NCAA Football 2020-21 Season

So yeah... 18 games canceled today. Not sure this thing is going to finish.

Oh, we will finish. And I am personally looking forward to the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Socially Distant Bowl between Marshall (7-0) versus Cal (3-2) played at Who-gives-a-f*ck-because-there-are-no-fans-allowed Field.

100% will watch

Georgia finally has a QB again.

I'll be your huckleberry!

This is a monumentally ridiculous season of CFB. Utah is laying its first game......... right now.

Feels worth it.

A good example of how not only should we not be playing college football during a pandemic, but we shouldn’t be giving millions of dollars and a platform to people like this.

What’s ridiculous is despite making all this money historically they are doing layoffs and furloughs. It’s almost like the mantra for the middle class to save so they don’t lose everything if a recession comes doesn’t apply to everyone.

Clemson is mad for the last minute cancellation and I get that, but they let a back up player who was showing symptoms of COVID practice all week instead of sitting the player. This was really stupid on their part. I understand the frustration especially since Clemson had already travelled to Tallahassee, but they should have known better. The only way they are going to be able to play football is to be over the top in watching their players.

And let’s be honest, Clemson probably would have still blown out FSU without needing that backup player.

Its just this crazy dichotomy of football and its place in life depending where you are in the country. Cal has had a game cancelled, and another game basically forced onto us with a 48 hour turnaround, and no one is complaining. In fact, most fans are probably upset that we even bothered to play the UCLA game... maybe that's because of the result more than anything, but if that ASU game was just cancelled without the makeup, so be it. Utah just played its first game, and same thing, I'm sure fans are disappointed but Whittingham isn't out there acting like an idiot.

As I've said it many of times, as a fan of Cal football, I want us to play, but if we didn't, that would be disappointing but hardly the end of the world. I guess its different down in SEC/ACC country.

Oh and yeah, Cal 0-2 sucks. Looks like I won't have to worry about my "If Cal makes the Rose Bowl and I can't go, does it actually count" question, so at least one mental burden is off my back

And, hey, it's Big Game Week! If we end up 1-4 but this is our Win, then I suppose that will be good enough for this stupid season.

How is it different? We just missed our second game in a row this weekend. Resist the urge to extrapolate one a-hole's (Dabo) actions into some big conclusion about millions of people you've never met.

For the record, Clemson look like dumb dumbs for having a symptomatic kid practice all week - and by the way, shouldn't he be resting, anyway? And they look like total un-self-aware douches to be out there crying about FSU not wanting to invite patient zero to a dinner party.

FWIW, that's how all of college football looks like to some of us. Testing capacity is strained. Hospitals are strained across the country. El Paso is using prison labor to handle Covid casualties. Dabo Swinney is absolutely looking like the least self-aware person right now, but not the only one struggling with self-awareness.

Fair enough, and you are right. I wouldn't be a good coastal liberal elite if I didn't talk like that, but I should do better.

I'll also keep that in mind when I'm told the SEC > Pac12 because Oregon lost to Auburn 5 years ago

Come on you didn't actually think a Big Game week would pass without me posting what is OBJECTIVELY the greatest College Football play of all time.

"Objectively" ...

Carl: Where were you when this play happened?

I was sitting in my house probably no clue what was going on in Berkeley... but that's a lot closer than I was to the birth of Christ or the signing of the Declaration of Independence and yet those are celebrated every year too

Watching the Big Game on TV and something didn’t feel right... then I figure it out... this is only the 2nd Cal home game and 1st Big Game in 15 years that I’m watching on TV.

Weird. F*** 2020

Oh Carl. Sorry buddy that was rough.

Ooof. No kidding. Good thing 2020 doesn't really count.

So upsetting. During the Tedford years Special Teams doomed us multiple times, and it's back.

On the brightside, our streak of giving bad teams their first win ends as we play Oregon next week. Nothing will make me happier than keeping the Pac-12 out of the the CFB stupidity. If its another year where the Pac-12 won't be in the Rose Bowl, then let it be this year when ACC plays SEC in Pasadena with no one in the stands.

That Oregon / State game last night was great. OSU QB hurt on 3rd and goal inside the 1 with 30 seconds left. Backup QB comes in for first snap of the season and sneaks it in to win the game.

Sun Bowl cancelled. 86 years, 2nd longest behind Rose

FSU may not play again this season due to COVID and rescheduling issues. We probably weren’t going to win another game but we are one of the youngest teams in NCAA due to the coaching changes and they needed the practice and game time for the future.

Yeah I'm kind of happy for Louisville-Wake game to be 3 weeks from now. That's like a bowl game, getting in extra practice for our guys for next year.

Ags win a tough one away to Auburn! Our defense is legit and our run game is lit!

My alma mater is no longer undefeated. f*cking Rice.

Cal! Undefeated against Ranked Teams in 2020!

If we were in the SEC and our losses were to Alabama by 28 points we'd probably be in the top 10 by now.

Easy, friend, you might want to come back to Texas one day!
