Supernatural - Salt and Burn All

Well they had to have SOME kind of brawl for the sake of the story, but if you're expecting Matrix-level special effects and what not, you're watching the wrong show.

This is the show that, at the height of the near-apocalypse, could only show us some "news footage." They're operating on a fairly low budget as TV shows go.

Of course I'm not expecting blockbuster movie like special effects. I'm not that hardcore. I wouldn't watch many tv shows if that was the case.
This series usually deals with them pretty well, but I don't know what the hell they were thinking this time. Anyway, that's a minor thing in the problems I had with that season.

Hah, what other problems did you have?

Didn't like how they handled Death, the actor portraying Jack wasn't good (same for his storyline), the spinoff episode was horrible (if it wasn't for a spinoff series it sure felt like it), weird character decisions, they could've done better with Lucifer (Rowena too, btw), f***ing Charlie, and other things, but it's all starting to blur.

Hah, it's funny, I feel pretty much the opposite on all of those things, but to each their own I suppose.

Wow.

That was far better than I could have ever hoped for, but it left me an emotional wreck. I haven't cried that hard at Supernatural since they killed off Bobby. Absolutely stunning episode.

sh*t, can't wait to watch it.

You were right. That wrecked me. WRECKED.

It was a pretty great episode.

Welp, over on Jared's Twitter, Jered, Jensen and Misha announced that season 15 will be the show's last.

I'm feeling bittersweet about it all really. Happy they're ending on their terms, but sad they're ending.

Aw.

On the one hand, 15 seasons is a hell of a run.

On the other hand, I love that whole cast and they're just so happy to be together.

So glad they get a whole year to go out how they want to go out. I would not be surprised if that ends up their strongest season.

I wonder if there will be a movie at some point.

While I continue to watch the show and there have been a lot of great episodes over the years, it's about damn time. LOL Looking forward to seeing how they wrap this crazy show up.

After a mere 28 season run!? When does the campaign to save it start?

Now that's one hell of a cliffhanger to set up the final season. I'm sad the show is ending, but at least they're going out with a bang and on their own terms. If this episode is any indication, season 15 is going to be incredible.

Dang, need to get caught up.

Yeah it's going to be one hell of a final season. I still think the show has been on way too long but they have managed to keep me interested despite that with some great moments.

I think this final season is going to be epic! The ending to this season was fantastic!

Weren't they going out on their own terms at season 5?

They probably could have condensed everything that happened after season 5 into like 3 additional seasons, maybe even less and it would have been an amazing 8 season run.

There was a bunch of cool stuff that happened after season 5. Unfortunately there was a lot of mediocre and crappy stuff too.

Considering how few shows make 15 seasons, though, they were obviously doing something right.

So we're in the last season! The body count has been intense, and I kinda like how so far, three episodes have stuck to the same location, which isn't usual for this show.

The Jack demon said he'd become a god using the crook (horn), but Castiel just beat the crap out of him with no resistance.

And then Dean blames Castiel for that?

Did not care for this last episode.

C'mon, this show has had manufactured drama since the beginning. You know they'll hug it out later, they just need to separate to realize how much they miss and need each other. Again.

This is it folks. The series finale of Supernatural airs on Thursday after 15 seasons. It still hasn't quite sunk in for me yet.

The penultimate episode of this season wrapped up the season arc with God (meh) leaving the series finale as an old-school MOTW episode focusing on Sam and Dean as characters. No messy lore getting in the way.

I'm still a few episodes behind but it feels so weird that it's almost over.

I saw an interview with Jensen Ackles from his Vancouver quarantine before filming the last two episodes where referenced how the 2007 writer's strike affected the show. That threw me for a loop. 15 seasons is insane for a show like this (not that I'm complaining). I remember seeing Dean in the first episode and thinking, "Hey, that's the guy from Dark Angel!" What a ride. I fell off around season 11, but since I've already gone through Grimm again, I think it might be time for one last ride through Supernatural. 1 to 15.

You'll see him again in The Boys. Can't wait for that.

I was initially turned off by the premise of The Boys -- a cynical superhero show for people who hate superheroes? I love superheroes! -- but it was the announcement of Jensen Ackles getting cast as Solider Boy that got me to check out the show. That announcement was also how I found out that Eric Kripke is the showrunner. I had to watch the show after learning those two were attached and I'm so glad I did. It's nothing like the grimdark nonsense I feared it would be.

Yay, Eric Kripke helming The Boys starting Karl Urban is what got me on board, so glad I did.

I enjoyed the last two episodes of Supernatural. I thought they did a good job of wrapping up the series after such a long run. I'm glad the run is over.

I’m not crying, you’re crying.

Well done, show. This is why you’re my favorite. I’m so gonna miss you.
