Fallout 4 Catch-All 2.0

Strangeblades, do you mind posting your mod list here please. I have been thinking about getting back into Fallout 4. I am more interested in a Survival horror game than a sim building game.

Also, I use Vortex.

I am amazed you can even boot the game with that many mods

Vortex makes it easy. Some people are running 200+ mods.

ModOrganizer2 (Vortex's predecessor) makes it even easier than Vortex. I had about 120 mods for FO4 and that was nothing. My STEP-based Skyrim install had 230 mods.

You do have to do it right, though; just throwing 200 random mods at a game will destroy it, it's true. You have to choose the highly-rated -- and highly-focused -- fixes, enhancements, and quality-of-life mods over the janky waifu ones.

Counter-point: I am amazed you can even play the game without that many mods. =)

Just myself and my dog enjoying a nice flight through the irradiated wasteland. And trying not to shoot the wrong people. It's so darn hard to see anything in this soup!

"Prepare your neighborhood to be gentrified!"

I found out how to unlock the console command when playing on Survival. You can take so many great photos!

I really need to get back to my game. My Minuteman character, Nathaniel, needs to scavenge more materials to finish wiring the rest of the Castle.

Why isn't this on Gamepass?

Everything that is Fallout 4 should be on Gamepass.

It's not though. 76 is and 4 is no longer on Gamepass.

I simply don't understand why other than they'd rather folks play 76.

Thought this was a Nier: Automata screenshot at first.

I had no idea how involved setting up mods would be. First, of course, I've got Vortex. But for Fallout 4 there is also the Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE), and the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch, and managing mod load order with LOOT. LOOT will also recommend some cleaning up of game files, for which you'll use a version of xEdit specifically for Fallout 4 called FO4Edit.

So having done that, I installed Darker Nights and Sim Settlements 2. And I started looking at Dogmeat-replacement mods. We recently lost our pug Opal, so I wanted to put her in the game. I wasn't the first to have this very idea, to honor the passing of a dog who loved roughly during the same time, which was heart[warming, breaking]. I found a mod called Pugmeat which introduces a pug that'll follow Dogmeat around. But Pugmeat is a mod that's kinda in-your-face about the pug having a penis, which breaks the illusion in many ways.

I might give it a shot anyway, but maybe it's time to finally learn how to do modding. All it takes is time and skill with neither of which am I particularly overflowing.

muraii, you might want to check out Gopher videos on Vortex and modding. It is the most proficient use of your time and you will learn a lot without a bunch of trial and error.

Many thanks!

May you bask in his eternal glow!

Has anyone tried out any of the Wabbajack modlists for Fallout 4 before? If so, any recommendations? Was thinking of playing some Fallout 4 again and was curious on people's opinions before I started looking at them.

Odd issue on my end, when I booted up Fallout pc recently a different piece of music was playing on the main screen. I had not updated mods or anything. Any ideas?

Thank you,
Chad

Do you have Far Harbor on that one? They updated the title screen with a new song and slide show.

I do have Far Harbor on the pc. I miss the main theme. SO good!

Arise thread!

For those on PS4, the Season Pass is on sale just now for like £6 in the U.K. I suppose I will try and finish the main game now.

Rise, RISSSSSSSE from your grrrraveeee!

I hate this game. I hate the settlement system, I hate the constant calls from Preston Garvey to go defend settlements. I hate the building of settlements, the whole goddawful buggy mess that is building infrastructure. If it's related to a settlement I ****HATE**** it.

I tried downloading Sim Settlements 2. Couldn't make it quite work right, later somehow getting it to work. I only found out later that instead of lessening my problems with settlement building, it made it worse.

The questing stuff with SS2 was really fun. The actual settlement building? DESPISED it. I wound up setting a mayor for each settlement I picked up, then let it run. I still get calls to defend settlements.

Chapter 2 of SS2 is a joke. You set up an HQ, Which you can not automate in any way shape or form. The new HQ system is a hot mess. I gave up trying to make it work. Workers disappear.

As for the vanilla game. It is also kind of awful. Bugs abound, even after a seven year period. The main quest of one of the expansions, automaton ?(sp) is COMPLETELY bugged, and required several console mode forays to fix. Enemies are similar. They boil down to raiders, gunners, supermutants or ghouls. There aren't that many console entries for world flavor anymore. Most of the flavor has been sucked out. It makes f4 feel like a fishbowl.

Nuka world was a nice expansion... Onnnnly you have to be evil to get everything out of it. And willing to destroy your settlements. And I *REALLY* don't like raiders, like at all. I think I'm hardwired to hate Raiders all the way back to the original Fallout. Spent too much time killing them to want to do anything but kill em.

I've hated every minute of the seven days in game time I've spent playing it. I guess its an acquired taste. I love the world, and lore but hate everything else.
