NFL 2020: Week 12

For the love of God, don't let Berman try to come up with a nickname for him.

Yep, Lamar got the cooties. RGIII time baby!!!.

So what are the deciding factors between a team that gets their game rescheduled, and a team that gets told, "f**k you, play with whoever you have left"?

Because there seem to be some huge discrepancies in terms of delays vs. having to play shorthanded, and the determinations seem arbitrary.

Playoff potential. Will the team attract viewers in the playoffs if they make it. Don't sacrifice the money later for money now.

The NFL is inconsistent? You don't say!

We get Tues night football again this week, thanks to the Ronaravens.

Yeah yeah, I know, but usually there IS a lot more consistency when it comes to scheduling matters.

And because BAL was scheduled to play Thurs night (against DAL) in Week 13, BAL-DAL has been shuffled off to Monday night (ie Dec 7) as the first game in a Mon nite doubleheader

I'm going to say the lack of prime time TV production due to covid is changing that. Not like NBC had something better to air on Tuesday night with many shows on hiatus or canceled. Football every night is good for TV.

We may not if rumors about an outbreak among the Steelers is true.

49ers (replacement) starting guard Tom Compton suffered a concussion at a *walkthrough* practice because the football gods won't stop until every 2020 49er has been deleted.

What the Panthers are doing best in 2020: getting opposing coaches and GMs fired.

Carolina gets full credit for the sacking of the ATL coach and GM, who were fired the day the Falcons lost to the Panthers back in October.

Six days after losing to Carolina, Detroit has sh!tcanned its coach and GM. Panthers get half credit there, never mind that Detroit should have ended the Matt Patricia Experience after the Carolina game when the team gave up in the second half.

Bonus fun fact: Carolina is responsible for the firing of two separate Quinns: Dan, the Falcons coach; and Bob, the Lion's GM.

Cool, cool. Can I interest the mighty Panthers in a game against Jacksonville?

Maybe the can hire Caldwell again and fire him after two winning seasons.

Playing in Santa Clara may have been deleted.

The Broncos have no QBs for tomorrow. Jeff Driskell has covid and the rest of the QB squad has been in contact with him (natch).

And neither do the Saints. This'll be fun!

First one to call Tebow wins!

(Insert joke about them still not having a QB.)

Well the season lasted longer than I expected it to.

When I heard a Broncos QB caught COVID and sidelined the rest of the QB room, I wasn't surprised.

When I heard the QB in question wasn't Bortles, then I was surprised.

No one has played a NFL game without a QB in the roster since the 2017 Browns

I just hope COVID doesn't catch Bortles. Poor thing.

Nobody can catch Bortles. Ask Allen Robinson.

I'm seeing reports that Jalen Hurts is getting more 1st team reps.

Wentz hasn't been good, he's basically playing the Eli Manning role this season, but benching him with his enormous contract is nuts to me.

Has Wentz really been that bad? His OL sucks. His WRs suck. His RBs are okay. His TEs have been hurt.

So, the Broncos are playing a practice squad wide receiver at quarterback because they league wouldn’t let them activate their c-level coach to play.

The 29ers can’t play at home for three weeks (and will miss two home games) because Santa Clara county is locking down.

The Ravens are up to 18 players on the Cooties list.

What are we doing?

He's been bad... since 2017 its been a steady downhill slide culminating in this seasons implosion. His decision making is bad.. his throws inaccurate and his pocket presence is nil... Footwork is laughably bad, and he seems to have a complete lack of awareness of what the defense is doing and even what receivers he should be throwing to.

I'm sure some of it is lack of talent (WR) and injuries on the Offense (OL and TE) and he shouldn't take all the blame as there is plenty to go around.. Howie (GM) has saddled this team with some truly awful contracts for veterans on the downside of their careers (Alshon's is putrid) and worse has hit on 5 draft picks since 2017 (and hit is a generous word.. they are starters for this team and maybe just this and a handful of other teams).

Doug (HC) hasn't been exactly stellar.. his offense is apparently either broken because of Wentz or just flat out broken. I think the 2017 SB run and win was a combination of luck and Reich running and creating the offense.. once Reich left the whole thing went to sh*t.

A SB win will mean that the owner will be reluctant to blow things up but it appears that at the least you gotta fire (or demote) Howie and see if you can rebuild the front office to start taking advantage of the draft again.

Unless Indy wants to trade for Wentz I can't see anyone touching him so he's stuck as an Eagle for at least 2 more seasons (maybe one if they can take the cap hit the second).

Witnessing why the bubble option was the only legitimate choice for playing a professional sports season in 2020.

Denver also asked for postponement and was denied, so clearly the Broncos are in the "f**k-you-play-with-what-you-have" tier of teams.

I guess it's based on this:

https://www.nfl.com/standings/playof...

HAWT TAKE:

This is in lots of ways good for the Broncos; they weren't going to beat the Saints anyways, so now they get to grumble about this for years and point out how the league screwed them. Also, their newly-anointed QB gets to be the answer to trivia questions for decades to come. Everybody wins. Except the Broncos, which wasn't happening anyways.
