraft" game that tundra's kids are not interested in playing) is included as part of Xbox Game Pass (console & PC).

And IsThereAnyDeal claims that Minecraft has gone on sale on Amazon for as low as $17.

Thanks for the info folks. My kids will need to wait for a sale.

They were giving away the "education edition" of minecraft at the start of the lockdowns. No idea if that's still going on.

That was available until June of 2020. I missed that one.

Minecraft is free on game pass, but only on the console. Not the PC version.

Well I'll be damned. Apologies for doubting you, astralplaydoh.

Also, it's available on iOS and Android for a mere $7.

But be known that it is only for certain google platforms. My daughter can't play it on a chromebook which is bs.

Not entirely game related, but I have some free trials from chromebooks that expire tomorrow. Apologize for posting codes directly into the thread, but there's a good chance they'll expire before I check back here if I have to PM people. I also don't have a great way to test these codes, so it's possible that they'll tell you to use an eligible chromebook when signing up.

3 months stadia pro -- can't have had stadia pro before. Gets you the free monthly games and probably a $10 coupon later, and if you bought CP2077 will let you play in 4k HDR. Expires 1/14. I used a trial from T-Mobile last year, and it's not worth a throwaway account for me.

3 months youtube premium -- can't have had premium before. I already pay for this so I'm not eligible, it's nice not to deluge the kids with low quality ads. Expires 1/31

In both cases, make sure to turn off auto-renew once you're done signing up.

7 year old thread, is Jeff-66 even active any more? Not sure what we usually do here.

Minecraft is CPU heavy and Chromebooks struggle with it to a large degree when you manage to get it loaded on unless you have the beefiest of Chromebook.

That there isn't a browser based version is a bit of a missed opportunity for schools at this point, but that's why they have the Education version now, I assume.

Maybe it is time to make a new thread anyway.

Maybe an admin could put it in if jeff-66 isn't around any more?
