NFL 2020: Week 10

First time Giants beat Philly since Nov 2016..Wow!

Yeah, they only beat Philly twice since 2013. I feel like this is as good as it’s gonna get for the Giants. After a bye Week and Bengals, they have Seattle, Arizona, Cleveland, and Baltimore, followed by Dallas to end season. Dallas, which is the farthest thing from an easy win for NY, will be the easiest part of that stretch, the GMen will have their hands full to end the year.

Still, I’ve seen improvement in this team, and maybe the dark days of the Giants are starting to get a little brighter.

Also, Daniel Jones, no turnovers last two games, and he didn’t trip on that 34 yard TD. Atta boy!

*double post*

Trying to make up for my lack of posting recently.

Hot prediction: NYG go 6-10 and win the lEast. (because no one else seems to want it)

Yeah, amazing what some additional time to gel and some good coaching can do for an OL, QB play and run game. All I asked for was improvement from the team and seeing it. Agreed, some tough games ahead so we will see how they adapt. Danny Dimes didn't tangle his legs! Always a good thing! Stinks for him that the trip is now a meme but those are the times.

Some big wins by Raiders, Rams, New England, and Colts this week!

Love these breakdowns of football by Baldy!

That play would've been immortalized on tv also, though likely relegated to bloopers tapes in a few years.

I forgot to mention this when I saw it, but that run had Danny doing 21.23 mph. He was a top 15 fastest ball carrier! (Currently pushed down to 20th with a few more weeks of play, but damn.)

That is fast yeah! I knew he had some skill in scrambling but had no idea he had some jets.

I still remember some bloopers and mistakes from years ago. The Leon Lett running wrong way was one from years ago

Listen, it's early, and there's still time to change things, so . . . are we sure we're going with "Danny Dimes"?

It's on his Wiki page, so it's already written in stone.

Poor guy. The "Danny Nickels" and "Danny Pennies" jokes just write themselves after bad games.

In other thoroughly shocking news, Antonio Brown is a bad person.

Before signing w/ Tampa, Antonio Brown was accused of angrily destroying a surveillance camera at S. Florida gated community, throwing bike at a security-guard shack. He wasn't charged because HOA president "feared" retaliation, per police report

Daniel Sixpence when they play in London.

I feel like "Daniel Sixpence None The Richer" has to be worked in, maybe there will be a game right near a 90s alt-folk revival concert and it all comes together.

Will Rachael Leigh Cook walk down the stairs when they play? Because then it would be worth attending.

Saints’ QB Drew Brees has multiple rib fractures on both sides of his chest and a collapsed lung on the right side.

Yes, but in Danny Dimes fashion, she'll fall down the stairs right when she gets near the bottom.

Uh, well, at least they have Taysom Hill to finally take charge and show what he can't can do.

Ha ha no. They'll start Jameis. Payton knows that only one of his backup QBs can actually play QB.

Once again, though, the Saints are their own worst enemies. How do you send your ancient (and tiny) HoF QB out there with three broken ribs? Didn't someone notice that Brees probably couldn't breathe in practice last week? What kind of team culture do you have that he won't say anything to anyone? And on Sunday Brees breaks two more ribs and will be out for who knows how long? And you're going to replace him with your third-string QB and/or a multi-position guy who's not good enough to actually start at any position?

Yet another piece of evidence against Sean Payton's HoF candidacy. He is truly the worst.

Taysom did take a snap in the 2nd half of the Niners game, and promptly fumbled the ball.

Considering the Saints played a decimated 49ers and Falcons next week. It's pretty negligent by Brees and or the coaches if they knew.

Pretty good time to sit Brees. Even more so considering they have Jameis. Easy excuse to get him some game time if you find yourself in the playoffs and Brees goes down mid game.

I complain alot about the Packers but I've been very happy on how they have treated injuries this year. Adams + Jones probably both sat out an extra game because why risk it.

It says in the article after the Tampa Bay game that he had x-rays but the cracked ribs did not show up most likely due to inflammation around them. So he was probably just "sore" during the week and did not practice much. Then in this week's game at some point he had trouble breathing so that lung puncture must have happened during this game.

Tough injuries, especially the older he gets. Goes to show the toughness and grit of these players.

It shows the stubbornness and the dumb suck-it-up mentality that infects sports and culture.

I'm the last guy here to defend Brees, but he could have been hurt a hell of a lot worse. A collapsed or even punctured lung is no joke. It was team malpractice to send him out there Sunday.

"Toughness and grit" are why injured football players keep playing through concussions and other injuries, and can't walk or say their name by the time they're 50.

Remember the DeAndre Baker incident? Well it took a crazy right turn.

All charges against Baker have been dropped, and charges have been filed against the lawyer of three of the alleged victims for extortion.

When the witnesses recanted, naturally it smelled like witnesses getting paid off by the athletes they were accusing. Because the alternative would be something like, well, conspiracy.

Well, it seems like this time, the sound of hooves actually was zebras.

The alleged (and possibly non-existent) robbery happened at a party in the Miami area, the night after Baker and Dunbar supposedly lost $70,000 playing cards at a different party. Four men accused Baker of brandishing a gun and directing Dunbar and a third person to collect valuables from them.

(...)

It appears now that no robbery took place. The incident was concocted as part of an alleged scheme to extort money from a professional football player.

I mean, the Pro Bowl was already trending towards "Madden tournament" anyway.

I guarantee they'll play harder in the Madden tourney.

Sucks to be the Giants, but glad to see that real snake was found.

Lots of max protect going on. I'm not sure how much of this is Danny Dimes' weakness to pressure or the OL or a combo of both (plus being backed up), but it's a bit weird to see. I don't know the Giants that well, but it looks like they're max protecting and giving him one or two reads. Is Dimey a read and react QB? Seems that way, which is fine as long as your understanding and processing is top notch. Baker is a read and react QB, but everyone figured out his tendencies and he's struggled to change. They seem to be trying to give Danny the chance to take a look or two and then dump it.

Honestly, the Eagles' D just looks bad to me.

I'd rather watch Pro Bowlers play non-Madden video games.

Yeah NBA 2k tournament.
